Yah, I don’t think he’s the goat. Jon Jones, Khabib, Cejudo, Mighty Mouse, gsp, and the list goes on. Khabib destroyed Connor, and just about everyone else. Gsp, and Jon Jones have better legacies . Connor also lost to Diaz, and I don’t see Diaz up there with the best, he’s a stepping stone in my opinion.
@@mr.bidwell9107 yeah for sure, but they way these guys react to the market now days its more about the hype/clout chasers. its still good if you already have some Connor cards, but for me I’m more into the guys you mentioned above. Connor is still a beast though, and after this fight if he wins, it’ll get even bigger, but a lost will probably bring guys back to reality. I’m hoping DP can take this W
If all they did was buy Conor cards they will he fine. Conor isn't the greatest fighter ever but he is great and by far the most popular. His cards will out sell GSP, Silva, Jones, Chuck or Gracie.
@@ericmoore8739 I don’t have any problem with people making money off of Mcgregor, but I think his stuff is too high in price at this point and has been expensive. I think other great fighters that I mention are a better buy. I wouldn’t want to get caught spending at these prices, even my friend that’s a big Mcgregor fan thinks his stuff is over priced. I bought a few Mcgregor cards, and that’s because it was cheap (kinda) at the time. I don’t want to get caught holding the bag, and I’d recommend Khabib, GSP, or Jon Jones. I’m no Mcgregor hater either.
I just picked up TRIPLE C 2017 auto for 9$ he could possible come back and fight Alexander and become the first triple belt champ. Style bender is about to be a double champ, and could be a triple champ when he goes up to fight Jon Jones. Picked up a shevchanko auto, she’s way more like able then nunez and also as dominate as nunez. Street Jesus could also be a good pick up.
they didnt release a 2020 topps chrome UFC because Panini recently bought the rights to UFC cards so hopefully soon we will get some nice UFC panini products. this will JUMP the price of the older stuff tremendously. hopefully sometime in the beginning of 2021 we get some panini UFC.
See I think the opposite. Once Panini comes out I think interest in the Topps chrome cards are going to drop. The hype will move to Panini and all eyes and dollars will move there.
@@jigilous the hype will move there for sure, but the thing is if you have Topps product you’re sitting on a gold mine because there won’t be anymore product available with rookies cards of legends of the sport. Either way it’s still good for the cards.
@@manarod3054 I hope you are right. I have 7 hobby boxes of different years of Topps ufc chrome that are shooting way up in price. Hope I won’t have remorse by holding on to them and waiting for higher profits.
@@crystalwiser5980 I think your pump and dump accusation is absolutely ridiculous. Nevermind that it would completely risk his reputation, Geoff has no need to pump a few cases to try and sell them, he makes so much more money from giving investment advice and what little he would get from a pump on a video pales in comparison to what he makes through all his investments. Also, I think it's absurd to assume he could influence the market to that extent.
@@crystalwiser5980 Like any Commodity, he provides insight based on the Best available information and it's up to the Consumer to due some of their own due diligence and decide for themselves. I don't believe for a minute he would risk his livelihood and reputation to "Pump and Dump". I found his video for ie. 2019-20 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Basketball which is supposed to contain 1 Signature Card Per Blaster very informative (which he didn't have to share). In the video, 40 boxes were going to be opened and he Stopped after 20 because he noticed a trend and for those who didn't notice, he explained. As I seem to recall, there was NOT a Signature card in every box, the few Sig Cards they did get were from Undrafted Players, so worthless, and the majority of the Boxes had a Panini Points card in lieu of a Signature card.
I accidentally found you guys. Great insight for starting. I’ve been around UFC since the VHS UFC 1 days. Very familiars with most all the OG fighters to current. Do you have tutorials on what to look for when collecting like boxes, rares, uncommons, etc. I’m looking to start building my collection 🤟🏼 Just subscribed.
Those old school UFC fights were bananas, some absolute circus fights. We try and breakdown some of the products and parallels in our videos, might be helpful if you’re still in the hobby.
Everybody knows if your a real UFC Fan it's GSP round 1 card that's the card you want in your collection. And if you had to compare the to gsp achieved way more then conor mcgregor ever will let alone have mcgregor sniff a little shot after his last performances lol forgot to mention if it's fan based conor obviously might win that sinarrieo
I don't want to sound like a party pooper or anything but I was thinking this same thing three or four years ago and I bought up a lot of UFC cards and autograph cards and they did not go where I expected them to go. And the ones that I did purchase I verily got my money back out of them as a matter of fact I'm still trying to sell some of them today and only a couple that I purchased was I able to make a profit on. So I'm not very enthusiastic about UFC cards at all. Don't get me wrong I love the cards I think they're beautiful cards and I still enjoyed collecting them because I love the sport I am a huge fan but as an investment I'm not so sure about them.
