Good choice! You can do amazing things with just about ANY lens. The problem today is that many RU-vidrs and reviewers are SELLING gear not TEACHING you how to get the most out of it! You're making perfect sense to me, I agree 100%. In any art form limitations are good at forcing the person to use their creativity. Having mobility issues I find using smaller, lighter lenses and bodies make it easier for me to enjoy my photography / videography rather than having to give it up. Also, I'm only shooting images for fun so the kit lens is more than adequate for my level. Many thanks for your vid.

This kit lens is easily the best I've ever used on any camera. I pair it with a Sigma 30mm prime portrait lens and that's enough for 99% of shots I need to do. When I need to capture wide shots or far-away objects (or very close objects), I throw on the kit lens. Everything else - portrait lens. Since I do mostly talking-head videos, this works very well for me and I don't need to carry around 1000 lenses (or pay for them!)

Hello from France. What sets you apart from all the presentations I've seen of the ZVE10 with the 18-50 is that you film your entire demo with the hardware you're talking about. You say that we can do very good things, but in addition you demonstrate it. There is no talk Your beautiful images mean that it's not just the material that is important, but also the photographic talent. For that, as you say, you have to work! Lately I’ve been coming back to this lens as my general everyday lens for the reasons you mentioned. Light, small, decent zoom range, oss, and cheap. I like to stay minimal with my everyday kit and this lens allows me to stay discreet and still get decent results. Heavily slept on lens.

Man, great to see another one of your videos. I really love your calm yet interesting style of narration. Once again, I think your point is absolutely valid. The first video I made purposely for youtube was shot with kit lenses and has no b-roll. It's all static shots too, yet it's my most popular video because the topic fit a need. I tend to get lost in the details because I enjoy the creative process but at the end of the day substance is more important than style every time.

Honestly, I quite liked it. I remember seeing this video when I first got this setup, and I definitely agree that it mostly comes down to us as creators to make the best out of the gear we have. It's certainly more than good enough to get started. I now have the Tamron 17-70 on my Sony ZV-E10, and it's so much better, but I'm still considering keeping this kit lens around. I won't be able to sell it for much anyway, and the compactness of the lens is quite unbeatable. Great video! Cool that you shot everything with the equipment you talked about :).

kit lens for me had only one con. It gave me understanding of which focal length I need to buy for my prime lens set. It's really good idea to shoot street photo or portraiture or whatever you want every day on only one focal length. For example 16, 18, 23, 30, 35, 50. After a while you will find best focal lengths for your self. I end up with 12mm, 23, 30 and 56. Kit lens was sold.

First let me say it is good to see you back up and posting, I am glad losing some content did not keep you down. I started with the kit lens and found that most of what I shot was in 30mm so I bought the Sigma 30mm 1.4 which is a great piece of glass for the price. I now have the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 just to give me some range, but I have to say, the kit lens is always in my bag and I pop it on the ZV-E10 when I want to take some quick shots and I want to go lightweight. Overall I am glad I pay the extra $100 to get it with the E10. I do however like that the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for not getting darker as I zoom in.

Hilariously right on! One minute in,this man shows culture👍I had to stop,make me a drink,and go sit in grannie's rocking chair, down there on the creek before going further. Salute that. Regarding the kit lens--if you can't get a million great photos and 10,000 sweet videos out of that lens,you don't deserve to upgrade yet! This lens is fully capable of excellent art and since they're inexpensive to replace,even better for outdoors in rugged conditions. "Take two they're small!" -subbed

No doubt! Experience will give you the MOST confidence when it comes to cameras and really just anything in life! My tips would be to get as MUCH TIME IN as you can when it comes to using your camera. Take it with you everywhere and take as many photos and videos as you can. I was about to buy sony ZVE 10 but was not sure if the lena is good Enough or not but this video cleared all the things. I got to know about the project and now I can finally go ahead and order the camera as this is my first camera. So your video pretty much tells me every thing I needed to know about the lens. Also, I am a beginner And this really helps me to give all that motivation to pursue the passion of photography and be a good person doing that.

I used the kot lens 16-50 with my sony zv e10 for about 6 months now and i can say its a great lens to start you content and to start learning how to use a camera. These days i just bought a sigma 16mm f1.4 to increase my quality. I will use the 2 lens for different shots that i need

I was really insecure on buying the ZV E10 with the standard lenses - a lot of photography creators weren’t recommending them and recommending the Viltrox one instead. Photography is my hobby and getting a new camera is a big step for me 😂 This video ensured I made the right decision of not splurging on a new camera + new lenses! Just made this purchase and love everything about this, especially the shirt, and the “Sony can’t help it if you suck” disclaimer. 😂 RU-vid needs more reviews like this. I’ll be moving up from just shooting with an iPhone 13 Pro max (GREAT for a phone, but still doesn’t compare to an SLR or DSLR), and a very old Nikon D60 that doesn’t even shoot video, so I’d probably be impressed with any upgrade. But I’m excited for this camera. 🙂

ZV-E10 with kit lens for 750€, or ZV-E10 with sigma 16mm F1.4 + sigma 30mm F1.4, but without kit lens for 1100€. both options are barely used, few months old, under warranty.. i think i know which way the answer will go, but just want to be sure 😀thank you!
