@@andrewmueller9986I'm a Washington fan, and what Fisch is building in Seattle is crazy exciting. It's been super underreported in the national media too. I think that Washington is going to surprise the heck out of everyone next year. I've especially noticed that a lot of the zero fans have quit running their mouths (always a good sign). It's way too early to tell for sure, and I'm trying to temper my expectations. However, I'm legitimately more excited for next football season than I've ever been.

My favorite argument to discuss as a Duck fan coming into the Big is the weather argument. We don’t know what cold is. True, I’ve spent a couple winters in Montana and Oregon does not get anywhere close to that cold. But…. It is a different cold. I can’t wait to host y’all when it is 38 and raining in Oregon, you’ll find out. Yet, the most interesting stat is that most all of OUR (yours and mine) skill players aren’t from a cold state anyway, most come from warm places, they all hate the cold. Excited to be here, thanks for the invite! I hope and expect we will rep the Big well. PS if your coming to Oregon for any game this year, hit me up I will help make sure you have a good time and are well fed at my tailgate. ✌️

As a Duck fan ...I think we need to remember that on any given Saturday you can win or lose no matter who you play. Yes it's a lot harder for teams on the bottom to win against the top teams. But how many games do we see a team and you wonder how in the world did they win. Thai's part of the fun and misery about football. I was around in the days when the only games Oregon had a chance of winning was the Civil War game against Oregon State. To see where we are now is really amazing. My son-in-law is a Michigan graduate so that will make that game even more fun. Here's to a great season in the BIG-10 (so weird to be saying that) in 2924.🏈😀🙃🙃

The problem is that B1G teams are built around November's weather. So every team is built to take the cold and to take and dish-out punishment no matter how bad their record becomes. The punishment week in and week out builds to an exhaustive November when the crappy weather rolls in. To the extent that the Pac teams do not have to play in the Midwest in November, the more likely they can win the conference. Nebraska found out about the B1G weather and punishing teams, and they have been mediocre since they've joined the B1G. Nevertheless, as a B1G fan, I look forward to having the Pac-4 in the B1G. Good luck guys. Looking forward to Washinton at Kinnick.

If you want to take stats with context, then possibly there were a lof of bad defenses in the PAC12 and that helped Oregon's offense finish #2 statistically. Contextualize all teams stats, not just the teams that aren't your favorite.

Love the vid! I think UCLA’s floor may actually be lower, but their ceiling may be higher. We have a veteran QB, lots of the offense coming back, and the locker room is galvanized. We could easily win 2 of the 5 big games. That being said, if the HC hire goes south and we have bad off/def playcalling, we could get trampled, and we have a crazy tough stretch at the beginning to get through. I’d say floor 3-9, ceiling 9-3 due to the huge variability.

The conferences are becoming absurd. The Big Ten is an upper Midwestern Conference. It's bad enough that Penn State, Maryland, and Nebraska are in the conference. I’ll make 2 points. Firstly, the 4 teams entering the Big 10 have an overall Rose Bowl record against current Big 10 teams of 32-20. That said, the overall best that these teams give can more than compete with the top of the Big 10. Secondly this weather myth. When will a game be played outdoors in Big Ten country past the last week of November? Never. Even the Championship game is indoors. As for the Oregon over OSU win in 2021: OSU was stacked on offense that season, and had above average talent on defense but had statistically one of their 2 worst defenses of the last 20 seasons in 2021. They had a terrible DC who was a last minute desperation hire. That OSU defense gave up 26 ppg in 2021. 1. UW is far higher in all of these metrics when you remove the Jimmy Lake effect. Jedd Fisch in a few weeks has already tied Deboer for his highest ranked overall class at UW. Peterson had UW consistently inside the top 20 on recruiting and he was very particular about how he recruited. 2015-2020 26, 29, 22, 16, 15, 16 UW is easily comparable to Penn State in recruiting with the right leadership. Recruiting wise: Oregon and USC are comparable to Ohio and Mich. UCLA could be higher but they got some things to figure out. Also, the B1G is gonna experience offense unlike what they’ve seen for a while. Also, UW is historically a defensive school. Don’t get fooled by the couple of offensive coaches in recent years. 80% of the US population lives from the middle of Texas to the East Coast. 18% live on the West Coast. All 4 of these teams live in the major population zone of the west. They also have access to the islands for some of their Big Boys.

