I was banned from Chateau Diaries when they first got the puppy because I suggested they don't hold Lanceolot above their heads, not only it wasn't safe but also it's an obedience issue. I knew then that the puppy wouldn't make it to his 1st birthday, and unless they have learnt, this new puppy won't last long.

Should add the “play times” where Philip wrapped the poor dog in a blanket like a burrito and made him struggle to get out. Philip and Stephanie just laughed as the little pup struggled. It was appalling! Also all the times they have travelled and locked the dog in the bathroom alone. And don’t forget the time they were at the 5 star hotel and the dog got sick and Philip gave it a bath in the sink and roughly dried him off with hotel towels.
Those play times where way too rough for a such small puppy. Philip should only be allowed to play with his soft toys, not any living creature... He could shake those toys all he want's and no harm done. This new puppy won't live a year.
I think she has shot herself in the foot with the purchase of another dog. Who takes on a lifetime of responsibility based on the comments of people she doesn't know? I used to like Chateau Diaries and used to say she gets too much hate from people- maybe they are jealous. In the beginning I saw the ownership of the dog as something wonderful as they both claim to be animal people however till the arrival of Philip never saw Stef any where near animals although they had several. But when I saw the stress that little Lancelot goes through I realized he was like a toy used for content. He showed no real attachment to either one. I was surprised after day 3 of his passing she said she was already feeling better. I've not lost any of my pets so far but two are really old even seeing other pets pass or in pain and thinking of the day I will have to say goodbye to mine I burst into tears. Can't imagine how she moved on so quickly. The second one is a replica of the first which of you really loved lancelot will only trigger your saddness so generally one should refrain from getting the same breed but realized she needs an accessory for trips and a pet for content.

I've lost 2 dogs one after 12 years and one after 8, and my heart was broken worst the second and vowed never again to which I have never again got a dog. But I have watch Lancelot also and that video showed all bad traits but I saw alot of really good ones to. Lancelot was a scittish little thing very on, edge, he had walks through the woods which you saw he loved, he always wanted to be in stephs arms ans he's was always trying to get her attention by fronts paws up on her knees, correct? And yes he wriggled around an aweful lot when he was excited, he used to climbe on there shoulders and heads which on camera would look awkward. You never saw any ill treatment towards Lancaster, not once, they only ever showed love towards a pet they wanted for there family. So just leave them alone. When I lost my dog (old age!) I couldnt bear to look at another dog for months, let alone get a new one within 2? weeks, being the excact same breed! Stefanie has no emotions! The views must be getting low!!!!
It took almost six months after my previous furbaby’s death before I could even think about adopting again. While I’ve had purebred dogs they have always come from rescue societies, not purchase from breeders. Definitely not for vlog fodder.
Lancelot looked and behaved like a regular puppy in my view. It is his owners who failed to train him, groom him, trim his nails, take him to the vet for his ailed eye, transported him in improper conditions, manhandled him and put him in dangerous situations all of the time. There is nothing to suggest there was anything intrinsically "wrong" with him from a genetic and breeding standpoint.

The dog still doesn’t use his paw. 🐾 Most of those dogs are from people who breed dog as a sideline or puppy mills. This is my feeling. Also, they shouldn’t have a dog, they are irresponsible and they will rely on Marie W. to take care of their dog. This woman is also badly treated, she works 6 days per week, sleeps in dusty, moldy bedrooms without air conditioning, I didn’t even saw a fan anywhere. @@scotchette Yes, the way he was acquired is most certainly bullshit as there is no way a breeder would give a discount. However, if the dog had died due to genetic or breeding problems you best believe it that Stephanie would have milked this for everything it's worth as it would absolve her of any supposed responsibility. But from what we could observe on the vlogs, the dog seemed fairly regular whereas it was the owners who were the problem by not training him, not grooming him, not cutting his nails, not getting his leaky eye seen to, manhandling him etc. So is there a possibility that something was wrong with him from the get go? Sure. But is it more likely with what we have seen that his environment killed him? I'd say so.

