On January 12, 2013 The Ravens and the Broncos played one of the greatest playoff games of all time The NFL owns all the rights to the video clips shown in this video.
My 11 year old son jumped in my arms...and hugged me so tight and screamed with such unbridled joy...it brings tears to my eyes today...a little gravy...I had season tix with the ravens and was randomly selected to buy Superbowl tix...sold the pair for 6k and took the family of four to Aruba for spring break...
I'm french and Ravens' fan since 2006. The 2012-2013 season was the first one I was able to watch every single Ravens' game. The Mile High Miracle was so unbelievable I literally cried! Flacco, Lewis, Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones, Ray Rice, Justin Tucker... So many great players in this team.
I was in a bar up north of Baltimore when the Mile-High Miracle happened and at that point a number of us were getting our checks because we thought this game was over. I was watching as Joe dropped back and thought "This is the part where if Flacco is going to pull out a miracle, it's going to be right here." Then that ball sailed into Jacoby's hands and the entire place became a wall of screaming joy as that score went up. I don't think it died down for at least a minute. When Tucker went for that field goal, I don't think any of us were breathing, remembering the year before when Cundiff blew it. Once it sailed through the uprights, again, cheers as we had pulled it off and were back in the AFC Championship game.
Same here I was at the Hooters in Towson and I thought it was over about to close out my tab then the whole restaurant went insane on that touchdown pass to Jacoby
When Jacoby caught that 70 yard pass, I could not stop jumping and screaming. It almost seems like I was hovering for a minute while watching that play.
As a Ravens fan, I knew New England wasn't going to be a problem after the Mile High Miracle. If we could beat Denver, we could beat anyone. I knew we were going all the way after this one!
I was having a debate with a friend from work who said Peyton would take it all the way well I told him that day this was the real Superbowl and whoever wins will take it all
Oh that was heartbreaking. I watched that game with my dad and after that kick he just got up and went to bed. No words just got up and left. He was so disappointed
I’m not a crier but I cried both games. The one AFC championship of disappointment and sadness and the next year out of elation and happiness. As a Ravens fan since 1996 this is still my favorite game.
This was incredible 🤦🏾♂️ my neighborhood damn near had a block party that night .. people came outside to cheer with everyone else..It was hi 5’s daps & hugs beers spilling everywhere ..my street suddenly became Da Bank as we all celebrated OOO OOO OOO OOO OOOOOOOOO 🙌🏾🤟🏾 good times mane … #RAVENSNATION
AgmMarquez17 yeah we would all remember a regular season game versus a playoff game and a SuperBowl win. Please. You can have that game anytime. Well take the ring.
I was in fifth grade when this game was played. It was my second year where I was reeeeeeaaaaaaally into football (you can imagine my, and every other Ravens fans disappointment when we lost to the Pats) With that said, I have never been more excited and intense over a game. I was just talking about this game with my dad, and I remember him saying, "Oh my God. I remember I had to check my blood pressure, to see if I had any left."
I was at a bar in Ft Myers with my brother visiting our not-quite-elderly parents. I had a Reed jersey on, bro had classic Heap. The table next to us right in front of the projection screen were about our age all in Broncos jerseys. They would not shut up. We were civil. Mom and Dad of course stayed out of the shit talking. UNTIL THIS MOMENT where we just laughed and laughed at them. After the OT interception they quietly departed, sick of getting punked.
I agree ..This was the greatest game ever! Joe Flacco is one of the most underated QB when it comes to "Big Games". Check out his playoff game against the Titains when he was a rookie.
This game broke my heart. The Broncos really were incredible that year. Anyway, I agree that this is probably one of the greatest playoff games ever. How can it not be when both teams score multiple 50+ yard Touchdowns?
Chills still. I even tensed up watching the tucker kick i knew was good. Denver was talking so much shit that week on the radio. It was awesome hearing them the next day sound humiliated
I watched this as a young kid, I did understand football pretty well, but I didn't truly understand the magnitude of what kind of game it really was until after.
