It is really disappointing that no one uses the rinnegan as efficiently as nagato

The way pain says "shinra tensei" when destroying konoha send shivers down my spine

I wish it rained on Konoha during Pain's invasion to give it more theme and symbolism to it as well the intensity. Not to mention rain gives visual to Nagato.

Everyone seems to forget the animal path can summon the other paths as well which makes it a pretty essential support path and in a way the strongest for being able to summon the rest

The Deva path is the coolest looking.

The real reason is that NAgato probably focused more chakra into it because it was Yahiko's Body and the "true" pain and therefore should be the most powerful.

I honestly never really understood why there were 6 different pain bodies instead of just all of the abilities being put through the yahiko body but having 6 of them was visually sick.

The deva path is able to create the rain that had sensor capabilities in the rain village, so chances are the path can also use the abilities they had when they were alive.

The whole pain thing was nagato and konan didnt have a healthy way with dealing their pain and greif and created deva as the true leader of the akatuski and their dear friend to be loved and respected and feared. He was the face of the organization.

I think the animal path is severely underrated while its not clear whether the animals are created by the rinnegan or the rinnegan just summons them, if the rinnegan created them then hypothetically the rinnegan could create any animal needed with whatever power it needed it to have

This is my head canon but it’s implied and makes sense but isn’t directly confirmed: The paths of pain all have their own base strength/speed/power level based on the body they were in. I think this is true because Yahiko is implied to be at least good enough as a ninja to lead a threatening group. Meanwhile the animal pain’s second body (female) was a novice ninja and she’s shown being saved by other pains and is also never directly engages in taijutsu, whereas the other animal path was clearly stronger in the fight with Jiraiya. So they have base levels from the host body. It also explains why the pains all fight different levels of opponents during the invasion. From there they receive rinnegan amps and abilities and Nagato can also focus more energy into them to make them stronger like he did with Tendo Pain.

I wonder if pumping enough chakra in the asura path makes it become like a giant mecha or something, that it'll be so cool 🤣

Deva Path is undoubtedly the most powerful. Animal Path is also super OP in its own way. The invincible dog summon can infinitely multiply and arbitrarily increase FoV. I hope that in the rewrite Pain uses his Paths even more optimally by using thousands of unkillable dog summon clones to simulate an insectlike compound eye and increase reaction speed (Animal Path was never used this way in canon)

Very important question Who taught Nagato those jutsu? Or all the powers he had just popped up in his head?

You know what I always wondered? Why didnt Naruto use Shadow Clones more in part 1? In the first episode we see him use it to make hundereds, but later on in the Land of Waves all the way up to Tsunade Arc, we never see him use it to that extent, only once against garra.

Imagine if Nagato just showed up solo instead of being a puppet master.

I have a question. How powerful would Pain be if all the individual paths are as powerful as the Deva path? For example let's say Animal Path can summon large numbers of immortal animals that won't go down (let's say 20 Chimera dogs summonings), Human Path can do the soul dragon jutsu, and so on.

my theory is that for each different user of the rinnegan they might specialize in a different path better. Nagato was best with the deva path so his deva was far stronger, meanwhile we see madara using the path that absorbs things far more so maybe madara was best with that path. If we had more rinnegan users who used the core rinnegan abilities we might see another who has far better control over the king of hell or another who has far more control over the summons.

It's hilarious that the one who actually didn't awaken the rinnegan is the most effective user of it. Also if nagato wasn't dying at that moment i guess he might be pumping out the greatest chibaku tensei in the series like the real awakeners of rinnegan.

The other paths are more singular in how they fight aside the animal path who can summon giant stampedes of summons. Meanwhile yahiko has tons of aoe moves like wiping out the village and many good single target styles that keeps you from escaping. The almighty push sounds simple but its so broken

What I wanna know is why the path bodies never showed signs of decay. They arent revived souls in another body, they're corpses being used like puppets. So why does paths like Tendo not start to show signs of being a living corpse? I don't think Chakra can fight off the natural decay process of a dead body.

It makes sense emotionally. Yahiko meant a lot to Nagato and thus he wanted to make him so powerful that he wouldn't have to lose him again.

