I just found your page and cannot express just how refreshing it is to see how makeup can be simple and easy after years of the makeup YT community making it feel so extra and inaccessible. love this!
I love this tip! I finally tried my shimmer glitter eyeshadow with my finger and it turned out gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your awesome tips. Love the look and the colors you chose for this. Thanks Smitha! 🌹
Hey Smitha, A very big thank you for your helpfull content. Today I tried to do this the first time and if I can I would send you a pic. I'm really proud. 🤩Thank you for your help. Now I feel very glamorous and that only with a few simply colors. Greetings from Germany and happy Xmas
Thank you. I have brushes but this seems easier. I did start using the sponge applicators and forgot how well they actually are. Also thank you for sharing Wet n Wild Big Poppa. I can’t believe how much volume this gave my lashes. And I don’t have long full lashes naturally. Always want to see more videos like this🤗
Love the look! Try using the ring finger it has less strength than the rest so it will not stress the tissue around the eye area as much. Love your videos!
OMG AFTER A LONG TIME WITH BUSY SCHEDULE TAKING A TIME TO SEE YOUR VIDEO SERIOUSLY GIVE SATISFACTION FROM KHUSHBOO.....HOPE YOU GET MORE AND MORE SUCCESS IN FUTURE.
I am “older” and just started taking better care of myself. I felt like putting on makeup was really hard, but watching and practicing with you has given me confidence! Thank you so much for the tips and lessons
Lol, been doing this for years.. when I couldn’t afford makeup as a teenager, I used lipstick as eyeshadow and my finger. Sometimes I think all these blending brushes are all just money making. Even when I don’t have the time to do eyeshadow and want a simple look, I use a little blush on my eyes just to have some color. It looks simple and nice.
@Y/N LIZARD You’re right. Although sometimes even MUA artists use their hands to apply primers, moisturizers and serums. It’s easier for them to control and mix the colors with brushes. As you said brushers are for professional looks and fingers for easy going everyday make up specially cream eyeshadow.
@@zoomfadel8170 even for special occasions, I still use my fingers lol - I find it melts into the skin easier (& therefore lasts) compared to caking it on with brushes (which tends to flake off/ smudge over time).
@@TheDirtydee118 no I meant I have brushes but not eyemakeup brushes, I purchased 2 time but didn't get blending brushes , I was scammed now I'm afraid 😢 and out of my pocket 😂
Of all the eye makeup tutorials I've followed through the DECADES, yours is the BEST!!!! I may start wearing eye color everyday to work now! Thank you for the ease and the detailed descriptions. New subbie, here!
I love that you make makeup truly accessible in a way so few beauty gurus do. Other channels will talk about different shades but you really strive to cater to people of all skill levels and budgets. Wish I found you sooner!
I love this technique! I'd love to see more fingertip makeup! I also practice the method with the small sponge brushes and I find that the colours are more pigmented this way! It is difficult to find the PLouise base in Canada. I saw it on one site only but you always have to buy more products to get free shipping. What base could I use for these finger paints? Thanks for sharing!
Just my suggestion and I’m not sure of your skin tone but I use Mac Paint Pot in Painterly every day as my eyeshadow primer. It’s matte and matches my skin tone and cancels out any redness /imperfections on the lid. I’m pretty sure you would be able to find a matte paint pot in your skin tone as well. I’ve used a ton of other primers but I always go back to my beloved paint pot as it works best in my opinion.
I'm still a giant fan of the Wet 'N Wild Photofocus shadow primer, but it's not colored so doesn't cancel out color or hide veins. I've tried a few, that one has been the best for grip and not creasing, and being super long lasting. Plus it's incredibly inexpensive.
@@LizRealGirlBeauty I am currently using Photofocus luminous foundation. One of my favourites for many years. We find this brand here in Quebec City. But for the moment I prefer the luminous one. I have never tried the eye primer! We have 3 MAC shops so I think I'll look into the paint pots.I'm looking for a shade that matches my skin colour because I have very dark circles around my eyes and my skin is wrinkled .... (the result of a long depression). The paler the primer, the more it accentuates the flaws! Thank you for sharing
Can you please do a tutorial with just matte shadows? All the looks you've created look great with glittery shades, but I would love to see a look with just matte colors ❤️
Hi Smitha, I love this look but can I can I use the Sponge and dabbing methods. I suffer from the pink eye so I can't press too much on my eyelid. Marlene, Geneva, Switzerland
Hey ~ yes ma’am, it works with the matte eyeshadows, too. If you find that your fingers make the matte eyeshadow too pigmented, then you could just use a cotton ear swab! That will blend out a matte shadow without making it more pigmented❣️🥰❤️🌹
I've learnt much more from you than any other RU-vidr! Thank you for such brief and simplified lessons. Please do one on colored eyeshadow looks as well.
This is a great way to do a one eyeshadow look too! 🙂 I've used wet n wild single in Nutty, a shimmer with a brown/gray/taupe shift. It always looks like I have at least two shades on my eyelids bc it looks lightest on my lid and slightly darker on my crease and outer corner.
