Small correction- Simon meant to say Julie had worked with chefs from the sister hotel, the Le Bristol in Paris as well as chefs from the Connaught while working at the Lanesborough:)
@@juliehan6036 thank you so much for allowing us to share your journey with us, Julie! We are overwhelmed by the resounding support for the work you do and the person you are. We quite like Simon 😊 nearly as much as we like you 🤭🤭 let’s do this RU-vid thing again sometime ❤️
I can't think of any chefs of Julie's caliber who have the same humility, sense of self-worth, and discipline to go from a high-powered Michelin environment to the much more accessible farmers market, simply for the purpose of bringing high-quality food to people without the crazy price tag. She's so one-of-a-kind - a true gem! Thank you for bringing the spotlight to her 🌟
You hit the nail on the head, here! Thank you for your honest and heartfelt thoughts on the character of Julie, we're really stoked we were able to capture this small chapter in her life. She has so much more to contribute to the Christchurch food scene, let's go!
Hi Julie Thank you for taking the risk and coming to New Zealand, I wish you and your future family every success and may you find joy in everyday. Kiwi's are a strange bunch we trust easy and we invite people into our lives, may you be surrounded by people who mutually add and give to one another's life experiences. It warms my heart when people from other cultures who are so talented they would be welcomed by any country but choose little old New Zealand. He tangata, he tangata, he tangata - It is people, it is people, it is people Kia Kaha - Stay strong I hope to make it to the markets one day and try your products and experience your infectious positivity and spirit.
Such a beautiful message. Thank you! This is powerful, it is true it really is the people. Communities come together stronger when we recognise the importance of humanity. Looking forward to seeing you at the Markets :)
when she said that she loved her job and those moments, I am so jealous. How many people can say that. In my opinon, everyone being the true self doing what they love is a real hero in everyday life, inspiring as a being
One of the best in New Zealand. We are so lucky to have Julie & Simon in Christchurch. Dry hard to find chefs with so much passion for there craft 🙏🙏❤️❤️
I can see her passions :) gosh i cried when she cried. My parents grew up in a poor household. I never had to experience it thanks to my parents but I can empathise.
That was such a good video and story. I hope Julie feels proud of how far she's come in life, and what an amazing woman she is. Her character, her wisdom, her humility. BRAVO chef. You deserved to be heard, and I am so proud of you.
She made me cry with an overflowing heart. Your work - outstanding, your creativity - powerful, yet its your inner beauty that touched me across the waters. May you continue to be a fountain that touch all thst you meet, work with , love and grow into deeper relationships with. This was a moving piece. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind words. This is the reason we create films, so celebrate and recognise all the work and dedication behind those who walk so humbly.
Girl. you hv so much talent!!! Your background in Korea has made you the strong, focused person you are today. Much future success to you and Simon. From a Kiwi living abroad. Kia Ora!
My goodness 💗 I'm amazed at Julie's talents hardworking heartset and her absolute professionalism that she keeps consistently. Thank You for sharing and introducing us to this humble 🤍 woman and her team. 🙏
This was so awesome, Julies passion is infectious, Lucy's enthusiasm is so sweet, and the result is nothing short of edible art. They should both be incredibly proud. Ps, the way Julie's mum is looking at her in that photo is everything; Pictures really can be worth a thousand words.
The image Julie provided us for this documentary was the absolute best way to end this narrative. We’re so lucky to have witnessed a week in the life of such an incredible pastry chef
Mad that I've only just found this channel, this was an exceptionally good video. I gotta cross the Tasman for some of Julie's stuff it looks so good, and her attiitude is unreal. Can't wait to hear more!!
@@odpieces you’ve made my day with this comment, mate! Thank you so much, we do this knowing it’ll hopefully have an impact and the work that goes behind it is marginal compared to the work that happens day in day out from the chefs we feature. Please continue to follow the journey, we’ve got some great content coming :)
@@odpieces thank you very much and hope to see you in the future! And yes storybites team is awesome. They bring so much to the community. So lucky to be a part of their journey:)
@@StoryBites. I'm from Auckland originally, but now reside in Sydney Australia. I had a few cafes in Auckland a few years ago, but sold it to move back to Sydney for business and family reasons. I have relatives in ChCh so maybe one day.
Wow! This was amazing! Everything came together so well, fantastic visuals too. What an awesome story, GO JULIE! Incredible work by everyone involved, well done!
I rarely comment but had to here, Such an amazing video and an amazing woman! Can't believe you dont have more subscribers and views with such professional vidoes. Anyway, you have one more subscriber now!
Yes ! Totally agree with your comments ! I quite enjoyed watching this beautiful documentary of such a beautiful soul who is so humble , truly gifted hands and incredible imagination on how to create delight to the taste buds and to the eyes! At a cost that opens up this world to many of us who can part with some of our earnings to sample delectable delights without us breaking the bank. Her story brought tears to my eyes …. Her love and understanding of her parents LOVE 💕. She went forward in life moving forward NOT as a victim of her circumstances BUT TO BLOOM into all her GLORY to create her LIFE worthy of genuine respect from all around her. It is refreshing to watch this instead of the wokeness we see today parading on our media channels. People can CHANGE their lives , if ONLY they have the right attitude of personal responsibility…. Yeah … it means sacrifices and sheer hard work. You got a new subscriber…. I want to see more people like Julie . Bring us their stories. People are not broken ….shift your mindset. If you think you are broken ….then how can you ever feel strong and grow stronger?
Thank you for sharing your story. You're truly a person with ambition and passion for what you believe in. It touched me when you tried to make your speech and had a "melt down." I felt for you and your feelings. You're truly amazing. May you persevere with your craft. 👏🙂💯
We share these vulnerable moments because we want to hide nothing. I really appreciate you recognising how hard it was for Julie to come back to give this speech. She is an inspiration to so many who have a dream and are willing to seriously step out to make it come true
Yeah, the redemption stories are my very favorite ones, you can bet on it, reborn again from the own ashes, life is beautiful because a tough struggle and brave fighers can find the way out, lucky survivors becoming the best inspiration for all the others🎉❤🎉
That was so beautiful, creative and honest! From my mouth watering with the anticipation of a taste. Then just open in awe of these edible arts . Very hard to hold back tears in this honest look in to a beautiful souls life. Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤
Serving the community a beautiful calling. Keep doing what you’re are doing. There will be days you’ll feel apathetic to it all, but push in even more and this will be the true test to your purpose
Hahaha, honestly the weather in London is better overall than Auckland for example.. it's quite funny that Brits often think of NZ as having better weather
Love love love your encouragement. I agree with you. Lucy has such a way with customers; the key to communication is to create a connection; and that she has done!
