Great kayak . Short easily put on roof rack . In water stable and fast enough . easy to turn and manoeuvre and with skegg down goes straight as an arrow .
Why haven't you upgraded the axis. Thigh brace & hip pads maybe a ww outfitting option. New front gargo system maybe add a front bulkhead to fit better in that rec touring boat category.
Best thing to do is rent a few different types to find out what suits a person. I went to Valhalla Pure Outfiters demo day, I tried out about 6 different haul designs, and lengths and end up buying a Dagger axis 10.5. Best decisions I have ever made.
