Hey guys - I am so grateful that Madi came on and spent time opening up. As you can tell she’s a beautiful soul. We had only met over TikTok so I was a little nervous to start chatting without a baseline. I realize that I went in fast trying to see what she knew about me versus I, her. Perhaps that seemed like I wasn’t interested or it may have upset you but that’s honestly my Interview style. It’s growing and I’m learning but Vulnerable is first and for most about making my guests comfortable. I feel them out, and as a person who is a socially awkward empath, this is what you get. I love you for watching, constructive criticism will be honored ❤
Totally relate to the socially awkward empath part. I think the whole exchange was super organic and you two literally just met so it makes sense in context to know how you guys know eachother. It was clear that you were really intentional about emphasising Madi as her own person, seperate from her sisters spotlight. I definitely feel your authenticity and care for all of your guests. Vulnerable really stands out from other podcasts in that way. ❤
Madi is so adorable, and I think your interview was great! 🤗 You talk to the guests like they’re your friends instead of like a stuffy, question-answer interview, which I highly appreciate! Keep up the great work, Christy! ❤
I can tell you that Madi was more comfortable about opening up to YOU because you opened up to her FIRST! You did an excellent job with her and I’ve seen her do a lot of interviews, this was my favorite! Love your positive spirit and charm, and I’m looking forward to hearing more of your podcasts!
That's interesting, because I didn't perceive it that way - everyone has their own perspective and interpretation. I think you're great at connecting with people!
I met Maddie once, at an event my job was hosting for Demi. She was SO KIND and sweet and humble. Had I not been a huge Desperate Housewives fan, I wouldn’t have known she was one of the famous people there. I just really adore Maddie and wish her all of the success and happiness in life!! ❤
No way, Madison is a director now! I feel like people tend to make such a big deal over child stars leaving the spotlight, but it's their choice to leave. No one should force them to keep going, living a regular life can be so more faithful too. 😊
So interesting and cool to hear her perspective on being a female director amongst a male crew and managing that leadership position. It’s something that doesn’t get talked about often enough but it can take real gumption!
I remember crying on set :( I wasn't the director or anything, but been yelled at by my supervisors and directors. Working as a young female in crew is hard, I can definitely agree with her on that. Thank you for the episode, it was amazing :)
It’s so great how this interview was all about Maddie because I have noticed many interviews where their relations to another famous sibling becomes the focus rather than the accomplishments of the person they’re interviewing. Maddie has made a name for herself and continues to thrive 💕
Did she just say we’re not like others because we’re focused on working hard? People that aren’t in the industry don’t work hard? That’s crazy lol, they work harder.
I would LOOOVE a desperate housewives reboot. One of my fav shows from my childhood. Recently rewatched it on Netflix and it was just as good as I remembered.
Madison is so beautiful. I saw her in the housewifes show, i know she is demis little sister, but i never understood how much acting she really did. She is amazing. Thank you for sharing
Desperate Housewives was my CHILDHOOD (weird to say now as it's definitely not a show for kids) my family and I would sit down and tune into the new episode every Sunday night and it was like the one thing we all bonded over. I recently re watched it all as an adult and now I love it even more. So cool to see Madi as an adult thriving
Aweeeee stop she looks like Demi 😍 her and her sisters all have such pretty features! But Maddy is so adorable, smart, well spoken! So amazing to see how well she’s doing.
Interesting convo, with a unique perspective! Esp with her growing up in the industry. I'd love for you to chat with Jessica Steinrock, who's an intimacy coordinator. I'd love to hear how they're protecting minors during kissing scenes (etc.) and hear your take on that side of the filming/ set dynamics.
Maddie isn’t the only one who’s asked for a Desperate Housewives reboot. Eva Longoria spoke with Marc Cherry to try and pitch for it to happen but he shut it down as he feels all the characters storylines were wrapped up well and the way Desperate Housewives was set up could never fly nowadays. After re-watching the series recently on Hulu, it’s the right call to remember it as it was and not re-create.
Omg I loved desperate housewives and watched it so many times through. I had no idea Demi was her sister. Love the idea for a reboot. I'd watch the hell out of it.
Happy 4th from Ireland! We don't celebrate but sending safe celebrations to those who do. I was a huge Maddie fan as a kid, so happy to see this episode! Awesome work CCR 😍
I absolutely love desperate housewives ❤️ I just recently finished the whole series and it was so good! A reboot would be AWESOME!!!! loved madis character in the show and I'm so happy to know she was treated so well by the cast!
It’s on hulu and it’s hilarious! I never watched DH when it came out but randomly clicked on it one day and fell in love lol. My husband likes it too because of me lol
Californians have been “invading” Austin Texas for a while, I lived there 10 years ago as a transplant from Alaska and I remember people complaining about the influx of Californians, likely due to the rising cost of living in CA. But honestly Austin is one of the most accepting areas of Texas. Houston too. Most of my friends in Texas were transplants. My 7th gen Texan ex-mother in law would call me a Yankee though and I thought it was hilarious as Alaska wasn’t even a state when the Mason-Dixon Line was drawn.
What I love about this podcast… it’s more just talking about things that are relatable between the interviewer and interviewee. And we get to listen and learn. It’s interesting and seems like I’m just sitting together with you all just listening and being part of the conversation.
Never watched Desperate Housewives, I saw the thumbnail and was thinking "wow, she looks like Demi Lovato's sister lol." I'm glad she seems to be doing well, definitely has her own identity
Just a bit of constructive criticism as an earphone user (I don't know if its the same with speakers) the sound on this is a bit "wavy" and it's very distracting - I don't know if it's an issue with distance from the mic or maybe where you face the mic but move around a lot when you're talking but it is very inconsistent
But she also said that it could never happen today, which is true. I think people forget a lot of the story lines and jokes about racism, weight, poverty/lower classes. It’s great to rewatch and knowing the difference now, but it would be a completely different show if actually redone.
Anybody else think about JoJo Siwa when she mentioned the little girl’s mom dying her hair blonde? Jojo’s mom dyed her hair platinum blonde from the age of 2!
I’m curious 👀 she knew Demi’s struggles and close they are, since they are sisters and curious if Madison wants sing like her sister, also curious if Madison would go for Desperate Housewives cast reunion
I would LOVE a desperate housewives reboot and yes I agree a reboot with the children grown up etc yes that’s perfect!! Desperate housewives is my fav show, it’s so good!! This needs to happen! 😅😅🙌🏼