Again, I'm not denying the fact Lancelot could be the result of non-ethical breeding, however I prefer to comment based on the known facts. And the known facts are that Stephanie and Philip were shit dog owners and that the dog could have been in mint condition coming out of the breeders yet still die due to the negligence of its owners. The way Miss Jarvis "handles" losing her "darling" puppy is actually quite characteristic of how she handles every bump in her road: replace and ignore. in the video where poor little Lancelot dies, they stop off at a Supermarket and Phillip buys himself some shoes and Lancelot some dry dog kibble. Why didn't they pack any of Lancelot's own kibble to take with them? They just thought so little about that dear little dog and it was all about themselves. I am disgusted and sickened that they got another Prague Ratter. That breed of dog is absolutely not suited to their over the top, chaotic lifestyle. I am sure that they love dogs and don't hate them, but they should get a breed that is more hardy and more suited to being left on its own and able to romp around and play with sheep, peacocks and other large dogs.
If the Vets could not figure out why a 4 month old puppy died, why did they hop on a plane to go pick up another dog from the same Breeder? Lancelot was like a new toy for them. I swear the entire time Philip carried that dog everywhere and at times was trying to do things with one hand. They should change the name of her channel to 'Chateau Shopper'.
Lancelot was circa 8 months and died due to a puncture wound which might have happened due to the neglect of its owners, but was very much curable had he received proper vet treatment in time. It seems like his owners, once again, failed to get him medical attention in time and did not carry out the recommended procedures which could have saved him. They got him from a breeder in Germany. The new puppy is from a breeder in Prague.

@@scotchette No I don't actually know what Lancelot died of, I'm purely going by what Stephanie has publicly said because even if she is telling the truth about the affliction that killed him it still makes them look really bad and shows they're irresponsible owners. If he had a puncture wound and was put on morphine like she said there was no reason as to why he would have to be released from the vets, he would be too sedated to be stressed, and also there was no reason to wait before getting the scan. The fact a scan was not done immediately and the dog was released back to them on morphine (according to Stephanie) indicates to me she was too cheap to get the scan and thought this would somehow "sort itself out".
I truly hope and pray that they have learned from these mistakes, although the mistake was huge, and it ended up in the loss of a young puppies life. I hope they have learned and they will do better. And for all of you who have found this video, please know that whom ever made this video made it because they love animals so very much. Let’s hope they point out how many homes Stephanie owns as she’s begging all of her fans for money to fix up her house while the rest of us regular old old people pay for our own roofs and heating systems . PS I used to really love this channel and and found out how many homes that she owns equaling lots of money and has a patron account to have people pay to repair her house. I suggest, imo, that it was Philip himself with him trying to shift the blame onto the dogs vet and away from himself and Stephanie. No professional vet in my experience ever writes that way about a fellow colleague without being cognisant of all relevant facts.

The poor puppy training, putting Lancelot at risk by allowing him to run wild with FN sheep and peacocks!!!!! and much larger dogs that are not part of the family!! leaving him constantly while they travel (leftalot someone said).... They have no clue what they are doing, either with dog husbandry or chateau renovations. All she's interested in is being in the limelight at any cost. Neither of them had owned a dog before; it shows. They need to inject some sort of cutene$$ factor somehow in a sea of decrepitude that is chateau de Lalande. Add the travel expenses, the hotel and all the rest, and here is another example of the shameful way they are literally throwing the money away. However, I do not support a possible use of RU-vid income on a decadent lifestyle with the chateau restoration seemingly taking a back seat (except for overspending on decorative items that merely gather dust). Wow this is the first time ever seeing Phillip drag Lancelot! Dogs pick their human and I always felt Lancelot chose Stephanie. Galahad snuggled up to their hair dresser and fell asleep on her shoulder. Marie & Isabel seem to really understand how to treat a dog. I genuinely believe that Stephanie loved Lancelot. Hmmm i do believe they should have waited before getting another dog. This video is disturbing…😪 I miss Lancelot.

