Ok so Spider-man No Way Home is a film that has really stuck with me. In my initial review I said it had one of the best endings to a Marvel Movie ever but since then as I've thought on it more I really can't think of many films in general that top those final few scenes.
Outside of maybe The Matrix, The Godfather, Inception or The Dark Knight Rises there's few finales that have had such an impact on me and left me cry...sorry...getting goosebumps time and time again.
I've now seen the movie three times and every single time that I get to the conclusion I realise just how well crafted and bitter sweet of a final chapter this is for the first Tom Holland Spider-man Trilogy.
Throughout this video we are gonna be breaking it down but there obviously will be Heavy Spoilers. If you enjoy it then please click the thumbs up and make sure you subscribe so you don't forget about us.
With that out the way, thanks for clicking this, now let's get into the breakdown.
Now the movie itself picks up right after the events of Far From Home with Peter's identity out there. Though the heat from the press and police somewhat dies down, it clearly affects not only himself but also his friends and family.
Ned and MJ are very much pulled into the court of public opinion along with him and because of this their college applications are rejected.
During the Damage Control interrogation, there's a subtle little line in which the officer says MJ is a smart young woman with a bright future ahead of her but he also pays lip service to the fact that she's ruined it by getting involved with Peter Parker. Later on The Green Goblin taunts Peter by saying that though he struck the blow that killed Aunt May, he was the one who killed her by being the reason she was there.

I just found the ending to be beautiful. Peter is all by himself now. His friends, girlfriend, even the Avengers forgot about him. He is his own person now and it’s up to him decide what he will do with the powers he has now. “With great power comes great responsibility”. This movie truly showed the soul of Spiderman and what he stands for and that is why I consider No Way Home to be one of the best Spiderman movies out there.

The final swing is heartbreaking. It symbolizes peter learning his lesson, like it did with the Tobey and Andrew movies. But this one hits different because he is truly all alone. So it's cannon, now, across all versions of Spiderman, in ALL incarnations, all reboots, the original comics by Steve Ditko, all incarnations wherevthey are still alive, that nobody knows who Peter Parker is. Not Gwen Stacy. Not Betty Brandt. Not MJ. Not Uncle Ben. Not Aunt May. Not Peters parents. Alive or dead. EVERYWHERE. NOBODY. Peter Parker is alone and unknown in all of them. Stan Lee's greatest legacy has been officially erased from existence. Unwritten. Undone. IN CANON. Stan Lee HAS no legacy, anymore.Disney is turning it into pure cash grabbing, Roman Gladatorial combat. They are erasing all of the humanity and conscience from the entire Marvel Comic Universe and making clear for everyone that MCU is THEIRS.BIT HAS ALWAYS BEEN. that Stan Lee is a nothing and a nobody and always has been. Because that’s who Spider-Man is and arguably why he’s the all time best superhero. Spiderman and like batman is defined by their past trauma .Peter Parker got powers and became a self absorbed and arrogant and self persevering. He paid the ultimate price by losing his uncle. By denying to stop that robber he caused his uncle death. And has to live with the fact that he could done something that night 🌙. That will forever hunt him. I do want Spiderman to be happy but as Peter Parker he has become the most relatable character in all of fiction. With all his flaws and human behavior the bills the bad apartments bad relationships and friendship having a hard time keeping a job. But he still tries and carries on remembering who he is and not letting Aunt may or uncle Ben deaths be in vain and using his gift to make a difference. I know superman is the iconic hero but Spiderman is the definition of scarfice and not getting the recognition but trying to do the right thing no matter what.

I realized after No way home that the criticism for Tom Holland's spiderman being too dependent on stark tech and there being too many people to help him out is actually the arc for his character in this trilogy. In Homecoming he was not fully in control of his powers and was struggling with the stark tech suit but by the end he proved to be not only worthy of the suit but also became much more control of his powers. In Far From Home he not only started trusting his spidey-sense he also built the suit from the fabricator that he wanted to build instead of it being pre-built which meant that he is even more in control of his powers and is now confident working alone without having anyone to fall back on. Finally in No Way Home after the death of Aunt May,he realizes that he has to take the responsibility that comes with his power without anyone being there to help him out whatsoever as he stitched his own suit from scratch without any kind of tech. The elements of "struggling with the new power then being in fully control of them", "trusting the spidey-sense", "accepting responsibility that comes with his power", "learning to sacrifice for the safety of loved ones" were explored in The first Raimi Spiderman and also The Amazing Spiderman. So when people said they didn't want another origin movie for Spiderman, John Watts gave us a origin trilogy. We got The Vulture, The Shocker, Mysterio, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Lizard, Sandman, Electro and a live action spiderverse all in one trilogy without compromising on the story. I think that's genius.

Wow, you've added so much more context, meaning and purpose to (what was already a very good) movie! I think one thing that's worth mentioning is how the writers referenced the 'struggles' (and demons) of the earlier Spiderman movies - Tobey's rage and Andrew's regret - and managed to weave it meaningfully in the final scenes. I mean, think about it - they didn't just make the Andrew/Tobey appear as part of fan-service. Their stories had meaning, and (in a way) helped shape the outcome in Tom's Spiderverse. Well done Marvel story writers.

They also both lose literally everything though and it hurts.

