Ur right, it’s a shame unfortunately the world is so cynical about things that Superman isn’t viewed to be “corny” by many and only “interesting” unless he’s like Snyders take or being evil…via injustice or something like homelander
@@TheSsjJoker Personally, Snyder's take on Superman was interesting, it's just that, people didn't see the arc coming and thought he was always gonna be a struggling hero
@@Senior_Heel heres the thing making Superman struggle would have been interesting but it’s been done before in other media plus the poor writing and character decisions
@@TheSsjJoker I have read Justice League 2 and 3 Storyboards, they are actually better than Justice League which is better than BVS which is better than Man of Steel, it's just that people and WB couldn't wait
Top 5 favorite Superman stories 1. All-Star Superman 2. Superman: Up in the Sky 3. Superman smashes the Klan 4. What happened to the man of tomorrow? 5. The Death of Superman
All great choices, however I am just now finding out "Superman Smashes the Klan" is a thing. I thought that was a joke till I looked it up haha. Definitely gonna check it out!
@@gamecitysavior2910 Absolute Superman : For tomorrow isn’t even out yet. First issue comes out next month. I didn’t read New Krypton yet so can’t give my opinion on that. Also did you just call me google?
If you can't write a good Superman story cause you think he is too powerful or boring, then the problem is you not Superman cause it has been done many times without betraying the core of the character
Would the character have lasted 80+ years if he were considered boring? Would they still be hiring writers to write comics for him if no one likes him? This is what I say to people that say Superman is irrelevant or boring or whatever
All Might from My Hero Academia is a great example of who Superman is. He inspires and gives hope to everyone! I think modern adaptations of Superman fails to capture the duality of Clark Kent and Superman. I hope James Gunn DC Universe succeeds.
Superman has had MUCH physical struggle. I honestly can’t believe anyone who’s ever seen any superman media could actually believe he’s too op. We’ve got hundreds of characters that can challenge or beat him, he has some easily exploitable weaknesses, etc. his character has been multidimensional since his inception. The fight in bvs was a man shoving another and waiting until he was about to die so he could finally tell the guy why there was no point in fighting. Liking dceu movies is respectable, but saying there was actual potential or that there was actually some well written superhero movies or movies in general in there…is a stretch you can’t argue.
Davids superman is going to be a good movie, i already have faith. I can tell just by looking at his suit, its just diffrent enough to the comics to feel updated while still staying true to the classic vibes thats i feel man of steel didnt have. Also i think having a less well known cast alows you to see the charcter and not the actor, but sadly all some people want to see is the actors and have no care for the charcaters their playing
It’s difficult for a Superman movie to fail, even Returns had to be killed. The fact that this movie is probably the most talked about movie of the year without a trailer says enough
Superman (not movie Superman) Superman doesn't need LL to make him ( more human ) his parents did that already it's because of the kents (not movie kents) Suprrman hasn't try to take over the world
Synders superman is okay, but the darker take sometimes ruined supermans character. Yes i want too see my superman work up to the symbol of hope, and i want (despite how much ut pisses me off) people too dislike him, but i dont want him too be immensely moody. Very much new 52 feeling superman but the henry 200% played superman so very well.
It's his main weakness and one of the only ones that has remained pretty consistent. The others don't really effect him that badly. He's fought a universe made of magic. He's moved planets while under a red sun. Stuff like that. Yes he can resist kryptonite too, but it works far more consistently.
@@IBNStudios but while BVS'S (that's plural ) can be impactfull this BVS was really boring and yes i know it's a redemption ark for a fallen Batman frankly the original 2002 BVS Did it beter
Oh yeah same here! It's certainly possible since he played him in Teen Titans Go and The Flash. Dude even has a son named Kal-El. He'll do anything for Superman haha
Yo my dude, you don't have to go commenting a million things as to why someone is wrong or views something wrong. I'm sure you mean well but this comes off as incredibly condescending. I'm a huge fan of the comics and other media like Smallville and the animated stuff but the focus of this video is just on Superman's cinematic iterations. Many people can also have different interpretations. I'm also going off of what Zack Snyder has said too.
@@IBNStudios yes that's my problem live action Superman in general (exceptions exsist) can't really depict Superman Only comics animation and audio form can and yet the majority is stuck on live action i don't understand that what is point in praising something inferior
So much is inferior to the comics but because of how many average people don't read them, the movies will always be at the center of popculture and what most people feel how Superman is portrayed. Honestly, with all the knowledge you have you should make a video yourself on how Superman has yet to be well adapted in film haha. I appreciate the passion you got. Anyways have a great day!
To be fair a movie serial is a lot different than a movie. Plus there was even a big screen film with George Reeves but both are not nearly as popular in the cultural zeitgeist as Donner's original film.
Honestly? Playing the game undefeated on ps5 for the first time was amazing because it proved to me that it is possible to make a good Superman game it's just that every game company in their mama is to pussified to do it by hiding behind people's outdated and overused excuses that Superman is too overpowered and boring It made me severely disappointed that a few random people with such a limited budget were more brave and successful at creating a game based on Superman than every billion dollar game company on the planet Im tired of getting Batman and Spider-Man games because as much as I love those characters they've already had their time to shine in games since I'd say Batman and Spider-Man are clearly the main and most successful superhero games other than other notable games like the infamous series for example but Batman is for some reason still getting Arkham Shadow even though Arkham Knight was supposed to be the last Batman Arkham game and Spider-Man has managed to get 3 PS5 games made about him not to mention the several he's been had before long before Insomniac ever entered the picture while Superman hasnt had anything since like the ps2 era except for Lego games, DCUO, fighting games or a game that takes place in the Arkhamverse for no reason where you are forced to kill him because they used the evil Superman trope again for the millionth time acting like injustice didn't do that already years ago where you don't even see him until very later in the game and he doesn't even speak until his boss fight where your forced to kill him right after killing Batman by using the power of plot no jutsu
@@ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΑ-ε1ω hahaha if you mean about the tone, the tone is perfect. I've always and still do find the movie funny, the problem for me is it's a little all over the place. The movie is still somthing I personally like, but its easy too see why people aint as into it.
Idk man...i just never saw the appeal in superman. Maybe bc i grew up w xmen cartoons and supes seemed so plain and arbitrarily powered but, i just dont care for him
It's unfortunate but Henry had a great run. Not many actors get to play a superhero 4 times. I'm sad too but open to James Gunn's vision. It's about time we have a consistent DC universe. The DCEU was all over the place tonally and in quality.
6:43 I kinda want to rebuttal a little bit at this claim. Maybe I'm biased because I just didn't see a lot of superhero stuff when I was little, but I remember both the Justice League and Teen Titans cartoons kicking ass back then and a lot of the attention seemed to have been aimed towards the small screen more so than the movies. I wasn't even aware of the 90s Batman movies until I got older. It seemed that the DC movie momentum really started to pick up once the Dark Knight trilogy took off. That momentum continued throughout the early years of the DCEU until it fell flat on its face again with Whedon's Justice League. So really it sounds like your claim was that DC movies had a height of popularity between 2008 and 2016. Now that I heavily disagree with that as I feel Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises deserve the same level of recognition as the second instalment of the trilogy. Even some of the later DCEU movies post Justice League like WW84, Birds of Prey, and The Shazam movies were pretty entertaining and funny. Which I love it for that.