UCLA should be higher but their ceiling is still lower than the rest of the PAC to BIG teams. UCLA will always be 2nd fiddle in their own city. Not only that I honestly believe it will be harder for UCLA to keep guys that the blue bloods (USC,Oregon,OhioSt, Michigan) pass on. If UCLA going for a 3 star player I honestly think it will be harder to keep them now. In past they might be battling Oregon State or Arizona for that player. Now they may be battling Nebraska or Michigan State. And thats IF UCLA can get its financials and NIL in line. UCLA having money problems so it might take 5 years in Big 10 to even get to competitive level financially and then you have to assume the attitude of the administration towards football changes too. UCLA got a uphill battle for sure but I agree the other 3 PAC to BIG teams are in good shape for the short and long term.

Michigan was 14th over last three seasons and appeared in the CFP in all three years and cumulated with a natty this year. I’m not sure how you think Oregon has a cakewalk. Okay I have multiple issues 1) Gotta look at recruiting classes in a present day tense with how fluid CFB is nowadays. Only the elite teams are sustainable year after year. Coaching changes are frequent, especially OCs and DCs in p5 and that means new schemes, new recruits, new everything, thanks to the lovely carousel . With Nebraska for example, that 3 year span u mentioned includes the final year of scott frost, which was an awful rankings wise. 41st nationally, one of the worst p5 classes in the nation. The next 2 years, Nebraska has had Matt Rhule out-recruited that Frost class by a mile each year. And another thing about them, when you mention Nebraska's recruiting pipeline states, those states change with the coaching changes. When they joined the B1G, Pelini was fired less than 2 years later. He was the one with those connections on his staff. Mike Riley, his replacement, recruited awfully, not even close to the same level as Pelini. Mostly because he avoided those states Pelini was in. Same with Frost. He put together better classes, but his staff lacked the player development aspect. They used to put multiple guys in the league every year via the draft, and it quickly became 1 or even 0. Every staff has their different areas because of their coaching staff's previous locations they coached at though. Rhule is re-establishing that Texas pipeline fwiw, as well as Philly, and currently building key relationships in the Iowa-Kansas-Missouri area, which is blowing up in this 2025 class and the upcoming 2026 class. He has also dominated the instate rankings recently as well, which neither Riley or Frost did. Those guys practically ignored instate recruits. Teams used to come in and take the #1 player in the state for free every year. 2) You mentioned UCLA has money. Compare their staff's salaries to any of the current B1G teams. Shit, even take Nebraska for example, since we're on that topic. It's a night and day difference. UCLA's money is as close to a non-factor as possible. It's the sole reason why Dante Moore left. They couldn't pay him. They have juniors leaving for the draft and other dudes hitting the portal too, even before the coaching change. Maybe if the new coach can get the donors pumped up, they'll have money to pay their players, but idk. Doesn't seem likely. Maybe I'm being over critical, who knows. Still a great video though. I believe all 4 are legit, and especially Oregon. I'm a little skeptical of UCLA, mainly because of their beast of a schedule but at the end of the day, teams are getting better and better. I swear it seems CFB is more competitive every year.

They are in a complete rebuild and will be irrelevant for a while. They have 1 returning starter. Lanning has been an elite recruiter and this will really be the first year he’s getting all of his guys on the field that he recruited. He’s only been at Oregon 2 years and he lost to 1 team last year and won a NY6 bowl. Oregon is going to be elite, there’s no arguing it. They have a top 4 roster in the entire country already, and they are dominating in recruiting and the portal alongside Ohio State. Those two teams will run the B1G for the foreseeable future. Michigan is TBD. Washington will struggle to go .500 this year.