@@theonsidepunt6605 I was a senior in high school at the time of this game and pretty much nobody in my school or in Baltimore thought we were gonna win. I thought we would keep it close, i didn't think we had a shot until we went up 14-7. My literal thought was like, "We could do this, we could actually do this"
Remember the map they showed on NFL network showing who in America thought the Ravens would win ? The whole map was Red except the northern half of 🖤 Maryland 💜 ! PRICELESS ! 😈
The very next day was my birthday and I was still in high school. NOBODY thought the ravens would win against manning. All week long they gave me shit. Then this miracle happened. Best birthday gift ever. Then the next week, same story. No way they’re beating Brady in foxborough. Fucking shut them up! And of course we win it all that year. Fuck I miss those days! But now it is a new era in Baltimore and for Joe Flacco. I’m just glad I witnessed that season, sending Ray Lewis off the right way! GO RAVENS! #Ravensflock
I was in Walmart during the Mile High miracle TD pass. I was in the restroom when all of a sudden the whole store started cheering & hollering. A full bladder caused me to miss the greatest play ever in Ravens history. But I didn't miss the rest of the game.
As a Ravens fan I just couldn't believe we could beat them this game .I turned on the game closed my eyes until the start of the 4th quarter.and then life got really great 👍
Not even a Ravens fan but I remember watching that game yelling and screaming with my dad like we were fans after that Jacoby Jones play. I was ecstatic when the Ravens won at the end and I rooted for them the whole rest of that playoff run
Its amazing how Ray Lewis was such a great leader. He actually yelled at Jacoby to do his thing and to have no fear right before the play. He also boosted the offenses confidence by ensuring the kickers automatic field goal coming up. ALl of it is recorded on the side line NFL micd up.
I still remember being 11, coming home from grocery shopping with my mom, turning on this game at the most perfect time ever, the 3rd and 3 mile high miracle. As a kid for some reason i wasnt shocked that it happened, i was just so confident in this team to win it all, to this day its my favorite moment as a ravens fan
idk, i think him barely making that field goal early on in the season to beat the patriots was. it was our first time playing them after cundiff missed the field goal the season before in the afc championships. later in the season i saw an autographed picture of him kicking that field goal at a silent auction, starting bid was $40 and no one had bid. i was the only one, bought it completely uncontested. now he’s the best kicker in nfl history, and i have it hanging up right next to my signed stover jersey. ravens have always had amazing kickers.
I actually remember that according to the Washington post the Denver Broncos had a 99% of winning this game (At least that’s what my dad told me that day) so it was just awesome for Ray to finish on top and prove people wrong
This was the first game I actually seen my mom screaming at the tv and frikkin basically crying when Tuck hit that fg. Incredible season ending that year. It was some movie script drama. From Lee Evans not securing the td, then Cundiff missing a chip shot the year prior, Ray retiring. Yea it was unreal how they won that year. The Harbaugh Super Bowl (blackout). All of it.
My mom and i are ravens fans. We are in nh. Ill nva forget calling my mom when she was coming home from work giving her the highlights. She got home when he caught the pass, man we got loaded that night
From that game a star was born, and his name is Justin Tucker, who'll become when his career ends the first kicker in NFL history to gain the hall of Fame on the first ballot with 2 60 yard plus field goals and the NFL record field goal of 66 yards plus record field percentage in NFL history, wow! 😯
4:32 "rookie kicker justin tucker" just hit a 66 yarder :D edit: this is probably the beginning moment of the legendary greatest nfl kicker of all time
The box score is why this game was the best. No other game in NFL history ended with the score tied at the end of each of the first 5 quarters. Furthermore, no one unit dominated in this game. Both offenses, defenses, and special teams had big plays, but also gave up big plays. Each drive was tense, especially in the second half, and filled with 3rd down conversions, stops, turnovers, near misses, or controversial plays. And the underdog won, but not because the favorite played poorly. They won because they were vastly underestimated by media outlets prior to the game.
If someone told me at the start of the 2012 season to me, a Ravens fan that we are gonna beat the steelers in Pittsburgh, beat the Patriots not once but twice, the second time in the Championship game in Foxboro, allowing them 0 points in the second half, then go on winning the Super Bowl - and none of these games would be my favourite one in the season, I would have found it neigh on impőossible to concieve the idea... and yet, this game, clearly was my favourite that season. There was virtually nothing that would have given us much - almost any - hope going in this game. There was simply no way the Ravens could win this... and yet.
