On the pinballs on skyline stumble, you don’t have to jump on them to “get you up quicker” just get on them and just sit there and wait and then it will launch you to the finish without having to do it again

At first, when I saw skyline stumble, I asked myself, what is this bs. I couldn't pass the glass that goes left and right. Now its my favourite map because I have perfected it.
I tested whether jump-diving was slower and found that it took about the same time as hopping, maybe it's barely longer but you have greater maneuverability and reaction time when hopping and it's much easier to hop as opposed to jump-diving. (just a note, I tested this on Thin Ice cause I just can't get hex-a-gone)
Yes, but that doesn't mean that's the optimal strat. A lot of people do it because it's easier to get the timing when you spam jump, but the way it works is that there is a cooldown for each phase of the ice, and if you can get the timing just right and stand on the tile until it is JUST about to crack again, then jump, you can actually get a little more time out of it than by spamming jump. And personally, while my timing is far from perfect, I prefer slow-jumping to spam-jumping because I'm less likely to make a fatal mistake and it's easier for me personally to think about my next moves. Also, jump-dives can be used on Thin Ice in a similar fashion to Hex-A-Gone, and when possible (you need two nearby tiles) and executed well, it conserves ice even better than spam-jumping or slow-jumping.
