@@hassathunter2464 true Rose was cringing so damn hard especially that last part when she saved Finns life and said that cringe stuff and kissed Finn I wanted to leave that theater I was cringing so hard I wanted to throw up
the only thing that would've been a good end is if rey sacrificed herself to kill palpatine and died, then only Kylo was left to train new jedi. Having been on the darkside and good, he would bring new balance to the force forever
Exactly, he's become both jedi and sith so he has basically acheived balance with the force, if anakin didnt die on rotj to train new jedi that's basically what ben solo would be a great mentor since he's become both like anakin, but since the mouse didnt wanted that...you know the rest of the rant
The main problem with this movie is that it takes away the point of the original trilogy making Anakin Skywalker not the chosen one and making his death pointless.
Honestly in my opinion, if Rey accidentally killed Chewbacca with the force lightning her character would 50% be redeemed if they have some sort of character development after that.
@86sith It actually breaks cannon in several ways, you actually have to be HIT by force lightning to use it. Now I don't care if Palpatine is in her lineage, her parents clearly wasn't powerful in the force, neither should she.
They should’ve just had Rey be a sith and Kylo be a Jedi. The name “rise of Skywalker” would make more sense since kylo is literally the last descendant of the skywalkers. Then Rey is a descendant of palpatine which would make sense as well. That’s just me tho ig
EXACTLY. And bruh had he not been brain dead and just whipped out his lightsaber and just stab her when she was blocking the lighting. Freaking god man!
In my opinion, Kylo was the best character in the whole new trilogy because the rest of characters are just kind of plain and boring. Edit: I also hate rose
Imagine if after the credits roll Anakin wakes up sweating then he turns to see Padme who is peacefully sleeping alongside him on their apartment in Coruscant
I remember when Disney advertised the sequels as a new story branching off from the old ones then started calling it the "skywalker saga" after the last jedi
You know, if this was written when the original trilogy was written then first of all, J.J. would’ve flipped, and also, Rey would’ve been a more in-depth character, and her foreshadowing would’ve shown someone finding Luke’s hand AFTER his fight in cloud city.
I actually thought Kylo was cool in this movie. He even sort of beat Rey during their fight on the Death Star . Also when he got his life energy taken from Sidious, he was able to get up from it. Meanwhile Rey needed a pep talk with all the force ghost just to get up.
XVII gary well it would have been interesting to see Ben Atone for the pain and suffering he wrought throughout the galaxy, just for the sake of a conclusion it was the smart move to kill him off, much in the way of his Vader was redeemed, sacrificing himself. Plus we have a rumored Kylo Ren Prequel series so perhaps that will give all the new Fans something to look forward too, Even if he’s already Dead in current canon.
Will Justice yeah he Legit made me feel Bad, and he’s one of the only sequel characters in The Sequel trilogy to have consistent character development. I already loved his character, but this Movie made him even more badass, and his redemption was well handled, and the Expressions he gives when Leia died was heartbreaking, and made me feel genuinely bad for him, and the fact he was never going to see her again. Such a great character, and it was Tragic to see him sacrifice himself, but at least he made a Selfless choice and was able to be one with the force. Imagine if the movie had more time, we could’ve seen Ben interacting with Anakins spirit when he was clutching Rey in his arms, a scene like that would’ve made the Movie much better then I already thought it was 😄
When the title of this movie was revealed, I got really excited coz I thought they will finally connect Anakin Skywalker with ST. Then I saw a comment saying "...it would only be something like Rey defeating everyone and claiming she will now be a Skywalker coz Luke and Leia were like her parents...". I remember thinking how stupid that comment was and that there is no way the filmmakers will do something so stupid and childish...yeah. I was wrong. Also, not only did they not give Anakin Skywalker any mildly significant role, they even stole his legacy and gave it to Rey.
I always thought Rey was Leia's daughter, that there had been twins born. So one reason that Han and Leia separated was that something happened to the girl twin, and they couldn't overcome the sadness (eg maybe it was Han's recklessness that caused something to happen). That would also explain why she had a connection with Kylo. That would also explain why the Force was so strong with her. But I guess I didn't get to be one of the writers throwing out ideas, so other ideas were picked up.
