I watched "Clone Cadets" with my friend's 6 year old son. He loved the Dominoes, especially Hevy and Cutup. He asked me if the boys served under Rex in thr 501st, so we watched "Rookies" next. We both cried.
I hope Bad Batch Season 3 focus on Captain Rex, Echo and their growing Rebel cell of unchipped Clone Troopers when gathering weapons and strength to oppose the Empire. They might even make a base at Rishi that the Empire don't know or care after taking care of Kaminoans.
Tis a shame the neighboring galaxy wasn't mentioned, Kamino could've done business with both galaxies and if need be a whole new galaxy for find refuge from the Empire.
@@thekaxmax The Vong are from a galaxy way outside of this cluster. OP is probably referring to companion Aurek (the Rishi Galaxy), where the Vong's home galaxy is Andromeda distances away from the Star Wars galaxy. In Universe it's taken at minimum centuries, but more likely millennia to reach the Star Wars Galaxy.
@@Meyr3356 Several thousand lightyears at most, so an associated globular cluster (also called, legitimately, a galaxy): "The Yuuzhan Vong's worldship convoy crossed the void to leave their galaxy and come to the known one. Because the dovin basals could not properly lock onto any point in the galaxy, the Yuuzhan Vong were forced to travel at sublight speed. This journey lasted several millennia." Several millennia at sublight equals several thousand lightyears at maximum.
@@thekaxmax The fact that they couldn't lock onto the galaxy is actually pretty significant lore-wise. There was an ancient barrier in place to prevent such things.
@@kylepessell1350 The Rishi Spiral was given as the reason. It's a total bastard to navigate--Rishi is functionally impossible to get to except by the absolute best navigators. The Vong didn't want to even try until they had no choice, IIRC. Quite apart from any possible barrier.
It was important enough, that the listening post was actually a deadman switch - if they _stopped_ sending the all-clear, Kamino knew a attack was imminent.

In summary hutts naturally aren’t fat until they get rich and we’re actually very smart live long and took over less advanced aliens turned them to slaves to attack and established a pretty big empire while the old republic was young
they are ruthless, physically powerful, smart, determined, and were in a good place at the start to become gang bosses and slavers. They've capitalised on that over millennia, and were powerful enough--and useful enough--that neither the the Republic, or the Galactic Empires have taken the thousands of systems in Hutt Space from them.
Many thousands of years earlier (dating all the way back to pre-Republic era), the Hutts were a warrior race of conquerors. Remember, Hutts don't *have* to be obese, and a healthy Hutt would actually be an enormous mass of muscle with blaster-resistant skin. Quite formidable on the battlefield. Later, they used slave soldiers from conquered races to do the fighting for them. And later still, they decided that the safest way to dominate was to do so economically rather than militarily. And since Hutt society sees crime (at least as defined by *other people's* laws) as a completely acceptable form of "business", you end up with a lot of Hutt gangsters.
It seems so odd how Kamino, the main source of all the clones, was so remote and close to separatist territory, until you remember that Palpatine was playing both sides. He not only constructed them in total secret but planned for them to be phased out in favor of Stormtroopers. The clone army that was built to be loyal to the Republic was also built to be easily swept under the rug after betraying it, without the galaxy at large knowing or caring.
A small outpost guarding the only approach to a significant facility staffed by only a squad of rookies? With thinking like that, why didn't the Republic lose the war?
the Rishi inhabitants make me think: I wonder if there are/have been any planets encountered in star wars that are at the same technological level as present day earth (20th and 21st centuries). Also, it would be cool to see a currently advanced civilization such as the humans of coruscant as they were in the past, either below or at our current level of progression. We always see civilizations well after they have achieved space travel, so it would be interesting to see planets at a pre-space age level of progress. Imagine if a jedi ship crashed on a planet that was in the middle of the dark ages!
There probably are. But of course, any such planet would be seen as ripe for exploitation as soon as it's discovered. At least if it has any particular resources valuable enough to be worth the trouble, that is. If it's a world that's just nothing special, I have no idea how that'd be handled.
Rishi is basically the vital stronghold and chokepoint that protects the military heart of the republic and bottlenecks the only route available for the separatists to use to attack it. As well as several as an eventual vital base to enable the republic to eventually reconquer that sector of the galaxy from.
Say what I will about TCW 2008, at least the Domino Squad is at most one of those great storylines that should have been done first by Legends. Speaking of Legends, I wonder if the moon was still attacked if not harassed after, say, the failed Mon Calamari Sepper attack on the planet.
The first time Dooku and Sidious let them because they found out about the planet and wanted to use the battle to get rid of some of the best CIS leaders like Merai so the war could be prolonged. The second time was because they took out the Rishi Moon base to allow them to have a better chance to attack. The third time, I have no idea, I know very little about that third battle.
That's kinda...bad for the Lore right? I mean I know Sidious and Count Dooku were running the war on both sides, but that just seems like anybody with half a brain and some ambition would've just attacked Rishi, cut it off, and did massive damage before Sidious or Dooku could interfere. And even if they do bring it to Dooku, what is he going to say? I got nothing, no good reason not to just attack outright. It's like anybody in the cis is should be able to see that the Republic is in an incredibly weak position on several fronts and it just boggles the mind that the Republic wasn't taken out of the fight way early. Kamino falls, that's it. Well I mean unless they're going to start drafting people.
@thekaxmax Right, but I guess I just need an accurate depiction on what that means. Obviously it's not impossible to get to and *_SOMEBODY_* in the confederacy has to know how to get there. I guess Sifo-Dyas erasing it from galactic records could be why nobody knows how to get there, but I still don't like it. I mean, unless the Kaminoans were totally self-sufficient, and we know they weren't, somebody had to be making those trade runs to and from Kamino. I just don't like contrivance like this, I think that's my issue. I think if you're gonna have war, especially large-scale galactic battles, with trillions of lives on the line, it needs to be grounded in how real wars are conducted. Allot of times the strategies and tactics are not well thought out in this franchise I feel. Important locations and targets are ignored in favor of more spectacular battle locales for the sake of the visual spectacle of the movie. And that's no good.
@@MetaSynForYourSoul as it's depicted in SWTOR and elsewhere, the Rishi Maze is a really hard navigation job because of dust clouds, hyperspace gravity barriers, and other things that mean it takes a master navigator, or a well-skilled navigator and a good map.
