Well they did have a long history of raiding their planets and then there was that one time they blockaded multiple points on the Hydian way sending the republic into an economic depression.
The Mandalorians of the Old Republic were a warrior people that truly sought challenges that would have pushed them to become greater warriors, and it is a pitiful state that Death Watch believes they are the true successor of the Old Mandalorians ways.
It baffles me that the culture an life style of being a Mandalorian went from a idea to being considered a Human only species. Like any species could become a Mandalorian, just had to prove themselves and follow their customs. Hell i remember reading somewhere that there was a Hutt Mandalorian but instead of a fat slug was super buff. What Mandalorians are now is just sad, still cool but a fall from grace for sure.
@@theliato3809 it seems by time of the clone wars humans have taken the name an culture if Mandalore, and given how bo and other Mandalorians reaction to Maul winning the duel honourable, its safe to say that being a "Mandalorian" is a human thing now.
@@blacktemplarbrotherlucius1935 Remember that such duels are a way of settling issues. If you happen to have an issue with who won such a duel, you are free to challenge them yourself. This does in-fact scale up - there have been civil-wars because a clan or two refused to recognise a claim to the title of Mand'alor, or because only a few clans backed such a claim.
“Win or lose, as long as the fight is worthy, then honor is gained. The glory at having triumphed over impossible odds is what drives us. If there's nothing at stake - your possessions, your life, your world, then the battle's meaningless. We Mandalore take everything we are and throw it into battle. It's the true test of yourself, the battle against death, against oblivion.” - Te Taylir Mand’alor (Canderous Ordo) Always will be the best version of the Mando’ade in my opinion, a big part of it is due to my own cultural/religious beliefs and the similarities to these ideals.
How about a complete history of the Mandalorian Civil War and why the Mandalorians divided into factions like the True Mandalorians, the Death Watch, and the New Mandalorians.
Mandalorians were always some of the best parts in the Star Wars lore. They're honorable, fearless, savage, brutal, yet noble as well, they're creative, resourceful, downright badass no matter what, and so, so, so much more. Forget Jedi or Sith, if I was in Star Wars, I'd be Mandalorian.
@@Angelo-nd4lg Slavery is legal in the Republic, at least on Tattooine. The entire galaxy is colonized by various species, many of whom didn't start on said planets. Genocide is pretty much always unacceptable though.
Mandalore the indomitable wasn’t the only Mandalore to side with the Empire. There was Mandalore the Lesser, a mandalorian gladiator who became a puppet for the Sith Empire and allied the Empire and the Mandalorians during the Great galactic war through the beginning of the Cold War. Then there was Mandalore the Vindicated, who killed Mandalore the Lesser to take the title of Mandalore. He remained allies with the Sith, though they were cautious allies since he knew them Imperials would stab the Mandalorians in the back if the opportunity presented itself. He led the Mandalorians from the Cold War, the Galactic War, and the invasion of Zakuul, where he was killed by skytroopers
"If Mandalore the Indomitable had wanted to defeat Ulic Qel-Droma-he should have been more indomitable!" - Rohlan Dyre Edit: Not even Kolto could hear that burn.
Mandalore the Lesser could count, since he was an Imperial puppet. Mandalore the Vindicated was a cautious ally the Sith, because he wasn’t stupid enough to think that the Empire wouldn’t betray them
I always prefer the modern mandalorian design over the older ones, but I guess to get that to point, give credit where it’s due starting with the neo crusaders
Nice vid, Geetsly's team. You've done Mandalorian history justice. The Taung were so close to being good, and then that dammed vision shifted so many into darkness for generations. Quite a detour, but they'll get it right eventually.... even if I have to write it myself... oh no, what have I agreed to?
If that is the case, then why Shae Vizla and the Mandalorians during the time of the Great Galactic War allied themselves with the Sith Empire? I know that one of the Jedi killing her brother during the war but shouldn't it be just the House Vizla that ally themselves with the Sith then? And not as the entirety of the Mandalorians.
Times change and allegiances shift. How many worlds that were formerly of the Republic eventually decided to just go along with the Sith and how many that were part of the Sith empires moved in under the Republics banner.
Shae Vizla allied with Darth Malgus to take down the Jedi in the events in the preliminary video of SWTOR. Later on, whether she allies with the Jedi or the Sith depends on Player choice (whether the Outlander allies with Republic or Sith Empire in the expansions).
It might have something to do with the fact that Sith can’t get it up unless they are betraying an ally every five minutes. Kinda hard to ally with someone with a genetic history of chronic backstabbing disorder.
