I hope now the importance of getting Ugarte is clear, Casemiro was vital for the way we played and our win and we can’t be playing him in 50 odd games this season.
Ziirkzee has the potential to play with our profile of wingers (greedy and selfish) his movements and playstyle could honestly get him 20 goals all comp ❤
Yesterday's performance hyped me up. I don't mind seeing the whole season with Dalot and Mazraoui as LB/RB. This is the creativity we have lacked for so many years!! Amad will be essential to us this season. I especially love how deep Bruno can drop when Zirkzee comes on the pitch. Can't wait to see Hojlund and Zirkzee operate on the field together!
@@lancerevo9747 i can see mount getting replaced by one of them. not sure if BF will be taken off to accomodate the other. the one that really worries me is rashford. the system and formation favours him a lot. he will have plenty of chances this year. but if he keeps doing what he does, united will have to think of a solution.
@@delmanpronto9374 ten Hag has played Mount in the 8 in preseason, I expect he'll feature there in some games to help Mainoo rest and recover. Bruno pretty much is undroppable but we shall see. If ten Hag is smart with his rotations, everyone should get good game time.
@@akinyemiakintayo5530 yes genius.... if you want to play hojlund and zirkzee both like the OC contemplates, you'd have to take two AM's off. it was mount and BF in those positions in the last game. funny how things work right LOL were you suggesting increasing it to 12 players instead? then we can all be happy.
mainoo dropped off as well. not fully match fit. still, this would have been a bigger victory had rashford and BF taken their chances. we've already lost the community shield to a rival in a game that united should have won really.
@@gabrielm.lamaswala4571 thats true about Mazaroui and funny too cause he hasn't gotten any international or preseason game time since last season and was used sparingly then too. I was very impressed with him.
I think people are judging the skull line. Mount should’ve scored. Alejandro should’ve scored. Bruno should’ve scored a chance if we would’ve walked away with four goals nobody would’ve said a word we wasn’t clinical but apart from every player look sharp passing with chris recovering the ball was amazing. That was the best Manchester United performance I’ve seen in a while, but I’ve heard channels were people said it was OK. It was a little bit better than last year.😊
Garnacho and Zirkzee were a big upgrade in the second half for their personality and positive decision making this 2 components where a big issue in the first half
Remember many of this player are struggling from match fitness and also if we build on this, we would be in for a fantastic season, the structure is good, players need to sync and also vital is being clinical
The main reason we were incosistent with our pressing from the back was Maguire. Don't get me wrong here I am not slating him, he was excellent for the most part, but with him there, Martinez in the back of his mind will be htinking, I can't always close down and get tight because what if I get it wrong, and fulham players get past me, Harry doesn't have the pace to get back and cover. Harry too will have a similar thought in his mind regarding his own pace. Yes he did great, especially that time when fulham were though 2v1 against him, but there is always the thought he could be vulnerable. Our pressing form the back will inprove a lot when De ligt gets in there. Another thing Maguire holds us back on a bit, is playing out from the back. He is too slow and often sideways when moving the ball allowing the opposition to get back into their defensive shape. Not all on him as players don't always get into space around him to give him options.

Game model will look a lot more cohesive and clear in all phases with De Ligt and Ugarte. MDL allows the defensive line to play much higher and aggressive when needed and Ugarte will be everywhere cleaning up and stopping counters before they happen. Theres a reason why United have been trying to get him all summer...

I didn't watch the pre-season games but watched this one. A lot of positives as you said. Apart from one or two moments, team looked mostly solid but the game was disjointed and open after the 70min mark, players tiring up. Build up was good, much better than last season. Same with creating chances, which I believe will be much better after the international break. Most will be fit and up to speed IF we don't get any more injuries. We do need another holding midfielder, Casemiro's legs will go later in the game when we face turnovers .