It’s more the base, refractors, color parallels of rookies and 2017-2019 Chrome of big names instead of autographs. Just like other sports it’s current fighters not the great HOF guys.
UFC careers are way too short ... only a few guys in USC history have had staying power. Unless you invest in Jones/Gracie/Silva etc ... there's no point.
Totally agree. I started investing in UFC cards , but it's more as a hobby as I do box breaks as well , manage to pull some nice cards , however currently the market it's not that great but if I keep holding on them they will soon go up. UFC it's not very known or popular in Europe but its growing , once Europe fan base are close to USA than we will have a different discussion. Anyway good video👏👍
Gonna disagree on this one. Guys fight what 2-3x a year and have very short careers. Best guys are pay per view so kids aren't watching that. 100+ games a year in basketball and baseball and 15 yr+ careers, free to watch. Completely different demographics, I know a lot of MMA guys and they aint collecting cards.
These prices of modern sports cards, come on, ain’t no kids buying anything else either. People were not collecting UFC cards because no one else were not collecting - it’s all about having markets. UFC is rather a new sport, things can change. Maybe even quickly. Check out the social media followers of McGregor! It’s way more than Brady or LaMelo.
@@cesarmontes3969 go buy some ufc cards then. Ive been collecting for 30yrs. Ufc fighters Are not going to get you profit. Too risky. But you will make Gary V and others money for believing UFC cards gonna blow
@@cesarmontes3969 check my channel. Ive got a few card videos. Nothing will compare to Basketball, Football is getting close with Baseball a close third. Not hating but there is too much manipulation in the card game. These guys buy in bulk and then say oh this guy is the one to get so they can dump them out for profits
@@jamstarent21 I can see this happen especially with how limited the supply is. But after a year of mostly buying UFC open I have had almost no cards lose value when resold, and now I got some Jones, Nunes, GSP, Conner, and so many more PC's that are 200-300% up in comps then when I got em. Thankfully I am able to get football/basketball was to resale to buy these cards, but I dont see it too risky since its such a small market still. The vid didnt mention that topps also just lost the UFC contract and Panini will take over. I can see that bumping the market aswell.
My biggest issue is casuals will be looking at the ufc market as the Conor market when many other fighters are fan favorites or all time greats worth buying not just Conor
Another thing we have think about is is that in this day of COVID this is a sport that will get a very limited impact because of the bubbles that they fight in. 2021 is the year of UFC.
I did some breaks of UFC and it is awesome to break! Just wish there was more of an audience, I always tell people in my discord if we have the audience for it we will break it :D
Dude, do you think we come here to hear some newbie tell us how much he likes something because Gary Vee told him to like it? Sheep get slaughtered in all markets. If I want to hear from Gary I'll go to his channel. News Flash I won't be going to Gary's channel
I’m holding sealed hobby boxes of 2017-19 of Topps chrome and the price has for sure exploded. Paid around $150 for the 2017 boxes and they are going for $580 now!
@@jigilous I’ve only been buying singles. Earlier today I was researching sealed product and was surprised how much sealed has gone up. I still think singles haven’t gone up accordingly still though.
Lol the NEW PRIZM BOX! OR SELECT. NO MORE TOPPS BUT IF U BUY GET THE HOBBY STAY AWAY FROM STEIKING SIGNATURES UNLESS U GET A GOOD PRICE AROUND 35-65 BUCKS IN SOME CASES.
Kentavius Caldwell-Pope Crusade and Select Rookies are very clever plays right now. 2013 Wax Case prices are through the roof and this guy is shooting damn near 60% from the three-point range
Have been a long time MMA fan since the mid 90's, and have religiously followed/collected anything that has to do with the sport. That being said, I will be the first to tell you that a fighter's stock will never be as much as a stick & ball player due to the high chances of losses or injury. MMA fighters tend to have more losses, and much like Conor Mcgregor, his stock will eventually fall. If you were to invest in MMA cards, invest in the guys who are already retired or set to be in the HOF. Khabib Nurmagamedov is a better investment than Conor imo.
