I miss playing soo much. Bard, warriors, monk, druid and shaman. Epics back in the day really felt epic. So much lore and teamwork. I tried on the TLP for awhile but the faction quests just made me lose interest.
@Ion Blaze lol it started by me telling my bard they were doing an awesome job pulling and they were the best bard I've met and they said "no that title belongs to ion" it went on from there hahaha
Huge fan of all things lore, especially in the world of Norrath. I’ve only ever played eq2, but have listened to/read much of the rich lore from eq. The mention of the reversal of time and creating a split has escaped me thus far and learning of it makes so much sense. Gonna have to play through isle of Mara and catch what I missed on my youthful speed run through content. Great video! More please!
If anyone is interested in a physical copy of EQ lore, there are table top role playing game books. Theyre amazing and include the back stories of the gods, the rulers of each city, two enormous Luclin and Kunark expansions. They're worth it if you want to save some awesome nostalgia!
Oooooo. I love Tanaan Lore - one of my fav parts of Fallen Dynasty in EQ2. I believe EQ2 marketing also used this as a way to market EoF, which was the addition of dieties in game. You can follow a diety and gain powers from them (Blessings and Miracles), and also the addition of Avatars, representations of the gods sent back to Norrath. There's a bit of a debate on whether or not Zhen Mei is actually Zeb, or just his Avatar. I like to think it's just him. :)
@@IonBlaze1 I was reading through random quests like 20 years ago and saw you could chat with Cazic Thule as part of a quest, that really intrigued me! So I rolled the lizard monk just to do the quest!
Dude, I am nooblet ogre War and this is the most fun I have ever had in an MMO. I am meeting really cool people and next thing you know it, you need sleep lol talking about lore from forcing a cheeseburger tax for new groupies lmao.
The Plane Of Knowledge really was such an interesting thing in the history of MMO's in general. The history of EQ is so much more important than people realize, because it's the thing that took the chances that lead to the things we see as obvious today. Great video!
Also on Luclin you can see a moon farther away than Norrath. This means either EQ2 Dev retcon.. or something else. But the vail ( some choose veil) of veeshan was mentioned clearly in EQ2 lorebooks, but somehow... it was some other vail that supposeably hidden Luclin in EQ 1. While the second moon ( im refusing to name because i got enough hate) was actually the hidden one... and possibly ( despite expansion evidence suggesting otherwise) it was D.... the other moon... Purhaps their are 3 gods of death.. the magic, the mundane, and the between... You mortals are now less decieved! Do with it what you will...
EQ has Lore ?!?! i thought it was about hitting a skeleton for 8 billion damage while farming krono for the P2W cashshop and macroquesting a 10 box army while you AFK dupe items and plat huh
1) It would definitely be pronounced "Zonn Fee" 2) We have not seen the Plane of Knowledge, the city of New Tanaan lies within it, but we only can visit the city, not the actual plane itself. 3) It's pronounced "Loose-lin" just like the "Loosid" shards that drop for the VT key. They're not called Luck-id shards, because there is no K, just like there is no K in Luclin. Loose-lin. Simple, right? Also, not one single Latin root word _(Lucere;_ luminous, brilliant, bright) uses a hard K sound. If you want to continue to be wrong, like most people on this issue, that's fine. You're still wrong though. And while we're at it, GIF is pronounced like Gift without the T and there's literally no argument against that.
Personally I like the Idea of gods in fantasy especially EQ and they should never be killed. That's a lazy atheist writer's trope. Kill the gods! At one point with my Paladin I was part of killing my own patron saint the avatar of Mithanial Marr for some crap reward. I hated it.
Yeah I can see your point. I remember defeating Mith Marr for PoP progression back in the day & I could see that being wrong to do as a pally or froglok. I understand taking down their avatars however.
yoooo broski i clicked on dis vid cuz of pok and eq1 i found your vids right before you went to eq2 and im all disappointed i need you to stop and return to the original
