This is my third wipe and i've never done any of the Lighthouse quests because I just cannot be bothered to watch the youtube video on how to cheese peak every rouge.

U can just wait till someone else does it and then do your quests within the rogue camp. Revision - Lighthouse is pretty easy way to unlock m80

On lighthouse quests now and I experienced EVERYTHING you've talked about. Getting my spawn rushed by the seaside cottages, getting blasted thought 20 trees in the mountains, getting spawns where I really don't have a choice but to camp in place for the first few minutes in the raid, headshot the first PMC to come by and they WILL come by because everyone funnels in one direction, etc. If you survive the first 7 minutes, the raid is empty. Long road took me about 15 raids to kill scavs in a place where scavs don't spawn. Overpopulation is going to be more of the same. I just have zero interest in glitch abusing the rogues or Zryachiy for loot I don't want that badly or a questline I don't want at all. The rogues were WAY more fun to fight in woods during that one event a few wipes back. They'd run around and maneuver and it was kinda exciting because you didn't know you were fighting them until you were engaged, and they wouldnt aimbot you and tank damage to the extent the goons would. They're wasted by being a 100% spawn spawn on a terrible map.

I'd really appreciate more variety in the ai especially on wood's and shoreline. The outer areas of the map I would figure would have a few roaming groups of bear and usec. Since terminal is right there and main exit to tarkov, there should be lots of pmcs

About lighthouse - i agree, that map sucks. I found my ways to play it at night, but snow and very sus dudes this wipe are just out of control. BSG should just lower all kill counts for quests to 6-8 PMCs and dump number of PMC on maps like lighthouse, shoreline and reserve to 4-6 or whatever fits naturally without spawnfight bullshit. Okay, lower the loot by 10-20% and add more scavs. Its the only way to fix this without combining maps together

I think an expansion to the top of the map that connects path to shoreline and southern road would not only give way more spawn points but also potentially extend the main road and stay true to the theme of the map.

I agree, if bsg thinks that the rich should hear people from further away and thus get richer because of it because fuck balance, we the poor should be silent up to a small radius

its why im so fervent in my support for the armor hitbox changes @@cozza819 all I ever hear from people used to having 360° of protection with their t6 armor is "I die way more often >:C" as if that isnt the point. BTW if thats anyone reading this, the fix vs players is to stop instantly reacting to gunfire by turning your armpit towards the gunfire and raising your arm with the sprint key as you get yourself killed running for diagonal cover. The fix vs AI is treating the various holes in cover like palets and armpit hight holes in the wall with respect, because AI cares about the hitboxes for their aiming/chance to hit more than anything else

Its nice seeing streamers who arent at kappa within 4 weeks and are even behind me in some quests. Wipes always have such a rushed feeling and i always feel like im behind the curve, but its all in my head lol

Yes, just needed an extract there that can be seen from the main island. Closing the lighthouse was the worst idea, totally killed the south and west sides of the map.

If you've ever played Airsoft, crouching for any length of time CANES your legs and knees. So stamina for that could work. I don't really like the gameplay that evolves from the noise meta which is the "stop when you hear something and rat them out". Because basically it kills decent combat, someone is always getting jumped. But, counter strike has silent walking for example. No one complains about that. I think having you make some noise but it only be audible from close up and that changes based on your weight would be the best middle ground. Maybe once you're high level with stealth movement you can go totally silent or something.

i like sneaking around, i slow walk almost all the time. you should be able to avoid players if you dont want to fight, and quietly manuever an attack. im not saying it should work like Dead Silence in call of duty. you certainly shouldnt be able to hear someone tab into their inventory or turning less than 180 degrees...

I dont like the stealth as is in the game right now, but only because the game is only just now getting out of being all TOO focused on reaction meta. I like the ability for someone to sneak up unheard on someone, but I dont like it as is. That said I dont think it should make noise easily as tarkov exists now either. So for where tarkov is right now I feel its important for balance. It currently being completely silent unfortunately supports that mindset of "it needs to be a trade off, movement for information" which imo no it doesnt. You should know the general area, not the exact area from hearing anything but right now people know EXACTLY where someone is if they make noise. In my opinion you already know generally where they are and the "trade off" to them slowly repositioning without any noise is the amount of time the other person is not nutting up and pushing before that can happen. It takes FOREVER and need to leave cover to do it. It has costs, just ones people aren't capitalizing on because time is slipping through their fingers if they are only just holding an angle. And its always about time at the end of the day, which is why people sprint to cover from cover making significant amount more noise but limiting the amount of time in danger. Which is why I think making the slowest speed still have audio is literally a death sentence to anyone slowly moving across the hallway no one is watching because they rather wait for sound. Theres plenty of floor effects in the game that add the noises that people want. I just feel like we're trying to add ways for people who arent looking to instead hear the problem, which I'd say clear rooms and keep the head on a swivel but we all know that isnt a real fix so personally I think the best fix would be adding more types and map locations that have positional ambient sound effects. Like in interchange theres a coin ride that has the BEST arcade-esq sound effects but only in a like 5m-7m radius in the corner of the map and that would be perfect audio cover and be EXTREMELY fitting aesthetic for the game. Something to cover the sound because as it exists right now people effectively memorized the background sounds to tune them out completely and react to any noise thats out of the ordinary. But we're in the environment, we SHOULD have many sounds out of the ordinary but trying to keep an ear out for the important ones. Something randomized or varied would be great, but truely I'd love static ambient sound areas like a running truck or a whole arcade in interchange that could add sounds to 1-2 store distances for a bit of novelty and audiomasking. Maybe some birds that can sound off near some specific group of tree's on a % chance with noise nearby it, and that can cascade some trees like birds IRL and have a flock all the sudden. They did great with the florescent lighting sound effects and grenades interacting with electronics in a hallway n such, but having more ambient sounds in general before a fight would be great! Just not like the earblasting quality of the plane or reserve alarm hopefully