I'd be happy if Zirkzee watches old Weghorst footage. Try to replicate Rashfords best season. Weghorst would drop deep, pulling opposition defenders out of position. Zirkzee however will have the pace to get back in the box when needed too.
this is more of a game specific thing, but i dunno why we played with dalot high, then played down the left so much. Means when we turned the ball over, adama was left 1v1 with licha, not a good matchup.
Dalot isn't a natural LB. He inverts into the midfield, and as a result even Rashy got compromised. ten Hag made a mistake by playing Mazraoui at RB instead of LB (not complaining though, what a debut by the man!!!!), he is much more comfortable there. But again, this was only an introduction to the PL, expect him to be our LB till Shaw returns.
I want a full game of amad garna and zirkzee. Feel like amad couldnt really shine yesterday because we missed a striker like zirkzee and he instead had mount next to him
Zirkzee is a sure starter and will be indispensable in the team, just like Mainoo this guy is a generational talent. His touches are too silky and smooth. He is certain to be among the best in the world at the end of this season barring injuries.
Maguire was amazing and he actually is perfect for a high press, he’s dominant and aggressive which is perfect. Don’t be fooled into thinking that because he’s slow he can’t play high or in a press, that’s just awful analysis.
Maguire was very good in the highline yesterday. He isn't fast, but during the counterpress he was an absolute machine yesterday, even throughout last season imo. He can physically dominate everyone in the attack, won duels for fun yesterday, and his ball playing ability is quite underrated. His only downside is that he will find himself in 1v2, 1v3 situations like that of yesterday more often than the others, and that is how we lost the fulham game at home last season.
The problem is him and Martinez are both aggressive and want to press high, but neither has the pace to cover well. I think they'd both look better in the press with Yoro or De Ligt and yes, De Ligt can cover. He's not lightning fast, but he's quick enough and reads the game really well.
@@Quazzi maguire is a former CM without formal as a defender he wasn't as calculating as varane but ten hag seems to have fixed maguire's has funneled more carefully with purpose
In this formation and with these players, I think it would be better to switch Rashford and Fernandes and let Rashford be the false nine. Then Fernandes can use his passing and shooting from the left instead of having to run into the box for close range finishing.
Understandable that those who had internationals are not match sharp work so little preseason training. Conversely, concerning that Rashford is so blunt when he had a full pre-season.
@@Sparkletoyworld yes. He just need to get in a few goals and when poeple believe in him again he will deliver. He carries a burden on him with makes everything more heavy
I think he came good by the end of the game. His pressing game was good too, but too bad that Dalot played like an inverted fullback rather than staying on the wing, which compromised Rashy a lot. Putting Shaw or Mazraoui there would be more ideal for him.
@@lmaomoofeq with Shaw and Amass you make the opponent track our fullback wide., which will help Rashford with space to play with also a pass inside as Bruno comes to receive the ball., But all he needs is a good run of games scoring or assisting in a few., and United need to come out of next five games without losing more than 2., really tricky at the start for us with injuries and less training.,
We cant progress the ball in the middle that is the biggest problem lower teams will use our FA cup final tactics on us and we will not have any solution for that
Hosjlund has to go. Why? The other cool players think he’s a nerd. A geek. They don’t like his goofy personality. Thus, they don’t want to play with him. Zirkz is different. He’s likeable among the lads. Wegs was also a nerd. He was ousted.
Yoro will be the most ideal if you look into profile only. Fast, agile, and some really long legs. He is still a prospect though, so expect de Ligt/Maguire (almost the same type of players, de Ligt is significantly faster though) to play more with Licha.
@@lmaomoofeq I think De Ligt is almost half way between Maguire and Yoro; not as physical as Maguire or as quick as Yoro, but good enough at both to play with any of our other CBs.
The defense cudnt keep d structure becos of maguire buh u not pointing that out cos hes british ehn,he had a good game alrit buh going forward n playing d ten hag system just lik u described it maguire should b on d bench ALWAYS 😊