@@KvngLeroy1 the only good prequel movie i remember is ep 3.the rest is meh.sequel in the other hand is actually able to become good except they choose not to
@@anthonyrodriguez8590 I agree with you 100% there. That would have been pretty cool. She could have gotten a new hand like Luke and ended up fine but it would have been cool to see her lose a hand like Luke and Anikan did.
In my eyes, the sequels aren’t canon. I’ll acknowledge their existence, but i don’t have to accept them. Nah. If people like them, good, but i don’t. I refuse to accept fanfiction as canon
@@duhreel1 the whole point of the movie is that anyone can take up the mantle of skywalker you don't need to be born a skywalker literally in the end of the movie when the woman is like what is your name and then she's like rey skywalker you can literally see luke and Leia smile at her because they accepted her as one
@@ryghav what the fuck are you talking about numbnuts the whole point of Kylo ren was to literally redeem himself it was his fucking redemption arc for fucks sake are you too blind to see that just like darth Vader before him he went up against the ultimate enemy emperor palpatine and suffered from it like they both committed mass fucking genocides you could at least pay with your lives
*"But hey, they were better than the prequels, rIGhT?"* That line alone is enough to give me a heavy headache (Edit: man the thread here sure got interesting)
un usuario comun y corriente I mean, at least in the sequels the actors tried with their line delivery, unlike the prequels, where everything everyone says is monotone and sounds like a robot reading from a script.
@Landblaster Well, I mean, that the prequels were far more rememberable (also in meme potential and because of Clone-Wars) and more better (lore-wise and mostly character wise) but since you wanna speak acting-wise, I’d advise you to watch your words and know that the new trilogy was far, far, FAR worse in terms of acting, story, plot, characters and etc, or so to speak, but I’d also advise you to actually watch the Prequel trilogy instead of assuming it as bad or as awful as the new trilogy because of this video or videos against said prequel trilogy and have your opinions based on how you feel about it, it’d be nice. : )
Christian Channel Pretty sure he didn’t, or else he’d know just how rememberable the lines were or just how much personality that each character had, similar to that of the Anakin and Obi relationship they had.
@@landblaster1384 uhhhh no Well, you know what? I'll admit some characters sounded pretty robotic, but they are a minority compared to many other characters, who actually sounded pretty natural Yes, the sequels HAS decent acting, but that's it, they are mediocre alone, but compared to the prequels they are garbage
I am gonna have to disagree with you. The prequels had ideas sure but from a filmmaking stand point/writing stand point the sequels are very much better then the prequels.
SoulsofEvil I agree The Phantom menace and the attack of the clones are hard to watch but the revenge of the sith is great. The sequels are just more consistent except for the last Jedi but even that is better the phantom menace and the attack of the clones.
The person who should've asked who Rey was at the end should've been Elderly Watto. "Who are you?" Rey Skywalker "So do you want some podracing parts?"
Real shit? I need to get Netflix. I would get that on DVD but I just know that all future releases will be bundled with the new Zombie Island movie they made for the 50th anniversary
I started dying of laughter when she blew up the transport ship and she kills chewy. Not because chewy dies but because she did it and her reaction 😂 Plus I just hate Rey as a character
The problem with disney star wars movies is their main goal is to be star wars movies. Not to be great movies that explore new themes and techniques and revolutionize cgi.
Yeah she should of stayed dead at the end , MAKES NO SENSE FOR KYLO TO SAVE REY . When the fuck did Kylo an Rey have any ROMANTIC moments together? It’s a stupid ending.
Actually now she trained even longer then Luke did, got "powerful blood" in her veins and is a living personification of the Force, which is more of a "chosen one" traut than Mary Sue trait. Plus she never really won a duel against Kylo and technically does not win against Palpatine. She always needs the aid of the light side or force ghosts to barely stand a chance against any real threat.
Moreso poor directing. Natalie Portman, Samuel Jackson, Liam Neeson, even Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christansen are all pheomenal actors. Unfortunatley, Lucas isn't much of a people person, so he struggled to communicate very well with the actors on set.
