I've never understood the strictness about stuff like that in any organization. it's one thing if someone wears the patches/uniform because they're trying to impersonate, or pretend like they are actually part of an organization. it's another if you put it on your child for any reason if you are part of that organization. Frankly it's pretty insecure behavior.

I think this was a good thing for him now. He’s a successful RU-vidr with over 1 million fans and get to spend time with his family more, I don’t think he could’ve asked for more
No, I think it's a pretty obvious violation. He made it appear as if a federal agency wants your 12 year old to use a chainsaw, something that is illegal in almost all states. This wasn't jealousy, it was stupidity.
Yep, probably near retirement and maxed out on the pay scale. They couldn't careless about the value of an employee who obviously takes pride in his job and tried to educate the public on a very serious and dangerous task. His union should be able to get him back to work. It may take up to a year but I just can't see the union letting that stand. It's damn near impossible to get fired from a unionized federal job. I know, I used to be one and the legitimate things I saw people get fired for and still come back to work amazed me. Fighting, f******, stealing, attendance, you name it and I always saw them come back unless they just didn't fight it.
This needs to go viral. Teaching your kids tool safety is awesome. Forest service should have jumped on this to advocate tool safety and promote what they're trying to do along with bolstering recruitments.

@@frankiechiappetta6499 Greetings Frankie. Just to clarify; I wasn’t “discharged” from the military, instead I honorably retired. Regarding your question Sir; you are correct, if you obey code of conduct you stay out of trouble… but that’s different from what we’re discussing here (back stabbing). Backstabbing will always exist in all organizations, and is usually a result of professional jealousy or dirty competition. An individual can display perfect behavior, yet eloquently backstab their peers. I hope this helps.

I can't express fully enough how I feel for you on this. As a Dad who wants his kids to be part of my life and career, I would have done the same and feel the same pain from the unfairness of such a strong reprimand for doing a noble act.
And as the owner of a business, I can’t express enough how important it is to keep you work life separate from your home life. Would have been easy to get a helmet for his son. Still. A lame excuse to fire someone. And should have been a reprimand.
That is so unfortunate. Not knowing who it was would be the worst thing for me, but it's evident you moved onto bigger and better things! I love this channel and how useful and entertaining it is.

There is the legality of liability when there is a perceived notion that they officially support kids under 16 using chainsaws when there is laws that forbid the use of anyone under the age of 16 (U.S. Department of Labor [29 CFR 570 Subpart E-1] "The hazardous occupations order forbids persons under the age of 16 to operate, adjust, or clean a chainsaw or any other power-driven saw.") They even limit if further to 18 in some cases and you will find chainsaw education programs all have a minimum age of 16 as well.
