Always had windows machines, but changed to Mac 2 years ago with a used iMac, and MacBook Pro 15" i7, now I have the 16" MacBook Pro 16GB ram & 512GB storage, and I'm loving it.
Same mate. Actually, I was a big hater of Apple before because I couldn't afford any of their stuff. Now that I switched over, I can't imagine going back.
Also saw a lot of deals for 512GB with similar prices for my deal. But luckily at the last minute before buying one, I randomly found a guy who was just watching movies and he wanted to sell his. But still the laptop even with 512GB is a great bang for the buck!
Hi I study at school and I don’t know which is best, 512/32 ? Or 1TB/16 ? I’m getting the 16 inch m1 pro so which one should you suggest? I download files and browse a lot and have many many tabs open. Your vid is absolutely amazing and underrated btw ❤🔥🔥
Few weeks ago I picked up a certified refurbished from Microcenter base model 16 M1 Pro 1349.99. You can tell it came from the Apple Refurbished store it was like opening a new Mac. I will only buy certified refurbished from now on. I also added Apple Care.
Did the exact same thing. I was shocked to find out that Micro center has them straight from Apple refurbished. Mine has been flawless. Running DaVinci, Lightroom, Photoshop, OBS, VS Code and not once have I heard the fan come on even when rendering.
Thank you for the video Mario. Keep watching video about this model to make sure but I keep debating with myself between the 16 and 32 GB RAM. I'm a video editor and work a lot with 3D and the rendering is super heavy. Would you say that the 32GB would make a big difference? And in the long run do you think it will be worth investing the extra money on the 32GB? P.S. The video and editing looks awesome! Thanks :)
Thank you so much! I especially appreciated it from someone else who also in this type of work. I feel like you should definitely go for the 32GB of ram, especially if you’re working with 3-D rendering.
Heeeey, you and I have the same first name, soooo.....I'm subbing!!!😁😁😁😁😁😁 No, but seriously, I have been looking at this model for a while now and I think I'll get it for 4K video editing and photo editing in Lightroom/Photoshop. Thanks for this great review.
Damn I would have sent that back and asked for a different one. From my understanding refurb MacBooks are suppose to have new batteries in them (or extremely low charge cycles) from the refurbishing process. 180 cycles is years of charging for these units, which means the unit itself its years old. Even at the refurb price that's way too much.
Hey Bro! Nice video! I recently just a used refurbished 16 inch M1 1TB and I absolutely love it so far! Keep grinding! I see you are on your way to 1K subs 🫡
Is it better to upgrade ram than ssd for longevity of your device? I could get M1 Pro 16 and thinking if I should upgrade ram to 32gb or upgrade ssd to 1tb. Any suggestion regarding for the lifespan of a machine to last as long as possible
It depends on what you will be using the device for on the daily. If it's heavy video editing or 3D stuff. Then go for the ram. Otherwise the storage is definitely a nice to have.
6:31 I love the trackpad on the macbook pro but! a separate trackpad is a different story, believe it or not, eve the gestures are the same etc. is a different thing and I hate it! try it and you'll see that are different things, I prefer the mouse instead the external trackpad, I don't believe it until I try it.
@@MarioDuch yes, try it to use it sit on a chair and with the keyboard on the left and you'll see you move it more slowly and your hand feels a little unconfortable. I move sooooo fast with the trackpad on the MBP but not external.
Hey, thanks for this. I have a question. I am planning to buy my first MacBook. And my options are 13’ MacBook Air M2 16gb/512gb, 16’ MacBook Pro 2021 16gb/512gb and 14’ MacBook Pro m2 16gb/512gb. My major purpose is writing and some video editing (I am planning to create reels) while also considering future proofing. I was told of a deal today. I could buy a new 16’ MacBook Pro 2021 (the one I mentioned above) for almost the same price as 13’ mac air M2 (the one I mentioned above). The new m2 MacBook will stretch my budget. What would you recommend i do?
Definitely get the Pro. The screens are much better. Also, if you are planning to primarily do writing, I would suggest the 14' you mentioned. Since, you can think of the 16 as a desktop replacement. But it still is really easy to carry around. Nonetheless, I would avoid the Air and head straight for one of the pros.
@@MarioDuch hey, thanks for the reply. I am just seeking validation at this point (*nervous laughs*). BUT, the new M2 14' MBP would cost around $250 more considering I am already stretching my budget. So, I think I should go with 16' MBP 2021. Hoping it really is not an issue to carry around!
There is no reason to go for the M2 Pro. Seriously. Don’t worry it’s super manageable. I carry it around even when I’m shooting sports. Also many RU-vidrs say it’s quite heavy, but It’s the lightest laptop I ever had :D it’s definitely worth it. Also, if you wanna future proof, try getting the 16’ with 1TB.
@@MarioDuch hahaha, coming from a windows laptop bg, I think I will be just fine. Thanks for your time mate. I appreciate it. Keep doing what you do, you help peeps like me :)
I would personally stay away from the 13inch pro, just save up a bit more and get the 14inch pro at a discount. It's a much better computer. But if you don't plan on doing anything demanding and don't see a difference with promotion, then safe some money and go for the M1 air. The 13 inch is an awkward middle child, that no one should get.
I'm thinking to buy M1 Macbook pro but after M3 officially gets announced... do you think likely how much further price drop will be by then? Because it will be 2 gens older. M1 16 inch 16GB RAM 1TB SSD, more than enough for my music production needs..more than that will be overkill... I'm not going to use it for anything else really and I record and mix acoustic type of music I dont use heavy DAW plugins nor many layered virtual instruments at all.. Do you know the pattern of price drops for MBP, if the older models usually get cheaper immidiately upon announcement of a new one or usually not the case and need to wait until the actual release?
Yea for sure, I think it could drop to around 1300 which would be an incredible deal if you could get one. Also don’t worry about the M1 being two generation old, it’s still an absolute powerhouse.
Bro, is not Micro LED it's 'Mini LED', Micro LED is way fookin more expensive than the laptop itself also it's manufactured by Samsung for huge cinema like screens only and is limited and not for laptops or mobiles. It will be revolutionary if it comes cheaper for my TV 😢
Im just a bit conserned that itll get slightly shorter software support or am i wrong? Im currently deciding if i wanna get a 16" m1 pro for 2050€ (for reference a m2 pro here is about 2500-2600) its mostly for the big nice screen and stuff as im only doing law stuff, both are waaay enough. Anyone an tipp if its the price difference is worth it? :D
Telling people if they are gaming on a mac they need to reevaluate their life…didn’t apple release an API begging developers to use it for converting games 😂
Hey Mario, thanks for the great video and thoughts! I'm currently weighing two options to replace my 9-year old Intel-powered MacBook Air, mainly the base 15-inch M2 MacBook Air and the base 14-inch M1 Pro MacBook Pro. I'd say my usage is on the medium side, mainly online document editing, light video creation on iMovie, light gaming (Minecraft) and general personal tasks. In terms of prices, the M2 MBA is around 1,361 USD and the M1 Pro MBP is around 1,621 USD. Since I'm looking to use my next machine for another 9-10 years, which option would you recommend? Thank you in advance for your input! :)
