Yield curve inverted for over 500 days. Last times this happened, it didn't go well for equities (1929, 1971, 2008). That's also how you get treasury bonds bought, as it escapes the equities markets. In short, they need a black swan to scare the markets, shake out equities, thus pushing more capital into treasuries. Yo.

Most of our treasury bonds are owned by rich people. And the interest is paid by tax payers. So you can see why the rich hate to pay taxes. They'd just be paying their own interest. It's also interesting that fund managers charge fees based on the wealth they're managing but we pretend the federal government can't. Again, rich people just hate paying taxes. And our economy is circling the drain as the capitalists jack up prices and drive down wages. If only somebody warned us about this sort of thing hundreds of years ago: “The true measure of a nation's wealth is not the size of its king's treasury or the holdings of an affluent few but rather the wages of the laboring poor”- Adam Smith

I am down 50K in the last 10 days. I wish I had 50K laying around to add to my exposure. I will just keep on buying, at least the things I am long in. There are few things that I was long in but now I am looking for an out. Each of them has to be dealt with on a case by case basis. If I thought I was going to be rich by the end of the year, yes I would be worried. I only want to be comfortable once I retire, so I am good 🙂

The first step of the answer is austerity. Spend less than you take in....DUH! And since rampant gov spending is what's propping up the market that crashes to where it needs to be -30%. And YES higher for longer. I'm not talking about 5% I'm talking 8+%. Money will find its way to debt out of fear and no other opportunity. Stay the course for a decade and tada! BUT....the only way that will happen is if voters insist it should happen and retract their gimme, gimme, gimme hand. So THAT'S not going to happen. So hello third world status.

The main problem with inflation is the widespread terrible spending habits. Americans spend more instead of less when things get more expensive, exactly opposite of how Asians behave. Being Asian, I can't comprehend how Americans consistently spend more than they make compared to much poorer asians.

No magic trick... Billion dollar earners pay close to nothing in taxes, but the guy making 50k pays through the nose. So the deficit is being paid off by folks making less than .001% of interest the billionaires make... And the billion makers complain about the little taxes they do pay, and move to more tax friendly states... most people making 50k can't just up and move to save on taxes.