I loved the movie, i loved Tom Holland's version of Spiderman, so much. The ending was very emotional. Zendaya's tear as she wispered to him "I love you" was an emotional uppercut that KOed me. I think that Peter Parker "planted the seed" in MJ's heart and that's what makes it even more beautiful. In the coffee shop, when MJ said "i don't really get excited about things, i kind of expect disappointment", Peter finished her sentence by saying "Cause then you'll never actually be disappointed" - notice the look on her face and how she showed surprise - maybe because this was a life moto that she shared with her close friends only, so how could he possibly have known... Spiderman is a human being. Peter Parker will eventually have relationships in his life. He can't avoid it. He needs a job, he is preparing for MIT as well, so he is going to attend the same college with his friends. He kept the coffee cup and the lego toy. He clearly doesnt want to forget them. The "I'll see you around" line alone, would refer to the fact that as Spiderman, he will watch over her. But with the cup of coffee and the lego toy he kept, these items may reveal intentions. I mean, his friends dont remember him as Spiderman but that doesnt mean that he cant relate to them. Now he knows how to protect his identity and also knows what would be the cost of revealing his identity to them. It would be a really nice plot twist to see Peter Parker - after leaving the coffee shop - to throw away that paper in his back pocket that explains everything - to the same bin where MJ will throw away garbage before leaving the shop. MJ still wears the necklace that Peter gave her, weeks after the Statue of Liberty event. She repeated his name many times so if she reads the letter, some things like the necklace, would finally have a reasonable explanation, so she will make the connection and might start to remember again. She's a clever girl. I trust her :)

This movie is phenomenal and that final act made me realise something, all 3 of Tom Holland's spiderman films are all part of one long origin story for peter. Each movie has peter learn something from them. In Homecoming he learns to simply take his time with his life while also having to rely on himself in the final act, in Far From Home he learns to believe in himself more and he is worthy of being a protector of the Earth and in No Way Home he learns that sometimes you can't have everything you want and sometimes you gotta give something up, even our dreams, and he finally gets the "Great power great responsibility" line and that final swing has now shown that Peter has learnt what it means to be Spider-Man. One of the coolest full circle aspects is that the first time we see Tom's Spider-Man onscreen is when he catches Captain America's shield, and the last time we see "this" particular MCU Spider-Man is him standing on Cap's shield after its fallen from the Statue of Liberty. (Even though we see him talk to Ned and MJ in costume afterwards, that's really "Peter" talking).

God bless Sam Raimi and Tobey Mcguire for jumpstarting the modern superhero genre, but Tom Holland is just so damn charismatic and perfect for the role. I really hope he shows up in a dozen future MCU films and eventually gets a fourth standalone. If Thor gets a fourth movie, why not the literal face of Marvel comics. Watched No Way Home yesterday and I gotta say it was AMAZING! One thing I really loved about the ending is that even though Peter is all alone on Christmas, he still has hope that things will soon be better in the future even though he will still have to face more trials and struggles as Spider-Man. Even if he might not ever be friends with MJ or Ned again, at least he know that one day he will have relationships again someday. The final web swinging sequence at Christmas time made me feel hope. Even though Christmas can’t always solve our problems or Spider-Man can’t always save the ones he loves or get the things he wants, Christmas/Spider-Man still have and give hope to others and themselves during their hard fights in life. I also love how the theme of hope was present in giving the villains second chances at escaping their fate of death. This is the reason Spider-Man is one of my favorite superheroes of all time and why I find him so relatable to me. Whereas other people or heroes might give up once they’re at the end of their line and be done for, Spider-Man never lets fear or despair get the better of him- he continues to fight for himself and for the people he loves. He lets me know that when the people I love are gone, there is still so much in this life that’s worth fighting for. Whoever wrote the script for this movie, understood the character of Spider-Man and I believe he/she deserves an Oscar for it! This movie was the best Christmas gift we all will have received and I believe Stan Lee was smiling in heaven when he saw this amazing film paying tribute to the one superhero who represents hope and everyone of us… Spider-Man!

There are so many reasons I love this movie, but here are the main ones I think it deserves to be talked about: 1. Delves into series themes about mental / physical health - It's okay to not be okay, and to seek help. Note how both heroes and villains were often at war with themselves and in need of healing / repair / redemption. 2. Everyone deserves a second chance. Even the heroes and villains. Everyone. 3. It's easy to justify decisions with the "greater good" but it's much harder yet more rewarding to save those around us, one person at a time Morals aside, there were so many feels with this one! Even with the spoilers, being able to see these characters share the screen together was so surreal, I still couldn't believe it had happened the day after I'd watched the film! Would definitely have to rewatch it a few more times.

He lost everything, his only family, his friends, his life, his goals to accomplish something like going to M.I.T other than just being a superhero, even his tech given to his mentor/second father figure in his life. I get that in the comics. He can not get a break, and he is supposed to struggle with what he has to put up with every day of being both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. I hope somewhere in the future, Peter will try his best to fix his life, even though he kind of hits rock bottom, and he has to start all over again before he meets his hero. How does it feel like a closing chapter, please help me. The end is so depressing, peter is left all alone in the whole world(literally), the great chemistry between the characters of peter, ned and Mj will never be seen again. I am sorry if I sound bitter, it's just it doesn't feel like a closure and I cannot handle things with no closure.

The ending was seriously done so well. The emotions were running so high and they ended it very maturely for a Peter Parker coming out of high school

The final swing of this movie is the best final swing of any Spider-Man movie to me. The shift that Peter makes toward being a man is everything a Spider-Man movie should be.