I agree. I too was worried about the way they held him. And they should of never let him chase the sheep. I know sheep may be used to herding. But he could have gotten hurt where he is so small! I'm afraid we'll never know the truth of why Lancelot the puppy died. None of the explanations made sense; of not only how the fatal injury occured, but the two vet's instructions. Plus the fact that he was given morphin! That is highly unusual.

They can only make recommendations and the owner decides if they want to do or not the treatments. How can you tell the vet messed up when you were not there and you do not know what passed between owner and vet ? I stopped following their channel after lancelots death, initially i was devastated for them, then quickly realised his death had a more profound effect on me than any of them. Theyre vile money grabbers and she is all fur coat no knickers! Theyve still not explained his death properly! I dread poor Galahad's fate.
From what she described, he got into her sewing needles or otherwise found a needle somewhere in the car or the house just before they left on the trip. [I bet it was when she was clearing the attic.]. It perforated his gut, allowing air to fill his body cavity, and they only noticed when he bloated. They were unable to find the puncture and they couldn't stop the bloat. Eventually, it kills them. Its horrible and very painful. And it comes because they weren't watching him carefully. He was a small dog and they clearly have zero experience with any animals. But it was clearly an accident.

I just recently lost my beloved dog of 16 years. He was and is family. He us loved like a family member and best friend... I will never get another dig because no dog can replace him, and the geartache i feel is too much to bear a second time with a new dog. These people didnt love that dig - he was a prop, a toy, not a livibg creature with thoughts and feelings. If my former dog had refused to go with anyone the way Lancelot did with Philip, i would question whether that person had abused him. He behaved that way once with a groomer, and i never took him back! Dogs are a serious responsibility and not one that should be taken lightly. They are with you for many many years( hopefully) and are family members. They are not toys or props Stephanie @chateaudiaries
And they bought another dog from a backyard breeder (at best, possibly a puppy mill) within days? There is no excuse for not taking the most basic steps when buying a dog: you go and visit the breeder to check that the mother of the puppy is healthy and raised as part of a family (which means that she and the puppy are socialised). If the puppy is available within days, it is not a reputable breeder as they have a waiting list. If they need to advertise on youtube or social media, they are not reputable. If they don't grill you to make sure that their puppy will have a good home, they are not reputable breeders. As for me, I only ever had rescue dogs. Dogs are very loving beings who deserve to be loved. They are not ornaments. Still, I live in Europe and I know that anyone living in France or the UK is aware of these basic rules when buying dogs. Some prefer to ignore them.
Lancelot died apparently because of an 'inside puncture'. I agree it seemed bit a sudden and spontaneous decision to get a new Doggy, but do we really know ? The only thing witch surprised me was, Stephanie talked a lot about her grievance and sadness, Philip not. Watching Lancelot on top of Stephanies Head, made me feel uneasy ok, so I decided to ignore this situation. And by the way, aren't these type of dogs made for Handbags 🤭🤭🤭 😂

Their efforts come off as insincere and disingenuous-it's too little, too late. We see through their motives. Also, why is Galahad wearing a leash indoors, and why is he always tied to something?
That leash in the garden.he will choke by strangulation. They are ridiculous to think it is safe. The poor dog cannot escape danger now. Why would he want to be tied up outdoors. Look at her mother showing concern for the sheep and their water. Never before. Have they even had a water bowl before? Where do the peacocks drink. Why did the hens really die ? So sad. The Jarvis family should have been locked up years ago and not just because the harm they caused to animals. The mother isn't just complicit: she's the root cause of all this misery.

OK here is my two cents. I've taken the time to read all comments and understand both sides. My first thought was I'm hoping that the person or persons posting this has a degree in dog training with knowledge and authority to post a grievance like this. Now when they got Lancelot, I started to see things that wasn't the best situation for him. There is a lot that goes into being dog owners. I could see that they didn't have a clue. I really felt for the little pup. We {USA} have a great dog person, trainer named Cesar Milan. I have learned so much from watching him with dogs that need help with owners that are lost and have dogs that need help. But sadly, it's too late now and hopefully maybe someone can give some good training to Stefanie and Phillip, Thay need it. Enough said even though I could go on. Oh, one more thing, what's the purpose of having sheep???....and all the chickens disappearing all at once???