Fun video to watch buddy was on point but gsp only fought hendricks ones they did not fight twice , crazy fight with gsp thougb the wars were with robbie lawler
I just got into sports cards investing, some of my first cards I got was mma/ufc autos. I think stylebender will be as big as mcgregor! First 3 division champ, he’s international!
@@mynameislarkin that’s cute. You’re clearly not paying attention. Take a look at eBay completed auctions. Not everything about a market is current sealed product, not that I have ever seen it on a store shelf... I haven’t.
I agree but it's not necessarily tied to Connor McGregor. It can be forgiven if you're not a "die hard" fan of MMA. It can be a harsh community to outsiders, I admit, ask SAS from ESPN. But, I do think that MMA is growing year-over-year and that that trend will likely continue. I'm not as concerned about Connor McGregor. There's always a guy or gal like that. All the way back there have been fighters like Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, GSP, Brock Lesnar, Jon Jones, Ronda Rousey, Connor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov. I'm confident that eventually another big star will emerge, and they have always been bigger than the last, probably because the sport is still one of the youngest and has a lot of growth potential. I think you guys should probably not place all your bets on McGregor. Connor, like T. Woodley, has been doing other things and this sport is very unforgiving to "ring rust." I don't expect Connor to rise to the level he reached prior to the Mayweather fight, especially fighting infrequently. He even cited lack of frequent fighting as contributing to his recent loss. But, I think other fighters are on the verge of breaking out into the next stars. Khabib has retired, apparently for good. So, Khabib cards may be a good investment now, since this will mark his likely permanent retiring year. I also think that Kamaru Usman has embarked on a dominant reign that not many fighters in his weight class can threaten. As his title defenses grow, so will his reputation as a "GOAT." He can beat top contenders in his division for now and the foreseeable future. So, he might be a good investment as well. Israel Adesanya is coming off a loss at light heavyweight, but he is very young and can still develop a storied career. People forget that some of the GOAT fighters, like GSP, lost early in their careers. Imagine not believing GSP would amount to GOAT status because he lost to Matt Serra and Matt Hughes, when later in his career he rose above those fighters and all others in his weight class. I believe Adesanya has a potentially similar trajectory. His loss at light heavyweight may have been for the best, because I don't think he can beat Jon Jones today, and it returns him to Middle weight, where he can continue to win against middleweight contenders and build his legacy. There are plenty of other still active fighters who are future hall-of-famers like Amanda Nunes. And there are exciting rising stars like Francis Ngannou. Also plenty of dominant champions that have potential for undefeated title reigns like Valentina Shevchenko and Kamaru Usman.
Conor McGregor...He was on a big loosing strike that end with Khabib...He was waiting for Khabib to retired to get back and took Poirier because he is confident that he can win...Be carefull with this one....
I dont know about all of that but... I DO SEE MOVEMENT ON THE OLDER LATE 95S-2015's!!! Plus it's so much fun opening older cards and pulling some soon to be GREATS OF MY TIME without paying with my left testicle these days for these new overproduced cards. 😏🤫💕
why so many thumb downs? this is one of Sports Card Investor best Video. Connor Mcgregor is the GOAT of UFC his rookie card will be worth $10000 in 2 years time.
I really liked this channel when I 1st found it,as I watched it faithfully I felt worse and worse about my collection, lol. That might make me sound like a whiner, I just wish this channel would have more affordable cards pushed. Sometimes I feel like some cards he's pumping are cards he already invested highly in. I understand he's a business man & making a profit is the priority for him. Please mix up topics for the fans that have 4 kids , mortgage, and very limited budget. Nice job over all, you have done a nice job putting out a good show
There’s still decent value in lower end rookie cards like Chronicles, Panini instant , etc. It’s a just that this is an investment channel and the expensive cards have the best rate of return. Ex. A Luka card I passed on for 350 in February is now with 3500, whereas the card I bought for 80 is now worth 250.
gotta be ufc cards but Definitely not Panini fortnite cards. I mean a black knight card just sold for 5500 raw and psa 10s are selling at 90k in the rare versions lmao. Nobody here should buy any 2019 series 1 panini fortnite..... def not

LMAO the way they over rate mcGregor is INSANE don’t ever compare him to Ali or Tyson again. Conor runs from fights and hasn’t had near the amount those guys had
Only reasons cards explode are pump and dump...even this video and other like it can move the market because it’s such a small market...the hype is so bad right now...
