I like standing all day, but once I sit, I want to lean WAY back, can you do a video focused on how the chairs perform in a maximally reclined position, think like watching a movie in a movie theater. For low back problems, standing is least amount of pressure, then actually about 115 degrees, not 90 degrees (Google "lumbar disc pressure" and see that reclined is only 5% higher than standing whereas 90 degrees "ergonomic" is 40% more weight on lumbar disc pressure)

I wish the arms slid back further to allow elbow support when you are up close to a desk. The recline feature feels wasted without a good headrest, which they don't offer. The lumbar support is weak to nil.

Almost perfect. You can set up everything but the armrest height is pretty low when you sit in a good posture, your arms never touch them.

One thing to add is if your back is too large or wide for the fern and embody, the leap will fit you like a glove, no pushed shoulders, and no lower back pain.

I actually like this chair for lounging. I put the recline all the way back and stretch out in it. The flexible seat pan and back is great and sort of makes up for the lack of rocking. I'm 6ft 2 with long legs so the way this seat reclines with the seat sliding forward is great. I just need a footrest to complete it.

I have own/have owned or used most of these chairs now so I feel like I can give a fairly decent opinion on these chairs now. I just got rid of my Fern, still have a V1 Leap and have an Embody and I have to say I hate the Fern and like the V1 Leap over my Embody. The Embody is nice but it definitely needs a headrest so once I get one I will decide whether to keep it or not. The Leap is just comfortable all around and the live back is nice. The arm pads are nicer than the Embody's and the motion better too, the only better arms are the Gestures. My next chair will most likely be a Gunlocke Washington, I am coming to the realization that those are the kind of chairs I like the most.

I am from India and had severl back, neck and shoulder issues. I've tried various chairs from local brands and also International brands but I must admit that the Steelcase Leap V2 chair is THE best chair. What do you think about reports of user saying that leap v2 has a crooked back? Do you notice it on your chair as well? Apparently is a widespread problem, some users are disturbed by it, some not, but I never saw anyone say that it wasn't a thing.

Because the shell is so thin, it’s really tough for it to be perfectly straight. When you put any weight on it, it should even out. Chairs that have been used for many years by something that lean to the side may be a problem but I don’t think it’s an issue for most people. -Ryan

The Leap has design problems, so over time it may start to creak and the backrest mount may start to pop out of the slots on one side. I came across this on my old Leap V2 and sold it, and after that, I saw in the reviews on Amazon that a person faced the same problem with a new chair. So, unfortunately, the design is too complicated, not very well thought out and has problems. As long as it works properly, the chair is wonderful.

Currently testing a Leap V2 with upgraded back and seat cushions from Crandall. I also have an Aeron Remastered which I've used daily for the last three years. And the arm pads on the Leap are a *far cry* from the comfort of the Aeron's. I actually picked up a pair of foam arm pads on Amazon for the Leap, because for long hours at the desk where my elbows rest on the pads, it became unbearable quickly. I actually consider the stock pads to be the weakest feature on the Leap without doubt; in fact, without these third party pads I picked up, I would 100% return this chair. The rocking functionality of the Leap is subpar compared to the Aeron, but the Aeron is king of all in this department.

I have an aeron remastered, Haworth fern and leap v2, and for my back the leap is best. I like the other two as well, but the fern lacks seat depth and the aeron doesn't let you pull back your shoulders and elbows. Also personally i don't value reclining at all.

Don't buy this chair if you need firm lumbar support!!!! I have a budging disc at the L4/L5 region, as a result I cant sit on a chair with lumbar support that lets my lower back round at all. The lumbar support on this chair is very underwhelming. Even on the tightest or firmest setting if I relax my torso into the chair my lower back rounds slightly causing slight flexion in the disc. Literally the reason I purchased this stupidly expensive chair was for the all the reviews that highlighted the aggressive lumbar support. The live back technology steel case raves about is too dynamic and flexible allowing the lower back to bend or flex while on the firmest setting. If your just regular person with a healthy back this chair is fine but still not worth $1600 aus dollars.

@venom5809
@venom5809 10 месяцев назад
I rock back and forth in my Embody and other chairs all the time. I also constantly change the four way adjustable rocker on it that determines how far back I can go. Just because you don’t do something doesn’t mean a lot of other people don’t. So yeah it matters.
@titntin5178
@titntin5178 10 месяцев назад
That's a recognition that a rocking mechanism like those offered on the embody are extremely desirable and once experienced, hard to live without. I use a gaming embody and would never consider a chair without a similar mechanism. I also never use headrest, anywhere, so I'm happy for a design that doesn't have one.

@@hasanrentiya252 forgot to respond. But the chair feels great. The seat is soft and the back is responsive and the adjustment features are very helpful. Im not sure why but after two weeks on the chair my left leg started feeling really stiff and i had pretty mild-to very bad pain running from behind my legs all the way to back of my left upper thigh. And behind my knee got swollen. Got it checked xrays and blood scans and everything was clean no blood clots or anything doctors had no idea what was going on. Stating this now im not obese im 5'8 175 lbs and i do work from home and sit for long. I did try to actively move more per my doctors request even though by the time i bought the leap i was moving more than i already did before i bought the leap. After minimal results from moving more whenever i could i switched chairs with my gf (ticova chair) and that same day i saw a reduction of pain about 30% and after about 3 days my left leg felt 0 pain and the swelling was gone when before i was feeling pain for a whole week sitting in thr leap. I did take a ibuprofen twice but im positive it was the chair. I am using the leap again and so far do good. And lastly i do sit like a normal person. So at worst the chair was potentially causing blood clot like symptoms and at best it gave my left leg mild cramps. I love the chair all and all tho so im hoping i feel no pain again.