I've watched every video since they got the dog. That dog was living an amazing life. You cherry-picked scenes from when they first got him and tried to get him out for walks, and when he was settling in. One lip lick and 1 second of ears down doesn't mean anything. We adopted a dog and she has all these body language traits, none of it do to her treatment from us. So quit being such a jealous, ridiculous person with nothing better to do than to be petty, and frankly, wrong.
Lanceolot was supposed to live until at leat 15. He didn't even reach his first birthday due to neglect by his owners. He was left to roam the farm unsupervised when there was a fox that killed the chickens. He wasn't taken to the vet for his weeping eye. It's not petty to worry about a pet that has is featured in every vlog since the day he was bought.
Lancelot displayed an abnormal level of anxiety - he was a nervous wreck. He was a prop used for content, because, frankly, her content dried up. All those friends have disappeared. Even Amaury has had enough and is rarely seen in videos. How many vlogs did she make of going through a corner of her hoarding piles? Yawn. I posted this in another comment, but I think it bears repeating: she couldn’t be bothered to travel to pick up precious dahling Lancelot’s ashes, yet she had no problem trippy-trotting out of the country to purchase his replacement in an airport. And, by the way, it is against Czech Republic law to exchange/handover dogs and cats in a public place. The Czech Republic has a problem with puppy mills and has had to enact more stringent laws. No true dog person would EVER purchase a puppy without visiting the environment in which the puppy was raised, which includes meeting the mother (and father if on site). Likewise, any legitimate breeder will thoroughly vet a prospective buyer and will want to meet them in person prior to the handoff of any of their puppies. She didn’t make the comment in her video that “this seemed like a drug deal” for nothing. If Stephanie was truly an animal lover, she would have adopted from a shelter. But you know the old saying, “ money can’t buy class”. ✌🏼

Lancelot’s eyes only worsened, they never improved. As a pet owner, I would have continued to seek medical treatment until the issue was resolved. That had to be very painful for the little guy. But when I think that somebody might have taken videos of any moment where the dog was resisting following me somewhere he needed to go, such as maybe to the vet, and accuse me publicly of my dog being completely sad, how horrible that would have been when he was such a happy and well cared for dog. it seems to me that videos like this just ooze jealousy. But hey, I read an aritcle by a vet that Lancelot's condition may have resulted from chewing on a stick with a piece of the stick poking into his esophagus and causing all of the symptoms. Well, I've owned dogs and always let them chew on sticks because no one ever warned me that something like this could happen and they loved to do it. And I'm also coming from the perspective that at least one person I knew judged me for having a dog at all because I worked during the day. Well, I made a lot of arrangements for my dog to see people when I was gone and to get out. Also, I took him everywhere with me (and was criticized for that too). It seems that sometimes you just can't win. It seemed like they loved Lancelot to pieces and allowed him to be a dog. And if we have to do everything perfectly to have a dog (or to be a parent), we'll have to give up parenting and dog owning altogether because there's just not a way to be perfect at it. Anyhow, thanks for caring for the little dog Lancelot. I really liked him, and I really like Stephanie too. :-)
@@anniewolterSingWriteTravel I have never let my dogs chew on sticks as the stick and break and get stuck in there throat. Count yourself extremely luckily it didnt happen to you and maybe please get some more common sense. The same with rawhide, nasty stuff. There is great alternatives out there, let me know if you want any :)
Another one who uses the word 'jealousy', give us a break love, no one is jealous just frustrated and angry at their disgusting abuse of that poor dog.
How could anyone possibly be jealous of someone who is wealthy in financial assets, yet preys upon vulnerable people to fund her lifestyle? How could anyone possibly be jealous of someone who has zero knowledge or experience as a dog owner and refuses to take any advice which results in neglect and eventual death? I truly support difference of opinions, but for the love of God can you CD fans please come up with a more justifiable reason to pin on us non-CD-Kool-Ade drinkers and move on from the weak-as-water and old-as-dirt jealousy minutia? ✌🏼