I recently bought the duochrome liquid shadow from elf and sounds like I'll get the same shift as you. It looks pink/pearlescent white and shifts to gold in the crease.
Hi Smitha, love all your eye looks, when are we getting a tour of your makeup collection? I'd like to see your collection and how you organise your makeup.
An absolutely wonderful technique, as always Smitha. I love how you simplify make up without losing any of the finished beauty. Thank you for not complicating your techniques. ❤️ I love you so much.
Smitha, girl... I love, love, love your work. This eyeshadow tutorial looks so beautiful, I'm excited about trying it. Thank you so much for sharing. I am feeling so grateful that you are sharing your talent with us all. Bless you always. 🙏🎶🤗 💕💕💕
That was awesome. It was 🔥🔥🔥 I am definitely going to try this later on this morning. Thanks so sharing this and it is so much easier than trying to blend it with a brush and it is super easy for beginners!!!!
I used to be really good with finger-blending back in middle school, but after college I stopped wearing makeup so a lot of the techniques I had taught myself before have become lackluster when I try to do them now. This tutorial is very helpful and I can’t wait to try it and be good at makeup again
I love this n ur channel as I'm a beauty therapist student but they wont let my so level 3 as I'm a recovering addict n they found out n so I cant do level 3 evern though I done so well n passed I also have autism spectrum and so it's hard for me so I can learn from u xxx
You're a GENIUS, I LOVE this tip!!! I never use brushes because I'm lazy lol, but I still like creating definition with my eyes. This just elevated my no-brushes makeup. Thank you!!!!!💕
Wow wowww dear I requested u before some time k plzzzzz do some eye make up techniques with just fingers n u did it I know ur queen plz do some more videos with just fingers...love u a lot n thxxxxx😍😍
Very nice make up video Smitha! You are so good! God job! Can you please tell me one good make up and powder for very oily skin not expensive? Have a nice day! 👍👏🙂
I wear glasses all the time. I'm 66 but feel 28 most of the time. Is it possible for you to do a few tutorials for people who wear glasses? Thanks and I luv you too!
I can’t wait to try this technique-I have a makeup mirror coming today! I have never worn eyeshadow all my life and now have been obsessed with wanting to-better late than never! I pray this works as I just can’t seem to have any luck with blending with brushes! Your makeup is always so beautiful and I’m so glad I found ur channel 👍😊💕
Your videos make me want to do my makeup all of the time. I've never been able to do a smokey eye and this looks so effortless and really no precision needed. I can't wait to try this look and the one you created with 3 shadows and a concealer brush to stipple (blend) together. Thank you for helping me feel confidant enough to try these techniques!!! ❤
I don't know what I would do without your videos!! Can this be done with mattes? I always was interested in make up but let's say I'm not good at all, maybe I followed the wrong tutorials especially since I have hooded eyes but everything looks bad when I do it. Now that I found your channel I feel more confident to try and do my make up, it seems so much easier and wanted tot thank you so much. Will definitely try this technique today and see, looks beautiful. I can't believe how some MUA OVERCOMPLICATE everything.
UPDATE: i tried it with 2 shimmers and 2 mattes and I LOVE the results wow considering it took me less 3 minutes it looks so blended I couldn't believe my eyes, better than doing it on my own with brushes hahah. I had to blend a bit with a brush the most pigmented matte color but I'm so pleased
Smitha you are a true genius, a life saver and the best teacher in the world! I love how practical you are. Knowing that not everyone has thousands of extra dollars to purchase high price tagged makeup and for explaining why you really don’t need to. I love the way you film your tutorials so that I can legitimately see what you doing. I love your calming voice and how you explain each step, pros and cons, offer different options or ways and remove all the extra confusion and unnecessary steps. I believe you are the one of the best makeup artists in today’s world and feel blessed that you share your gift with all on RU-vid. Thank you, ❤️ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
Love you and your videos! I would like to see more videos like this. This look is so perfect when you only have a few minutes or you just want a simple but beautiful look 😍 Thank You Smitha
Love your channel! Thank you for making makeup so much easier. I’m a middle age woman with hooded eyes and wrinkles showing up daily. I’ve worked in the medical department of Men’s Prison and haven’t worn makeup for 20 years. Now I’m retired and trying to wear makeup is a nightmare for me. The way I used to wear makeup is NOT how it’s worn today. I’ve tried to find a foundation that doesn’t crack on my face and I’ve been trying to do the eye looks with all the blending. Thank you for the shortcuts. I feel like I can at least have my eye makeup look decent now. Still need help on brows and some kind of foundation that will not look like my face is cracking and going to fall off like some kind of horror movie lol
Tried this this morning and WOW. My eyeshadow looks better than it ever has when I use brushes. 😅 Who knew my finger would be the best applicator and blending brush I own? 😆
Nice video! The only thing missing is a zoomed out view of your face so that we can see how the eyeshadow would look like to others as no one will see it by getting so close so how are the blended colours looking from a distance would have been helpful
Thanks for sharing this piece of information on how to blend the different colours of the eyeshadow. I never could get that right. You have taken makeup to the next level.
