It’s not about the dress. If the mother was not a smoke show and was unattractive in the same dress, this would not make the news. The mom is gorgeous as is the bride. If they are happy, it’s nobody’s concern!

She didn't wear something white and somewhat bridal looking. She didn't wear something trashy looking. She wore a dress that was tasteful, elegant, and appropriate. The fact that she looks almost as young as her daughter is what's really the issue with some people.

Yep, your right on that point, it was the same for me and my Mom when I got married, I cannot wear white I have very, very pale skin colouring so my wedding dress I designed was made of gold crape Satin with ivory chiffon over skirt based on 17th century dress, my Mom wore baby blue chiffon dress that I designed for her, at the start there were grumbling until Mom proudly stated I had designed the dress specially for her for my Day, we looked like sisters once I hit 17, we always played on that fact as we loved the look of shock when ever I called her Mom. I have no idea why people have become so over sensitive about Mothers and Mother-in-laws looking just as great as the bride. It’s like everyone is expecting every woman at the wedding to turn into mountain trolls so that the bride would outshine them all. Funny I thought that’s why the bride got to wear the most elaborate and stunning outfit in the whole group.

She screamed at me for complaining that she’d used a tan thread to finish the front and it was so obvious and ugly, right there in the front center. Told me I was going through with the wedding because she’d already paid for it when I said I couldn’t do it while we were going to march down the aisle. Such fond memories…

That dress was appropriate and she and her daughter look amazing. Not everyone has to wear something frumpy and dowdy. I think the only person that can have an opinion about it is the bride. I’m sure her mother showed her before hand and they spoke about it.

I wore a beautiful floral dress to my daughters wedding. My daughter was thrilled. She wanted me to wear a dress where I felt beautiful. We went together to pick it it out. I tried on several and it was the one we both loved. This mother looked stunning, as did the bride. Look at how beautiful the photo is! These women are both feeling amazing and it shows in the photo. You shouldn't have to wear some frumpy Mother Of The Bride dress thinking it will make your daughter shine. Most mother of the bride chiffon dresses look awful in photo's. I don't know who thought chiffon looked. Wear what will make you both shine!

This is why social media is so wrong! People think they can just shame anyone because they are hidden from anyone knowing who they are. Who cares if she had that dress on, she looks amazing! Why would anyone think that the daughter and mother didn’t talk about this prior to the event? Please be kinder people, it would be a much nicer place to live if everyone just stopped judging, and lead with kindness. ♥️

I believe if the bride (daughter) is comfortable and fine with it, there shouldn’t be any issues. Her mother looks great and the bride who will always be the main star of the wedding, is happy with her mother’s dress. It’s nobody’s business. That dress is lovely! 💕

Right on the nose! I wore the most horrible bridesmaids gown to my girlfriends wedding! I let my girls choose their dresses along as it came in Bangkok Teal. They looked gorgeous and were even able to reuse for Christmas parties. More Bangkok for your buck!😊😊😊

@@dianewilliams1125 Those are the brides I respect - realizing that 1. their wedding party comes in all shapes & sizes, 2. those dresses are so expensive why would you not want your *friends* and family to reasonably be able to re-use them if desired? I really do love when the bridal party are in shades of ___ color - that also allows for how different colors are going to compliment different people. The gorgeous mint or sea-green that would look *amazing* on my sister would make me look ten shades of sallow & unhealthy, vs a lovely pink would work for me while being *wrong* for her (I'm neutral-to-cool toned coloring while Sis is decidedly warm-toned in coloring)

There is a sick contention out there that value women only by there appearance, and therefore believe they compete with each other 24/7. Because, hey, we couldn't possibly love and support each other and just celebrate each other's joy together.Mother and Daughter not only look, but are, amazing. Appropriate. She’s stunning. It’s great. Both look great. What’s the fuss? I’d wear that dress. I wore a beautiful silk brocade gold & peach suit w/ a mink collar trim to my son’s wedding. It was gorgeous. SO WAS THE BRIDE! I was 55 she was much more beautiful at 25.

It just shows how close the Mother and Daughter really are. Each of them wanted the other to look their best and share the special day together. I have a few friends who share very close relationships with their daughters and are more like sisters once the daughter is an adult. They go shopping and do lunch together and yes, even picked out their gowns together. Each time the daughter wanted her mom to look her absolute best. 😇😊💗

I would of chose that dress too! My daughter's wedding the maid of honor wore a beautiful floral print champagne, lavender, and sage. Bridesmaids in lavender and champagne. Flower girl's in ivory. Mother in champagne. Bride ivory. Everyone looked stunning!

I remember my mother being talked into a beautiful coral, puckered chiffon dress for my brother’s small wedding. My mother was always slim but curvy. My parents were painting the house so were sun tanned. The bride’s mother was matronly in a blue lace dress. The contrast was obvious but no stink was made about it. If anyone noticed, they kept their opinions to themselves.

The mom looks lovely and so she should. I wore white to a wedding once too, a conservative white suit with a dark polka dot collar. And yes, some people got upset 🙄 I certainly did not upstage the bride nor did I know intend to. I also wear white after Labour Day. Dumb rules!

When my best friend got married her mom was really excited. Way too excited considering this wasn’t her wedding. She stuck her nose in absolutely every wedding decision, God bless my friend and her now husband for having limitless patience because I had my own disagreements with her when we were planning my friend’s bachelorette party. Anyways, when we got to the wedding day the mom arrived wearing this Met gala / Oscar’s like dress with the biggest train and in a special car like it was her wedding. And in the middle of the reception before the dad/daughter dance she came out making an entrance dancing with a different bring-all-the-drama gown, considering my friend is a very simple nice girl who only had one dress my jaw was on the floor.

I don’t know any mother or mother-in-law that doesn’t ask for the brides opinion and input on the dress they decide to wear. In fact my son’s wife and her mom went shopping together and I would have gone too if I could have. My point is, the wedding is the bride and the grooms day to celebrate their very special occasion not anyone else’s🌻

I think the mom looks absolutely beautiful with her own design and dress with personality - her daughter looks stunning - together they look gorgeous! There is nothing wrong with her wearing that dress - the dress looks fit for a queen mom, that she is.
