Am 100% in support of the youth movement to increase agricultural productivity in Nigeria, we also need to find out ways to tackle issues in our farming system such as lack of agricultural implements

Diggning deeply into this consideration for some time I came to understand several aspects to this scope of understanding...... the challenges can be understood to be more on the shifting of perspectives from farmers and farming to what agriculture is and how its works. To over simplify a much more diverse subject... it came to my mind from the understanding that humans and human societies have become consumers where historically people and communities were producers.... which was born of necessity, yes? Now humans over the world look to engage in farming and agriculture more from a consumers scope of activity...... this is where the economics of agriculture have many forms of production...... there is much to relearn about farming, agriculture, its human and social value and potential as its far more than food security or economic development alone.

Fortunately this conversation has been successfully growing for quite a long time and has certainly met the sectors in society that have overlooked agriculture for many years as well..... one reference to look into on the African continent is the Savory Institute with its founders who are still alive and readily share their experience and practices to grow local stability and economies wholly based in agriculture and its many forms. Another developed resource is Jeff Lawton, out of Australia who understand the creation of the elements necessary to grow arable land etc. agriculture and the potential in current society is far more valuable than money alone......

That 500 acre or hectares that the Emir leased to you is now covered with crops for most of the year and not left bare to heat and all the other elements. Lack of extension services and conservation practices are the things that stood out to me on my research trip to Nigeria. That was over 10 years ago, but thanks to folks like you things are changing. So much resources and opportunities in Africa. Congrats to you and your team.

I need to meet this man. Farming challenge is one of our major crisis in Nigeria. How do we solve that. Food scarcity and insecurity has eaten us up. Only the rich has access to food in Nigeria. Students can't focus on their academics because of food problem. Imagine, what do we do, how do we implement technology to solve farming problem.

Watching this in 2024. We missed out on a lot of the slides he used in the presentation. This video would have been more interesting with those slides in the video.
