Vanilla flavored cereal? IDK, but if you wanna make it, make it a skeleton character. Maybe something interestingly thematic like making it a day of the dead skeleton character which is both spooky and culturally diverse

Anyone else think that Fruity Yummy Mummy should’ve been Cinnamummy? Has a better ring to it and I think a cinnamon flavor cereal would be more successful.And here’s another idea for a monster cereal: Tyranno S’mores Rex who would be a parody of Godzilla.
Honestly you could have the character work as a parody of "giant dinosaur" monsters (particularly the ones from a lot of '50s B-moviies) rather than Godzilla specifically.

Personally, i'd have thought that Creature Crunch was grape flavored instead of vanilla, with vanilla being something that would be colored white like a skeleton, but this gives me some ideas on other fictional IP's, like a cinnamon flavored one with a little imp mascot, or maybe a lemon-lime Cthulhu inspired one!
There was an episode of Robot Chicken about the Creature from the Black Lagoon finally getting his own Monster Cereal with hilarious results. Also, if you count The Shape of Water as a Gilman movie.
There is kind of a way around that…Sort of… It’s called borrow from the public domain of H.P. Lovecraft’s “Cthulhu Mythos”. Here’s my idea, “Deep One’s Slime Lime”. That’s, basically, what the “Creature From The Black Lagoon” really is a “deep one”… Think about it…
The mr. Hyde one could have a box that was divided in half with chocolate in one side and something like vanilla in the other. The box of the one with the Invisible Man would contain nothing hahaha
History has and will show that trying to be trendy with the pop culture of the time will fail. A goth DJ that's the best they could do? She's not even a new monster just frankenberrys cousin. It smacks of board rooms and focus groups.
I am totally opposed to allowing this to persist. I wish to formally submit my assertion that this is a terrible product that should be removed from shelves immediately and that it's creators be banished to outer Mongolia.

I'm certain that this being November, and they stop selling these Monster cereals after October 31, had nothing to do with the product being pulled from the store shelves.

I laughed a little hard st the thought of like bass or tuna flavored cereal . Here's a fun thought give us invisible man cereal. They could make the puffs slightly see through and have it a mystery favored.. everyone loves mystery flavored food.

I prompted Harry Gold to do a whole dive and art-style remix of the ridiculous Carmella situation, now I'm loving that we're doing forensics here on an ostensible old cereal box image.
How about an Invisible man cereal. Parents buy the box, the kids open the box and pour, however nothing comes out. Why? because the cereal is Invisible. The company would make a fortune selling empty boxes, bahahaha.
If they did exist they missed a heck of a chance sponsering my last video! So many creature crunchies could have been peddled... "Mommy , I want the cereal that turns my milk and tongue black!" the kids all scream.

@@JanetStarChild that’s a horrible idea. HOW would she even mix in with the rest of the monster cereal monsters??? Those mascots are meant to have kid friendly UNIVERSAL APPEAL. Add an established character whose main gear is S3/X APPEAL in a children’s setting, we got a problem.

Not sure if General Mills will make a monster cereal based off of the Headless Horseman, Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde or the Phantom of the Opera. After all. Those three are in the public domain.
I really love learning of the monster cereals but i always thought yummy mummy and fruit brute was way off. Who thinks "brute" for a werewolf? I always thought the cookie crisp wolf "chip" fit better. And yummy mummy is so forced. Also this isn't complaining about anyone that likes rhe cereals, i just think the mascot name and gimmick just didn't fit as well ws chocula, boo-berry, or even Frankenberry which yeah is forced but it got in at the right time.