JJ abrams was a good director. He was just caught in a horrible position. After no one liked the prequels, they wanted to play it safe and just start the trilogy well with TFA. At the time everyone liked TFA, and rogue one. But then the last Jedi happened and it was trash. JJ really couldn’t do anything to truly save everything, because Ruin Johnson already messed everything up, as well as Disney interfering and not let him make a long movie.
@@movieblocks9164 no excuse for the overly safe direction these films took. 7 and 9 are just fan service that we don't need. He had 2 years to prepare Rise of Skywalker and there was just no imagination. I was hopeful they would be bold and go out on a high but sadly it was a whimper
@@luk3y935 I agree that I wish that they weren't overly safe, but with the point the fanbase was in, if they tried to erase the last jedi, those who liked it would get mad. If they kept the decisions the last jedi made, then those who didn't like the film (such as me) would get angry.

In the prequels, some say that Palpatine didn't stop his lightning on purpose (and got deformed because of it) so Anakin would fall easier to the Dark Side "helping" him. At least it was pretty obvious to me since he electrocuted Mace Windu with so much power (unlimited power hahah). He always had control of the situation. In the OT, he didn't stop his lightning cause Vader was going to throw him to a certain death (and he did). In TROS... I have no idea xD.
In the prequels Palps was clearly doing it to get Anakin on his side, and he could also show the Senate his injuries from the Jedi fight. In the original trilogy Vader had a grip on him, force lightning was a method to kill Vader so hed not be able to kill Palpatine, and it did work but not fast enough. In the sequel trilogy Palpatine essentially kills himself
"Rose is barley in the movie." Barley, a member of the grass family, is a major cereal grain grown in temperate climates globally. It was one of the first cultivated grains, particularly in Eurasia as early as 10,000 years ago. I totally missed that.
Aaron Turner hell no, that’s literally just eye candy. You’re blinded by the visual aspect of the those movies. At least phantom menace and attack of the clones added to the story.
The new trilogy is a gift for anyone who liked the prequels. I was a kid when the prequels came out and loved them, but I had to pretend i didn't. Now I can say without fear that I love Darth Maul. Thx Rian Johnson and Jj Abrams. Lol.
they spent 2 movies shoving new side characters down our throats, and then gave us the same old bad guy again, NO resolution to the love triangles that felt odd to begin with, but even more odd once they just abandoned them outright. they took no risks.......
Edwar Son but Roy is the best character ever and doesn’t have obvious character development problems so they tried to force importance by Roy being heir to the Ovaltine Empire or give Roy powers that seem to not make sense because of said not horrible character development!
Well because most people are not creative lol so it's like someone who can't make food will be happy eating anywhere as long as he eats out .. if you don't have any standards to compare things it does not make your opinion less valid but less relevant..I know people that are expert's when it comes to editing and good quality movies so if they say it's bad 99 % it's just bad! cheers 🍻😇
Me and my father rewatched the old movies after TROS and we noticed how full and colorful was their speech and then you have comedy for 10 year olds in the new movies it's just disappointing
The only good part about this movie was seeing Wedge Antilles again; he's my favourite character and pretty much the only reason I sat through the film.
I don't need anyone's help now, I know everything now, I can fix everything now, I fly now, I heal now, I teleport things now, I shoot lightning now, I bring down enormous ships out of the sky now, I absorb all of Sith & Jedi now, I don't care about anyone now.... I AM GOD! I AM REEEEEEEEEEEY!
Why does ray have almost as much power as starkiller even though starkiller was literally trained since he was a child in fighting using force abilities
I just wanted something when i finished this movie: time to breath. As much as it tried to fix everything wrong from before, it is rushed, there's no time to think about what is happening.
Honestly, what I did like about the movie was that they actually turned kylo ren. Ofc I would have wished it happened sooner, and that he didn’t die but personally I was waiting for either of them to turn since I like their “we’re equals etc” dynamic. Even Rey turning to the dark side would have been better since she’s been a good Mary Sue this whole movie and her becoming evil would just add a bit more dimension and good unexpectedness into her character.
I’d rather watch Anakin and Padmé flirt and make out in Attack of the Clones on loop for the rest of my life than have to suffer through the sequel trilogy one more time.
