Usually I’d jump to the defence of a celeb with experience, and to be fair, I don’t wish Layton any hate. However it’s only the truth to recognise he is literally a professional dancer. Even celebs like Alexandra Burke and Ashley roberts hadn’t been as extensively trained or performed as part of Matthew Bourse’s ballet company. I think he might be the most advanced celeb to ever compete.

I love when the celebs have dance training because they tend to produce good dances that are entertaining to watch, memorable and inspiring. Did Bill Bailey have dance experience? He ended up winning. Ultimately the nation’s favourite end up winning

I don't think it's what Shirley says that people have a problem with sometimes. For me it's the delivery. You can give constructive criticism without it coming across like you're anhiliating them

Well I do defend Layton a bit. I’ve watched dwts and scd for years. There have been countless dancers on the show. Whether broadway stars, pop idols, and hip hop dancers. From pussy cat dolls, cheetah girls, zendaya , and many others. They all have admitted that ballroom is hard. There’s no twerking or loose moves. Sure their lines may be there, flexibility, and know an 8 count. Ballroom is discipline. Precise. Body, head, feet, posture, and fluidity. So does he have some advantage? Yes. But not as much as people may think. I think he will struggle with the slower partner dances because they are more technical.

I find it unfair when judges say it wasn’t a cha cha/Fox trot etc cos that’s down to choreographer not celeb! I get when celeb doesn’t dance the fundamentals that’s different but saying it’s not a particular dance it’s surely on professionals not celebs🤷‍♀️

I feel bad for Zara and Nikita - they both have zero dance training/experience, i feel like they could improve and gain a lot if they have more weeks in the show. But theyre up against people with lots of training or actual pros like Layton .. we're not gonna see a journey so much with them .. is it just me or did previous series's have more newbies?

Oh and as for the comment about geo and Amanda? Spot on. No chemistry and you’re right it seems fake. Judges were not consistent throughout which was a shame

Did you mention Krishnan and Lauren as he’s enjoying himself but one of the weakest. I don’t mind some having some sort of a dancing background but not professional dancers. I can’t see the public voting for him to win. 🏆

Interesting James thought Laytons dance was a 10 - his scatter chases were not great and looks like he messed up when he was running away facing the camera but he seemed to cover it well if it was a mistake. Still a good 9 tho Really enjoyed this vid tho

Bring back the old days when the celebs had little or zero dance experience/training....really, the BBC has gone to mush, i feel it is run by humourless, rich, bores and not creatives anymore.

Really interesting about James talking about celebs now having too much dance experience coming into the competition. I might be wrong but I can’t remember another series where so many have. Nigel, layton, both Angela’s, Ellie, Amanda, Annabel, have all either danced professionally or had a lot of previous dance training.

The difference is Ellie DID have primarily foxtrot steps in it, Eddie had literally hardly any Cha Cha content at all, and he had bent legs throughout, and somehow got a 7 for what was basically just a routine of hip shaking.

I like Anton but he does not mark honestly if the judges give 6 he will give them 7 he always gives everybody more than the other judges he will give somene thats not good perhaps a 6 and then he will give someone who is very good a 7 seems unfair Anton wants everyone to love him he has to be honest l really like Anton but l do find myself getting annoyed with him craig said it was not a proper a foxtraught or whatever it was he said tjere was a bit of everything in that dance american smoothie etc or whatever the dance was he should not be in strictly its not fair to the others he is a proffessional! l love Amanda and Giovanni they were brilliant this is week two give them a chance she is nervous l dont like Angela she loves herself and is big headed, this lady with you is not a judge she she is picking on some of the dancers not in a nice way if she is on every week l will give you a miss James and l love you l dont like this lady she is not judging the dances she is judging who she does likes and does not like its week two the two proffesxionals is going to win its obvious as time goes on the public will pick up on two proffessionals dancing they will stop voting for them but the judges will keep them in so whats the point give them the winners trophy now l did not know he was a proffessional until last week😮

I have to disagree slightly Layton may have dance experience but it certainly not in Ballroom or latin. So he is learning two completely different dance disciplines.

Someone take this man off of this show, what a joke.

why are judeing people dineing when you dont do strictly any more

James jordon is an awful judge he would love to be on strictly as a judge it will never happen he has to big an ego and is not honest as a judge he could never take critisism when he was on strictly he was rude to the judges.

James being subtle but making it clear he definitely doesn’t rate Nancy or Giovanni 😂