The prospect of a Phantom of the Opera cereal was quashed when the titular character became more identifiable with the stage musical. An Invisible Man cereal might be doable...can't really see much interest in a MAD GHOUL, METALUNA MUTANT or MOLE PEOPLE cereal, but I see no reason why they can't break away from Universal with a JEKYLL /HYDE,, GODZILLA, or KONG variety, if only at Halloween.
Well to be fair I think it could work, just go with a "Mermaid" character.... (Mermaids are part fish and part human after all, and are also in the public domain....) The hard part would perhaps be coming up with a flavor.... (My thoughts are perhaps go with some toasted corn cereal.... ) "Phish Flakes?"
Feel like creature idea might have some legs if you scrap the part for green cereal switch the flavor to possibly possibly grape or peach simplify the design make the character a fish girl sandy , gillian, that's just my opinion.
Hilarious internet fight! There's no real end to monster mascots possible except the strength of the brand and the cereal itself. Out of curiosity, what other flavors/characters would be possible? Vanilla invisible man? Music monster Grape? Cenobite cinnamon?
Idk what the music monster is supposed to be, also I think the cenobite would be a little too much cause cenobites are more like slasher killers than halloween monsters
@ruffruggednraw Music Monster would be the kid (and IP) friendly phantom of the opera. While the Cenobite thing was mostly a joke sense it rhymes with Cinnamon.
There was a gremlins cereal what about a gremlin/mogwai inspired mascot? Or maybe since there was a Ghostbusters cereal, a Slimer or Stay Puft inspired monster mascot?
Oh the crispy crunch creature when you said it i instantly know if not the source i know where they got the idea. Because look at the robot chicken youtube video on the creature with the black macaroons and it is the top comment. Now i believe the comment has been edited because i could have sworn at a earlier time it said it was a knock off cereal and that is why it wasn't well known and it was cinnamon flavored like captain crunch. basically it was a knockoff for two cereals at the same time. But yeah it is clear that story isn't true and is sad because apparently they were considering a new monster to the line up for a mixed berry with the options being berrypatra (rebrand of yummy mummy), dr jekylberry, bride of frankenberry, or phantom of the berry which yeah those all suck. At least carmella creeper doesn't feel forced, unique and good flavor choice, and she's a zombie. They could change her up easily because yeah she feels very modern but the concept i think works
I think it sounds good, Crispy Creature Crunch! I would think H.G. Wells's Invisible Man, yeah I'm thinking something plain icky flavorless and hard to think of a proper name, I'm sure I'm not the only one whom thinks so!?
The Creature Crunch hoax goes back to at least 2013. The blog Dinosaur Dracula had a page about it, regional test market and all. I cant find the page right now but maybe you could look into it. The gaslighting is at least 10 years old. I read about it on Wikipedia in 2018 and then found the older dinosaur dracula page.
Funny these people haven't pushed ACTUAL unreleased monsters that have had controversy sharing on social media. Some of these ideas include witches, doctors, spiders, and an early mummy idea that looked like it got pretty far....
lol thank you for doing gods work ma man. And yes (sadly) wikipedia hasn't been reliable or accurate for a long time. Some exceptions of course. If you want reel cringe look at Esra Millers wikipedia entry: "gender *@*!" and it goes onto a very cringe (and gramitically terible) profile " they refer to they selves as they because they are " blah blah blah. Some toys I had from back in the day have minor errors. Famously the page on Hitler (that one) was one of the first to need protection since people were upset at it being up at all. As to the black lagoon creature logo: subtle round box was one thing: the first I noticed was the mascot was cut off and embossed, the beveled edges were simply wrong as well, looking. At least in the video. Thanks for noting it's fan, fantasy though your eagle eyes got saw a lot of things that didn't pop out in the video. (again on my screen blah blah blah). Fun Fact! General Mills, did, for sometime in the 60s (???) have a radio show themed around all kinds of creatures. One was the creature from the lagoon IIRC. It was however never called that. It was called something like fishman or the missing link. Besides we all know it's dinosaurs. :P thanks for the great video!

Carmel creatcher would have been way better than that focus group farce. Not since poochy the dog have i seen such obvious out of touch pandering. The creature is green the whole theme fits... ugh.
These cereals suck now. Ever since they reduced the sugar and swapped out Oat flour with corn and corn meal. Back in the day the first 2 ingredients of these cereals was sugar first and oat flour second. But now its whole grain corn first, corn meal second and sugar third.
You forgot to mention that General Mills cereal absolutely sucks and therefore all of the cereal mentioned in this video sucks. General Mills has a distinct taste and as I got older I realized it's not good so I stick to Kellogg's, Post, or Cap N' Crunch (Quaker Oats). Trust me every Halloween I'm tempted to buy some Boo Berry but I know that I'm going to hate it so I won't waste my money. Kids like General Mills because they are always using IPs for popular kids shows or movies but they all have the same crappy taste.
It has been said that some take offense to the appearance of Gill-Man, and how they gave him large lips, and it could be taken as basing the monster off stereotypes of black people. So, that could be a reason General Mills doesn't want such a creature on their cereal boxes
