My grandmother lived through this. Her stories about it were incredible... she said dust was everywhere, in your eyes, your nose, your ears. The wid would cut your skin. She said her mother had to make them eat under a wet sheet because if you ate too much dust you would poop blood.

Why the Dust Bowl Was the Most Devastating Drought in US History 1359pm 10.5.23 again... something which could have been prevented. intensive industrial farming techniques, perhaps, also being a cause... that and allowing the original farmers of the region to suffer and lose their farms and land rights.. resettlement programmes being the key, here. even children in the Uk learn about this along with the issues facing enforced collectivisation in the USSR...