It's not implied that Nagato brought in Asura because he was being pressured too hard by Kakashi, that is complete head canon. Kakashi was thinking of a way to get passed Tendo's ability before he got some backup. Also the argument that Kakashi had a second plan doesn't mean it would have worked, only that he had a possible out if his plan didn't work. This wasn't a 1v1, but from what we saw, Kakashi was on the backfoot until they both got reinforcements. Wether that was deliberate to gather intel on Tendo or not.

Well there is a very simple reason for this and this is within its name samsara eye basically the six path are based on the 6 types of reincarnations and the heavenly types of reincarnation are the strongest deva and asura and the demonic types are weaker

If we put every ninja in Dragon Ball or at least those that commonly use taijutsu like Might Guy or Rock Lee and ignoring chakra levels but going by training, what would their power levels be? I say ignore chakra because it would be too complicated to factor in and would make certain characters like Naruto or Hashirama absurdly strong, even for Dragon Ball. Though, not the strongest or even top 20.

Obito's Six Paths of Pain are weird because while I can understand the narrative reasons for them to not use the Rinnegan's powers aka... they will be too powerful. The excuse proposed is frail at best because the "Obito have not the chakra to use them" should not be a problem. All the Paths had the power (and chakra storage) of a Tailed Beast... probably any of the Paths had more chakra than nagato and one of the paths (and Obito) was also capable of siphon away chakra from the enemies to the chakra usage should not be an issue. Simply Obito used the powers avaliable to him poorly. Of course this ignoring the fact that Obito himself should have plenty of Chakra to start with due his body is made roughtly 50% of Hashirama's cell. So while the out of universe reason is quite clear and understandable, the proposed in-world one is not

A drained Deva Path defeated Naruto 6 tail clock p2 with catching it in chibaku tensei (which was imperfect). Naruto was dead if it weren't for the Shunra tensei or if Pain went in intent to kill from start

Maybe it's the same reason why the nine tails is so much stronger. When Nagato shared the powers among the paths of pain he meant for the Deva to be the real powerhouse while the rest would be meant more for support. The Ashura path wasn't as destructive, but could keep in place strong opponents enough for the Deva to take them out with minimal effort. Same with the summoner, a ninja that can only summon even if the summons are strong will be at at a disadvantage against really strong or fast opponents, but working together with other paths will give it enough time to send out strong summons that will stall powerful oponents just enough for Deva to prepare. Even the one who absorbs chakra has amazing defense against ninjutsu but is incapable of doing significant damage alone, so he protects the Deva until he's read to destroy the enemy. Similarly the sage of six paths gave Kurama the greatest volume of chakra and destructive power and someone who actually manages to bond with it will have abilities more similar to that of the ten tails jinchuriki, meanwhile the other tailed beasts won't be as strong, but will have really useful abilities, like Chomei's flight, Shukaku's defense, Son's lava or Saiken's acid powers.

An alternative theory would be that rinnegan users tend to be more skilled with some paths more than others and Nagato's best path is the Deva path. It would explain why other rinnegan users don't spam the Deva path.

Deva path just has the most potential, gravity manipulation is pretty OP in general while the rest of the paths are just outclassed, one note, and at worst redundant. Asura path is really the only other one that has versitlity but really gets no love. Sasuke doesn't even use it once. If its kit was expanded upon maybe it could be as powrful as Deva but its ignored. Human and Preta path are very powerful paths but pretty much have no versitlity. maybe that makes up for them being one note but it just means they have fewer options for attacks than Deva and even Asura path Animal path is a funny one andd always confused me. is just being the guy who summons the monsters really something worth being path itself? its not like naruto has guys who ONLY summon beasts. also where does animal even get its summons from? so weird Naraka Path actually feels redundant. his job is to just call a demon up

Unpopular opinion: Nagato’s use of the six paths was suboptimal. If they all share the same field of vision, the dumbest thing you can do is have them all stand next to each other and look in the same direction. Nagato does this several times.

Because Pain is actually 6 different characters controlled by nagato, also pain is the main antagonist of this arc. The main antagonist needs to be remarcable so kishimoto had to chose one of the paths or nagato to "represent" Pain, if he have given the same amount of attention to all the paths of pain and nagato none of them would be very interesting as the main antagonist, so he chose the deva path. The problem is that kishimoto is a smooth brain so he couldnt come up with any other way to make the deva path more remarcable than the other paths other than writing him ridicoulously stronger than them
