Leonard Peltier, the longest-held Indigenous political prisoner in the U.S., had his first parole hearing in over a decade on Monday. Peltier, an activist who started organizing with the American Indian Movement (AIM) in the 1970s, has spent nearly 50 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Nick Tilsen, president and CEO of NDN Collective, joins the show to discuss why the US government has continuously denied Peltier’s parole and the decades-long fight for his freedom.
