I just received the Sofirn IF30, and I heard everyone say the battery is underpowered and bad. I find the battery to be alright; it can handle the current. So far, my issue is Sofirn does not sell spare 32650 batteries. Do you know a good source to get spare 32650 batteries? For now, I'd rather use 21700 because they're easier to charge and I have plenty of strong ones. I do find a lot of 32650 LiPo batteries, but they're useless to me. Also, an annoyance to me is that all my Xstar bay chargers think the 32650 is full at 3.87v or 4v for some reason Edit My tests are done the 32650 with 30A discharge test overheated and lowered to 20A making battery 60°c ajd getting 5223mah And my samsung 50s 21700 Could handle 30A max temp 48°c 4933mah so they almost test the same why that 32650 gotta be so bulky
The weird batt is the main reason why I didnt even consider the IF30. Went with the Wurkkos TS32 as a big lumens combo light with 3x 21700. That said, surprisingly (or perhaps not) I find the Sofirn C8L much more usable in a way smaller lighter pkg. & I like the rear switch with tactical instant turbo/strobe mode while out on walks
Hi Dylan, when I got this light, I tried to find other 32650 cells but there's only those generic ones on AliExpress... And I don't trust them.. unsure what their maximum discharge rating is. For now, I just use a Molicel P42a which has a 45A rating. Be careful of that stock cell, it is supposedly only rated @6.5A so overloading it may be dangerous.
Beam looks a lot like my Sofirn C8L which is my go to for fast EUC night rides. Good combo of throw & flood. Friend has the Acebeam L35 which is also quite similar to this S21
@@DarrenYeoYT No doubt my C8L nor L35 are edc, for me atleast. But I do use it lots for specific purposes. My edc is TS22 70.3 hi cri but its def more flood than this S21 in a very similar pkg
10 seconds is not the best and I think they could definately push it to 30 seconds. Simple double press with no 'hold'. I wonder if the GL1 steps down after 10 secs too ..
@@DarrenYeoYT Agree, I often think Olight have under powered models in comparison to other companies, for example the Warrior 3S with only 24,000 ish CD but they hold that turbo for 2 mins. Makes me think Olight aren't that interested in having the best spec sheet but having very usable modes across the range.
They have a long warranty period as well, I think it's to prevent LED burnouts, warranty claims etc. on the other hand, some of my Convoy lights runs extremely hot, pushed to the limit but no warranty haha @@Studat
@@AmmoC9Moh nope.. that wouldn't be a good coating... I do have an LED lenser P7R professional model and it has these large rubber numbers for shock resistance, but the actual light is hard anodised