Streets = no fps, you die to fps lag. Interchange = Rats, you move, you die. Woods = Pray and run to next tree... Customs = Normal Tarkov Experience Labs = Wanna experience cheater asap? Reserve = Extract Campers Shoreline = Spawn next to enemy mini game.

Dude shoreline is terrible for that. I spawned construction the other day and within 30 seconds got jumped by a two man. Killed them both and before I could even start healing I got third partied by a sniper who spawned at weather station 😂 Map is chaos in the first 5 minutes

i spawn there a lot and main shoreline i have never been killed there 1 time learn the spawns learn the pathing just like other maps. reserve is by far way worse spawn mini game .

Lighthouse gets better with reworked geography similar to shoreline and an additional POI or two along the beach that has decent loot.

On the sound - it doesn't need to be the steps - if/when "footsteps are silent" then movement could cause some light rustling of the gear (armour, bags, slung weapons) that could only be heard within say 5 meters.

I go the entire wipe without stepping foot on lighthouse lmao, dont even consider it. I've come to grips with never getting kappa or experiencing end game quests, not like I'm bad at the game or incapable I just think Lighthouse is all around anti fun, spawns, rogues, player scavs its all round just not good

Lighthouse sucks mostly because a large portion of people need to kill players, and the rest need to get north. If you removed all pmc kill tasks from the map you would have a interesting flow of people going to chalets and to water treatment. And once there you would have real pvp combat over the objectives and loot. Right now if you are lucky enough to get past the pmc killers you are usually alone with the scavs. The campers intercepted the people you would have a dynamic fight with. The part about the spawns and player amount is very true. Because there are a million players, bush campers will be rewarded all the time. If there were less pmc on the map the campers would be forced to move around to get the kills.

Lighthouse is my favorite map, but my gripe is the spawns. Like they said if you spawn south you are forced to go north. But people overlook when you spawn west on the beach. I go on lighthouse usually with a bolt action and if i spawn on the beach im out in the open with the entire mountain looking down at me or contesting with others who spawned down there usually with full auto weapons. At least when I spawn south road I can just chill at extract and leave but beach spawn I usually just ditch my stuff in the water or a bush and run for it.

I have done all quests except Lighthouse and Streets ones that are locked behind 1 time keys (and Shooter Born). Lighthouse’s problem, without listening to the show yet, is that it promotes rat behavior. From tasks to map design. I did around 8 raids, died 6 times. All deaths - being sniped from god knows where. Water treatment area is impossible unless you know exactly where to look or abuse mechanics. Obviously, it’s meant to be not a steamroll area. Possibly even promoting teaming up with people to tackle it, learn it. Yet for anyone going in there solo, without excessive guide help, is a nightmare. Will go on to listen to the show now. Appreciate you guys, keep it up.

You can't even learn the rogues offline, if you don't choose "enable bosses" they don't spawn, but if you choose "enable bosses", the 3 wizards spawn in and you get your shit kicked in

Hello, I've never attempted the lighthouse quests because of these reasons. I could do with the first couple for the xp. Do I need to learn the whole fucking routine of killing the rouges to do the camera room, marked vehicles etc?

@@chonkiboii Thanks for the heads up. I have tried to do the scav kills at the houses but 5 times in a row I got there and got shot from someone inside the building. Only once did I make it inside and then of course they heard me from 50 meters away, so as soon as I turned a corner someone was holding an angle silently. Never when back

100000% percent agreed They increased PMC's per map back in the day when people were mad they didnt have guarenteed pvp per raid which only further exacerbated the spawnkilling issues on every map which only made the ratting problem worse, etc etc Lower kills and players per map is beyond reasonable now that they have Arena out and playable

i never really liked the map but now its something else, i cant find any people, everyone is camping mby because of punisher, i cant get anywhere without running in a open areas and getting shot, performance sux, .... its just not a map for people with no patience :D

Lighthouse was my 2nd fav map prior to the updates. I just wish every wipe they completely redid the spawns for all maps. Being able to know where people spawn at all times (especially on LH) its just comes down to who sees what first. Or who has the better long to med ammo.

