I really like the serious Seiko 5. I have a special affection for SNK 809 and SNK381. They all have a perfect size 37mm in diameter, it is very charming. The metal used in the cases are of excellent quality, stainless and solid, have a passivation layer that makes them always look new.
I paid 165 here in US for this watch, brand new. It was more expensive because this is J series marked designating manufactured IN JAPAN. K Series are from Malaysia, China etc. Nice watches.
Good video. The SNXS is a very good-looking watch. It's incredible how much Seiko can pack in for such an affordable price (under $100). I think you lucked out at that, price it's still a good value at $100. For those with tight budgets and looking for a handsome piece, this is a very solid choice.

I own the silver dial version on an aftermarket Oyster bracelet and it makes a stunning, understated, classically-sized, sporty retro dress watch. Best purchase ever!
Same here, I got a tip on a aftermarket Oyster-style bracelet in which you can use the original endlinks and fit the aftermarket in, since the mid-links have same width. The clasp is cheap and simple, but the bracelet over all works fine with the SNXS7* models and looks great. Have the silver dial as well. Great value.
Great review ! Small suggestion - it would be better if you’d shown the watch first with the original bracelet and then with the mod as many buyers like me wouldn’t bother with getting additional straps. Great shots nonetheless !
I chose the SNKL45 over the SNSX79, and do not regret it :) the case is more curved and imo fits my slim wrist much better than the flatter/pointier case from the 79 would.
When I saw the last sale of Snxs79 sent to Turkey on October 21st on Amazon USA, I immediately placed an order and was very happy. Then I filled in the requested information in the e-mail from Aramex cargo and sent it. One day later, I saw that the cargo was damaged and canceled on my shopping page. !! It didn't seem very convincing to me. Even though they thought that my money would be refunded within 3-5 days, no payment was made yet. I started to worry about this too. I don't know if anyone has experienced this kind of thing like me..
I have the snxs77 with a blue dial and there is just something about the dial that makes it the best looking I've ever seen. For me the case shape fits perfecty. The protruding case back sits in the hollow near my ulna 'bump' so it just looks like a thin watch. My only issue is when it stops keeping time (by the way it's currently running 3 seconds fast, incredible). The service costs more than the watch!
Yeah, the blue on these dials is stunning. By the way, when it will need service (which will take at least 10 years), just get a NH35 and put it in. Will be cheaper than service, and it will be an upgrade. Maybe Seiko even has new affordable upgraded movements that will fit by then lol.

The thing about the watch floating over your wrist for me it is Indeed a deal breaker. I was planning on buying this precious looking watch or other model SNK. Thanks God I watched that shot of you carrying it on this video. If Seiko can't do a mechanical watch that falls flat on our wrist, better don't do it. Try quartz then! (yeah, I'm annoyed and even angry)
My only complain is the number 5 on the logo/dial. If it didn’t have it will look cleaner and you need a bracelet which a good one cost 120usd. Can you link the bracelet you got or other options?
Also when I looked for thos watch SNXS79, many of the listing shows a similar one with a black day and date and I think a red second hand. So my question is does Seiko used the exact model for the different models? I just got back into Seiko and playing catch up and let me tell you bc they don’t name their watches brained saying it’s a Seiko 5, it’s really difficult to keep up with the varied models. Or the one I looked at is a fake bc they I messaged them and 2 (maybe same dealer) blocked me.

It depends on the strap material. I can squeeze in a 20mm cloth nato, but you’d probably have more of a problem with a leather strap or a straight lug metal bracelet

It is certainly undesirable but I hardly notice it on my seven inch wrist, nor should others. I even like its peculiar case shape since it adds to its distinct 60s' vibe.
Too small unless your Ant Man. 39 or 40mm, then this would be the ultimate Rolex killer. Mind you, I have one and like it but on anything larger than. 7” wrist, it looks disproportionate. Of course this is MO and you may have a different opinion. The lume on these, even during the day, gives me a boner. It truly sets this watch off in daylight. Love and hate.
