Thank you for watching and for the kind comment!! The most beautiful island with the kindest people from the moment we landed! The security officer at the airport showed us where to go and then someone else offered to drive our luggage there since we were walking! We couldn’t believe how kind and helpful everyone was!!
Hello!! Aww you’ll love it!! We were there in February! I didn’t see any scooters for rent, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t any!! We used Aloha Taveuni Rentals, Tours, and Transfers!
An island friend sent me this video. My late husband and I made Taveuni our home from 1990-2006. We built Vale Sekoula. Thanks for the wonderful memories. Taveuni is “wanna navu”.
Oh I am so glad you found this video!! Vale Sekoula was such a beautiful paradise and we LOVED the wonderful binder with all the tips and tricks, which I think was from you and your husband 🙂 we wish we would’ve bought it ourselves - but maybe one day 😉 so so fun to have this connection! Thank you so much for commenting!! 💚💚
I loved the island. I did my open water certificate there with Teaveuni Ocean Sports and it was great. I had a privat instructur for three days, he did a great job and it was comparatifly cheap. I also really enjoyed the vater slide. Sadily I couldn't go to the water falls because of too much rain and therefore too much water there. Greetings from Switzerland, Benjamin
Hey guys, I just arrived back from a trip to Taveuni, and I went there because I stumbled across this video a few months back. Thank you so much for making a great video and selling the island to me!
WOW that is so amazing to hear that our video helped you to decide that!! We love making the videos and sharing them, but it’s wild to hear the impact 🫶 thank you for sharing! We talk about moving to Taveuni about once a week so I’m glad to hear you also had a great experience 😊
@@fiji88jk we hope so!! We don’t have plans to be back again in 2022, but we hope to be back again in the future to do more diving and check out more of the islands!
We found that it depends on how full the flight is since it’s such a small plane!! We booked with some friends and after every seat booked the price went up! I’d check google flights for the dates you’re looking at!
Thank You for posting this sweet video on Fiji. I made 2 separate trips there & did some intense diving & underwater photography. One of the rare coral island nations of this planet. Profusion of sea life.

I love snorkelling (from Australia) and my friends said Fiji is good so I'm searching for a the best spot in Fiji for just snorkelling going in a week, and your video is just what i need, beautiful lots of details. Can you just tell me the place you mention as "third island" where you snorkel and kayak.
You can see the three little islands off the coast of Taveuni from the airport actually (north east side of the island)! We used the beach off of our Airbnb to kayak there, but there are nearby beaches you could do the same from! Would highly recommend also checking out the snorkeling tours to the rainbow reef!! Fiji snorkeling was some of the best I’ve ever seen!! You’ll LOVE it!!
There wasn’t!! Our Airbnb host gave us the contact information for a taxi driver that took us around the island 🙂 one day they were not available so the driver coordinated someone else. They were all so kind and helpful!
Hi Jaychel, thanks for the video, I am preparing my flight to Taveuni next week and would like to ask you what is the name of the island you went snorkeling after kayaking? Thanks
So fun!! I don’t think it had a formal name! Someone told us they were called like the three brothers or three islands or something? They are just off the east side not far from the airport
What we found is there are a wide variety of options!! You can find super luxury resorts and fancy tours, or you can go more budget friendly with airbnbs like this (esp when split with friends) that also come with many activities (pool, beach, kayaks, snorkeling)!!
Fiji Airways has been running occasional promotional flights. One is currently running, November 2022. We are doing a cruise in the Yasawa Islands later this month. Our last night we have booked a beach side bungalow less than $100 for the night. Google maps helps you to shop places easily!
@@commonsensecorner7275 I have actually never been through an agency so I wouldn't be able to give a pros/cons to the experience other than doing it ourselves definitely requires a lot of research!
I’m not sure it has a name!! We set off from the beach at our Airbnb (Vale Sekoula). It’s pretty close to the beach closest to the airport (north, northeast ish?
If I am ever to visit Fiji, Taveuni sounds like the island for me. Do you have any suggestions as to how to get there from the US mainland? What is the route that you have to take? Is it a flight to Tahiti first, and then you book at puddle-jumper from Tahiti? Also, in general, how much was the cost of those flights? Thanks in advance...
You can get flights direct to Nadi, Fiji from LAX (which we did) and San Francisco! A good deal for those flights is around $600/700 round trip from those airports! Then Taveuni is an additional flight from Nadi :)
Hello!! In Taveuni we coordinated with the place we stayed to get a van to drive us for the day 😊 the only tour we booked in advance was the dive with www.taveunioceansports.com/ by emailing them. PADI website also shares other dive companies, and there are quite a few scuba diving resorts on the small island. Otherwise we just showed up and paid for Bouma waterfall! Remember cash!!
It doesn’t have a name that I know of!! It’s off of the north east side of Taveuni! You can see it from the airport not far off the coast! They are just very small islands 🙂 have so much fun!!
That is known as Honeymoon Island, not sure if it the official name. I was there in April at Vale Sekoula and we kayaked out to that island. Even though the video footage is outstanding, it pales in comparison to seeing it all in person. And along with the astonishing beauty, the people there treat you like family. I can't wait to go back!