@@KFBALL247 “Overall” ranking includes transfers. It was too late for Fisch to do much in the 2nd phase of recruiting so most of his work was done through the portal. They are 21st in the Portal and 29th overall. My hot take is that if KDB stays then his recruiting class is probably around 22nd and he had the opportunity to land a massive transfer class with the coaching turnovers following Saban and Harbaugh leaving. Can you imagine what KDB could have done if he stayed at UW and got to poach talent from these schools????? Natty runner up with openings for immediate playing time and 3 returning starters on the o-line. UW could have done an immediate reload.

Good vid. I agree, they will be able to compete. I think Oregon will do well in 2024. USC and Washington will have limited success. UCLA won't but may do well later but not for several years, until they sign a good coach.

Washington will take a step back, but they will not be a anything like a pushover... USC might surprise a few people... UCLA is in trouble, but Oregon... Oregon is not only a Big 10 contender but it's also a legitimate national conference contender... Period. So many preconceptions.... The PAC 12 was ridiculously last year.

A lot of the most overconfident Big 10 fans almost seem to pretending like they are absorbing the entire Pac12. They are in fact absorbing the 4 best Pac12 teams. All of these schools have good NIL, good access to one of the nations best recruiting hotspots, and a history of success. Michigan, Ohio State, and to a lesser degree Penn State all have plenty of reasons to be overconfident. They have traditionally had plenty of reasons to be confident in their own conference. The rest of the Big10 schools are delusional if they think that they are set to dominate the additions. Really, this addition will more than likely increase the disparity between the schools at the top of the conference, and the bottom.

Yea i dont think any of them is going to take a major step back. The only team junping leagues that signed their own death warrant is the Oklahoma Sooners. Theyre used to winning 10 a year and pushing for the playoffs but they are not at all built to handle SEC teams. Almost every time they play an SEC team its not just a close loss, its a total spanking on the line of scrimmage. Texas will be fine but not the Sooners, my opinion.

@@ronlowney4700 K, you're weird. I was agreeing with you, and your comment about the top end of each conference. I was just adding the historic bottom end of each conference too. Heres the facts. Heres every one of the schools in my comments all time bowl record. Oregon State: 12-8. 3 Rose bowls. Washington state: 8-10. 4 Rose bowls. Cal: 12-12-1. 8 Rose bowls. Minnesota: 12-12. 2 Rose Bowls. Illinois: 8-12. 5 Rose Bowls. Rutgers: 7-5. 0 Rose Bowls. (I am aware of Rutgers not being historically a Big 10 team.) Those records are pretty similar. However, the PAC12 edges way out with their Rose Bowls. The amount of Rose bowl appearances of traditionally lower tier Pac12 teams just speaks to the historic parity of the conference. Maybe you're a fan of one of the teams that I included on the low tier list. If so, then don't blame me. I wasnt talking trash on any of these schools. Just stating facts. There's a reason why those 3 schools were the last get invites, or didn't get invites to join other conferences. What part of my comment was feelings? Wtf man!

Easily compete is insane. Oregon will succeed the fastest. Washington is replacing 20 of 22 starters plus a HC. It'll take them awhile. USC is just overrated in general and UCLA sucks. Recruiting WRs is not the same as recruiting O-Line and D-Line. USC has no trenches. For context, Utah dominated the PAC-12 but is 1-6 all time against the B1G including 2 losses to Northwestern over the last 4 years. When people say the PAC-12 can't hang, it's because they don't play a full 9 game B1G schedule. One nonconference or bowl game doesn't matter. Nebraska had high hopes too until the grind. 😂

I remember when majority saying Oregon doesn’t belong in the BIG10 and have no value. Turned out it’s one of the most valuable in the end. And now suddenly many realize how valuable this proram is. People can’t compare 20 years ago to now. If you’re going back from the past, you’re stupid. When someone is bitter, he/she will keep saying negative and they will continue doing it. Nowadays, it’s all about money and popularity. Meaning, if you’re popular in the eyes of people you get attention. Same with viewership in entertainment. Sports draws big time viewers. That’s how media companies make money. Universities are becoming well known worldwide because of sports medias. And it’s good for them. Accept the facts people. Say all you want