I think it makes more sense that Kylo knows force heal and how to casually lift a plane. He was somewhat trained by Snoke/Palpatine and Luke for a short period of time. But honestly it doesn't matter at this point since it's turned into a joke.
You didn't get the point of the original trilogy or Star Wars in general, didn't you? Size doesn't matter, training doesn't really matter either, because it's your willpower and faith in the Force which counts (source: Yoda in Episode V and Obi-Wan in IV, V & VI). Luke's Training was just cosmetics, but strengthen his faith in the Force was Yoda goal. Your lack of faith is disturbing.
Archgangel Rsr training does matter, even if someone believed in the force (like Luke did) they still need to train. You bring up Luke needing to have faith in the force, but he already believes in it and can use minor force powers. Faith and willpower are large components, but you need to learn about the force. A strong will and hope won’t make someone a Jedi, they need to work towards becoming that.
@@archangelrsr1326 I don't think you even understand Star Wars in general if you say something so ignorant. There are many lightsaber forms you can learn which does take time to learn, and on the topic of using the force which again takes time, it's been stated in these movies you have mentioned and even in the comics and video games. Your point is both false and cringe.
@@Jafod1262 Hey, man...thanks. Lol. Seriously though, I have a lot of respect for that film. To me, it's not only the best Star Wars film but a top 20-25 film of all time in general. IMDB has it in their top 20, I believe. I even got it above other classic Sci-Fi films like Terminator, Terminator 2 : Judgement Day, Alien, Aliens, Predator 1987, etc etc
Rey fighting Palpatine has no emotional impact. Unlike Ep3 and Ep6 where there is honest emotion and meaning in the final battles. I felt nothing at the end of Ep9. I rewatch Ep3 and get goosebumps every time. I watch Ep6 and get goosebumps ever time. There were no stakes, emotion or meaning in The Sequels. Merely a cash grab of a trilogy.
Remember when Force Awakens trailer was announced? Everyone was hyped for a new StarWars movie. Remember when Last Jedi was in theaters? Fans were disappointed. Remember Rise of Skywalker? 6/10...
I think The Rise Of Skywalker is better than that turd known as Shrek The Third but I think it's bad comparison because Shrek The Third is the worst of the Shrek films. I think The Rise Of Skywalker is better than The Last Jedi and it's debatable as to which is better between The Rise Of Skywalker and The Force Awakens. The Rise Of Skywalker is at least the 2nd best film of this Trilogy and maybe the best of the Sequel Trilogy. I would say there's a better Trilogy comparison but I'm having a hard time thinking of it right now.
Rose was so irrelevant. Almost no fight scenes just like Endgame In fact, this is pretty much a copy & paste of Endgame with the conclusion being the biggest part of the film. And everyone coming in at the precise moment when Poe knew they were gonna lose. It’s really plot convenience that messes up these movies. Disney doesn’t give a fuck because they know they’re gonna get money regardless.
Robocop pulled off the, "Who are you?" ending. Throughout the movie, he's told that he's not human and he's just a freak robot but in the end he says his real name and not the title of the movie. Even though he died, he is the same man...Murphy.
"We'll do this FOR CHEWY!" ~Hey gang Chewy's back! Rey: "I've learned literally nothing. Using absolute destructive power carelessly is what I'll strive for from now on."
Imagine in the the story, Rey died while fighting Kylo REN in the Last Jedi. Finn finds Rey at the brink of death. After she dies in his arms, Finn takes the lightsaber and fights Kylo Ren, only to barely escape with his life. And the rest of the franchise after that is Finn’s training to become a Jedi as he endure the battle between the Dark side that wants to kill Kylo REN for murdering his friend and the Light side that trains him to be the Jedi Rey would want him to be. Also Palpatine is still dead. But he is a ghost within Kylo REN’s conscious. He keeps corrupting his mind towards the Dark side whenever REN has doubts about the path he chose.
@Jacob Freeman I've also had another idea. What if the Snoke Kylo Ren killed in the Last Jedi wasn't the real Snoke. In fact, Snoke isn't a person, but a clan of Sith seeking to plunge the universe into darkness. The guy that Kylo Ren killed was just a member of the clan and is different from the person Kylo Ren talked to on the Force Awakens.