The only time I enjoyed lighthouse was when they removed the mines on the bridge to lighthouse. It was a high risk high reward and I loved running it with friends, one person overwatching while the rest fill their backpacks with loot. And sometimes scavs or rogues spawned, or even the goons I think? Either it was great fun. Then they added a skeleton of a mechanic with lightkeeper, made it accessible to 0.01% of players who want to grind enough to get on the island or 0.0001% who want to learn the run across the claymores

@@aymnno6734 Yeah the lighting system is broken and terrible. Havent played Interchange yet but ive heard from some people it got worse with BSGs latest "interchange fix". The snow update has made Tarkov the best its ever been. Sometimes the weather is so different from normal tarkov that it seems that the weather kinda 'bugs out" and removes all fog and lighting weirdness. I'm not only able to see the entire map, I'm even able to look through building/resort windows without the inside of the building being a literal black void. Funnily enough, the only reason something like the sunglasses bug matters is because thats the only thing you can see through the terrible Hong Kong levels of Smog that's perpetually in a 50m radius around your character

Church, giga, I couldn't disagree more that it's overpowered. It takes MINUTES to silent crab someone the way you're describing. The audio in the game is actually so overtune that there is no stealth at all. Tthe game literally NEEDS the silent crabwalking to be a feature so that raids don't continue to further devolve into people just sitting around and doing nothing at all for half an hour at a time. We've had the silent crabbing for about 2 wipes now and I don't think i could go back. At least this way is something you can do here. The flipside of these issues is that searching, moving, everything else in the game is so absurdly loud that it masks footsteps. And those guys that are getting crabbed on - they didn't freakin move that whole time. They gave sheef like 4 minutes or something to creep on them. isn't that itself kind of embarassing? There's multiple game design flaws here at play.

Yeah idk why everyone is freaking out about silent crab. Seems balanced to me. I like the idea of having certain surfaces not work(glass, as an example), but a majority of surfaces are able to be silently walked on by anyone even slightly trained if they're moving slow enough.

I don't see what's embarrassing here? It seems counter productive to mock players who are playing passively, minizine their presence, while advocating for stealth gameplay. It just sounds like you want to be the aggressor while also being silent. Which is fine btw. Preferences are just that. But to your other point, yeah I think audio ques are too loud overall and as we said, should be balanced in way that allows for more stealth gameplay. just not completely silent.

@@ScavTalk I just mean that the game has come to a state where once people are in their spots they're so comfortable that they've lost the fear of having to check their corners. That's all I mean is embarrassing, not being able to understand that it's been so long that you might be being stealthed on. I think that's good - it's proof that we need stealth in the game. There should be counters to different playstyles, that's all I think this is. And yes the root of all of this is that you can hear far too much from way too far at the moment.

1:33:45 bsg in their infinite wisdom decided to change decent ammo availability, add more hitboxes, change the armor system and not change then scav armor pool. The result of all this is that a level 1 cannot kill regular scavs with chest shots, you're gonna dump an entire 5.45 mag into the chest of a scav and he won't die, but to add more fuel to the fire, a few wipes ago you had 7.62ps and lps and lvl 1, so if you hit your shots you could kill high level players, right now, these high level players are unkillable for low level players, your bullets will just not do anything to their armor and will just bump off their helmets

You should definitely be able to move silently on lowest crouch speed. The scenarios that you mentioned, camping in a room, AFK and looting through a bag for more than 2 minutes, they should be punishable in some way. It takes ages to get anywhere like that, if you're sat still that long and so oblivious as to give someone that much time to approach it's kind of deserved. If the free information is the problem then this doesn't fix it, because you can still stand still. If anything we should be making running a little quieter to encourage players to move.

the opposite to me its something BSG has wanted and said they wanted since the start, it makes sense, and its easy to look at your guy and figure out scary places to get shot literally by looking just the way someone can look at hte mags to see the ammo instead of inspecting. Also everyone dying are used to the old 360° old armor protection and are instantly reacting to gunfire by turning their armpit towards the gunfire and raising their arm with the sprint key as they get themselves killed running for diagonal cover. Its an easy fix as long as you dont have old 360° armor ingrained into your playstyle (also desync as always makes it severely worse, but that isnt the fault of the armor system just the same way the terribad spawnkill spawns arent an armor problem just because they're dying through armor. The netcode is bad but better, still needs fixing. Spawns have always been bad, I just assume its core to every russian developed game at this point because its a wildly common running theme to have spawnkills on every map for every RUS game.)

Is it even 100% sure that the devs plan is to combine all the maps? Kind of feels like BSG would create "CS2, OW2" situation where half the player base enjoyed the old game but cant play it anymore.

The old CS map Prodigy is a worse map, that's the only one I can come up with that I dislike more. About the spawns, hide the raid timer and make late spawns a feature, that way people won't know if they're early or late and won't risk pushing spawns, running into an ambush.