Jaster Mereel and the True Mandalorians. They deserve to get a lot of attention. Plus I think folks like myself are tired of always hearing about Death Watch. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
To be honest a lot of factions have been Sith's bitches, they are the Apex predator faction in Star wars for a long time Until they consume themselves.
What about the Mandalorians siding with the Sith Empire for the Old Republic era. In SWTOR we see the majority of Mandalorians working for the Empire with any who protested or disagreed were claimed as traitors and hunted down
🤔 . . . Honestly, I think that MMORPG, _Old Republic, The_ , technically debunks your claim that the Mandalorians never served the Sith ever again. But 🤷♂️…
I have to admit if I wasnt a jedi, Id rather be an honorable Mandalorian, cause fighting with honor to me is better than fighting to create the biggest body pile
One thing about star wars that always loses me is when someone says "3 thousand years later-----". Like, god damn dude. The writers of this stuff really needed a better grasp of exactly how much time that is, because they talk about it like its nothing.
There is honor or just winning because you are not held back by outed concepts. There is no “Honor” in modern war nor in Star Wars because a lot of people who don’t fight with honor end up being victors. A real world example are guns, Japan outlawed the import of guns after a certain point and they were not used heavily until the start of the industrialization of Japan. Samurai were against the abolition of the warrior class along with their refusal to modernize, in the civil war between samurai and the emperor. The imperial Japanese Amy used heavy amounts of cannons and guns while the samurai did not. They thought there was no honor in using guns, so they lost.
Honour is a difficult thing to retain in a shifting and changing world, especially when honour is confused with the trappings of one culture or another. Of course, half the trouble is knowing what honour is.
The Sith care only about accumulating power for themselves and wielding it to dominate others, the Mandalorians care most about clan, honor, and prowess on the battlefield.
i miss the days mandalorians were competent violent warriors that worshipped war. I have always wanted more star wars content that takes place during the mandalorian wars.
The Neo Crusades Mandalorians there the best modern day version lost there way if these would ever appear in the Clone wars Era this would easly turned into a 3 way war
@Jensen Rogers Indeed? The future is always in motion. It is a difficult thing to see. Perhaps there will be no new age, no great Mandalorian crusade. Perhaps your people fought their last battle at Malachor V, and you have been dying ever since, a quiet death that will last centuries.
Gotta have a love/hate relationship with the idea and concept of entropy in works like Stat Wars. Still, better this than the power level bullkriff plaguing the likes of Dragon Ball and especially One Piece now and then. Addendum: If there's one era that needs explaining, there's the pacifistic origins of the Taung species on Notron (now bloody Coruscant) and their scarring manipulation, betrayal, and exile by us dread humans, as speculated in the Supernatural Encounters novella.
@@shaydowsith348 I like TLJ, hated tros more than any big budget film, more than I thought was possible for a star wars. Hopefully they've learned a lesson?
Thanls for this video. Clears up stuff people have wrong in some Second LIFE rp group. Thos epeople are all idiotsd with boring stories and little inner circle of losers which is why people keep leaving it. Plus misinformation.
@@dhaburuk6494 Writing your own thoughts is incredibly easy. Copying the assumptions of an existing philosopher or religious tradition is even easier. This is not a case of desire. This is simply laziness. Even if they copied an existing tradition, it would be far better than patching a pile of tropes and caricatures together to create a fictional “religion”.
Dude you need to tweak your audio. Lower your levels a little or get a wind/pop guard! Some of your pronounciations go straight through me and its a shame cos your videos look good.
Give darth malgus the honor of mandalore the messiah and you'd have had an unstoppable general leading an unstoppable army mandalore would've taken over the sith empire and galactic republic of the old republic
There were some Mandalorians that sided with Malgus during his attempt to create the New empire. One of them was Jindo Krey, who was one the first to side with Malgus

@@Angelo-nd4lg Badass, yes. Unstoppable, no. Perhaps we shall see if Malgus still has it in him to rally like-minded people to his cause, since swtor brought him back from death. He can't do it alone but he isnt too old to build a new faction. Malgus is wiser after his first attempt failed & he had a few years to think. No one is unstoppable, however.
Why always use the same image for the taung, it's a mistake it's not their faces it's an helmet re read the comics it's obvious, if their faces was like this they never fit in their helmet. And for the grey skin it's more the color of their armor in the comics they just paint mandalorian all grey because it's easier that way. And the yellow eyes is in fact the glass of the helmet all shape of helmet have this yellow reflection in the comics.