My man put 2013 A.D. haha... I've lived in Baltimore my whole life and have obviously been a Ravens fan from the start. Our team wasn't that great in 2012 but we were gritty. We should have won the AFC championship the year before but a controversial drop by Lee Evans in the endzone and a missed field goal by Billy Cundiff cost us the game. I believe we would have won 2 superbowls in a row if we won that game... So we we're still salty and upset about the year before and our team had a chip on their shoulder and was willing to win by any means necessary. Nobody I knew thought we were going to win the Superbowl that year. I mean I knew we had a chance but Denver was really good and the Patriots we're hot that year as usual. I feel the same way about the Ravens this year. If we beat the Bills and possibly the Chiefs I don't see anybody in the NFC beating us. Anyway I was at a bar about a 10 minute drive from the stadium and I remember only knowing about 4 people in the whole place. We thought we were about to lose when the miracle happened. I still get chills thinking about it. I ran over and picked up some guy I didn't know almost putting him on my shoulders carrying him across the bar just losing my shit. It felt like I was jumping off the ground with him in my arms. I don't think I've been that happy since haha. It was amazing and something I'll remember forever. What a great run that was... Wouldn't be surprised if we make another run this year...
Just being a stickler here, but before the “throw” they didn’t exchange punts, flacco actually marched the ravens inside the 30 and had 3 passes dropped that would’ve converted, one from boldin, jacoby, and pitta. Broncos took over on downs.
Has he??? Flacco always played like he does during the season as matter of fact he had a good 2014 season... Plus flacco isnt the reason why we didn't win the two division championships seeing that the defense failed him twice
I believe what truly set Joe back was Kubiak leaving for Denver after 2014. He and Joe got along really well, and he was one of the only OC's who really knew how to use his strengths. Scince he left, the Ravens barely had anything remotely resembling an offense for the rest of Joe's tenure here. Struggling as he was, he put the team in position to win numerous games, only to see that vaunted defense blow it in the final minute.
I hate the narrative that Rahim Moore was the culprit on the Jones catch. IMO, he was playing it smart. If he it timed it any earlier, he would've picked it (and YES, I realize the Ravens had no time outs, but crazier things can happen), the Broncos would've been in position for either a potential fumble and run back, or a turnover followed by a Tucker FG and an on-sides kick. I realize neither was likely, but Moore was clearly just trying to time it right, force us to 4th down and make Flacco pull a rabbit out of his hat. I'm a Ravens fan, but all respect to Moore....he was just using his instincts to try and give his team the best shot at winning, it just didn't work that time.
If it wasn't for Trindon Holiday, Joe Flacco would have blown Manning and the Broncos out! About 8 key WR/TE drops, coaching ineptitude, and Ravens defensive letdowns ruined a HOF deserving career for Flacco.
I was so pissed when John fox decided to kneel before the end of regulation. Have some faith in your team it’s the playoffs!! And to not ice the kicker in OT. WHAT THE FUCK!!!
I can't believe Fox chose to kneel. Prater at Mile High! 2 timeout! Ravens had zero timeouts so Manning could've taken 2 shots and kneel on 3rd down if first 2 plays didn't work. One of the great offenses ever but kneel there?
Not sure I agree. It’s not one of the greatest games if a player makes a big mistake that influences the outcome of the game. I like a game where both teams are playing at a very high level and one team comes out on top because they are the last team that has the ball at the end.
The "Mile High Massacre" was better. Denver, Mile High USA, October 24, 2010. 1:15 pm Pacific time. The Silver and Black attacked and slaughtered the Donkey herd. It was 24-0 in first 15 minutes. Blood everywhere until it finally ended Raiders dominated every second, every play, to win 59-14. RIP to the Donkey.
Bran Stark Don’t think so. He wasn’t destined to win that year. It was the Ravens year. He threw a pic(2nd or the game) in 2OT and the Ravens won. Flacco stats were better than him this game. Not to mention if it wasn’t for Holiday and the two special teams TD’s Denver wouldnt have been in game. He was destined to win 2 years from then and he did, and went out on top, the same as Lewis did this year.
Exactly why I bet $100 on the money line and won $350 on this game. I didn't make the bet until a few minutes before game time, once I checked the weather. I had been planning on making the bet all week, if it was cold enough.
