I've heard mixed reviews on this, there is examples of the watch not being as advertised i.e. with a mineral instead of sapphire crystal! There are also listings mentioning a NH35 even when it contains this DG movement! Not sure about this company, it looks good value but you can't be sure if the company appears to be misleading it's customers 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah indeed this was supposed to be an “NH35”. Not sure if a high beat DG is actually an inferior thing in this case, especially given there are apparent NH35 clones out there being used.
I have the hulk Pagani. My only wish for it...to be smaller. Rarely get to wear it, I feel pompous with it. It's so well made, though. Eyes closed, what would a watch snob think it costs?
My Lige 6801 "Smurf" arrived earlier this morning. Initial thoughts. Looks beautiful. Sunburst dial is very classy. Fully operational. Cyclops is correctly aligned. A ridiculous amount of watch for £20. Pretty much the same quality (IMO)/looks almost identical to my Steeldive SD1953 for 30% of the price. In comparison to the Steeldive. Hardlex not Sapphire (Assumed. Not tested). 90 click vs 120 click bezel. Bezel action is lighter but has zero back play. Butterfly clasp bracelet vs double pusher with safety. 28,800 bph vs 21,600. Exhibition case back vs solid. 100m water resistance vs 300m (theoretical in both cases, I suspect..). Lumed pip rather than complete bezel. Not sure if I like the Butterfly Clasp. It works OK but is a bit more fiddly to put on. I shall persevere for now but have a replacement bracelet if needed. 3 links removed from bracelet for a perfect fit. Crown action is smooth. Bit wary of over winding this 'el cheapo' Chinese movement. Only one odd QC issue - and it's manufacturing, rather than assembly. Bezel either aligns perfectly at 12 but not at 3, 6 & 9 or vice versa. I'll use 12. Less obvious to my OCD.. Tiny bit of lateral movement can be felt in bezel but not seen. So, my £20 watch experiment is underway. I'm thinking of starting a sweepstake on how long it will be before the movement implodes... 😁 Timegrapher shows +12s/day and Zero Beat Rate Error. I can live with that but may use this as a testbed for home regulation. Overall: Well worth the money. Time will tell (no pun) regarding longevity
Thanks for sharing that "review"! $20 is a corker for this, and it is definitely far superior to a TEVISE. The bezel alignment issue you describe is by no means limited to this watch.. it is a notable problem in the majority of dive watches I've handled, up to and including Omegas. Take a closer look the next time you handle and expensive Swiss dive watch.
Got one for $22 including tax and shipping from ali x. Actually keeps good time and stays running overnight and then some. Has a butterfly clasp bracelet. For this price it would be unrealistic to expect a true Seiko movement from Japan or real sapphire glass, though mine hasn't scratched yet after surviving some bumps into things so perhaps it is? Anyways even if the watch only lasts the 2 years as its warranty suggests that is still a much more affordable timepiece than basically any alternative.
This is the second Lige review I've seen in as many days, the other really warned against purchasing.... strange as both are trusted sources....⌚🏴⌚🏴
I think the movement difference may be of concern to some... for me a high-beat DG movement is a worthy alternative to the NH35, hence not a big gripe to me. But yes, they gave the "wrong" movement. The other issue was whether the glass is sapphire, and mine happens to be so. Some have shown theirs isn't... fair warning to all!
@@PerthWAtch it's a shame, off the bat it's a nice looking watch, the DG is of interest as I have no experience with it....just concerned about the trust issue....that can be said for any online watch purchase....maybe see how they progress....⌚🏴⌚🏴
I think probably more than 2 versions judging on what I’ve seen... there are at least two different movements, and seems like there are ones without sapphire also.
They were claiming that this had an NH35. Funny thing is the other guy who reviewed this. Contacted them and asked is this watch a prototype and they just told him to MAKE VIDEOP . He tryed to ask them about crystal and they said just MAKE VIDEO.
I had a funny experience with another brand whose watch arrived DOA (didn’t run at all). They told me to MAKE VIDEO. So I did... posted it publicly here. They got upset at me for doing that. Go figure! 😂😂😂
Thanks for the review, I just saw this watch for sale a few days ago and was wondering if it was any good, seems like a pretty good watch to me except for the bracelet but I like to replace the metal ones for a good silicone band personally for myself because they are much more comfortable to wear but I think I will purchase this in the future especially for that 28,800 movement alone. Cheers, Ken
@@PerthWAtch Oh, his comment was below a few His icon is a pink dot with a large A where mine is Odie, my dog. No one wants tto see ME there I used to have my pix but saw lots of peoples dogs...
I think it's star kings proprietary movement which is just a modified dg2813 to give it 25 jewels and a 4hz beat rate.I'm gonna get a blue one and clean and oil the movements and fix any qc issues i think it would be a nice piece after that
for 52gbp it's a good value watch. i have the two tone bluesey, but yes the bracelet has QC issues definitely. but I'm still satisfied somewhat. its extremely comfortable on wrist and looks very good. just wish it has real sapphire and the QC issues were improved
Personally, I think the Steeldive SD1953 is the better watch in this price range, since it is rated to 300m WR and the NH35A is way more reliable with a longer power reserve. 28,800 is overrated compared to longevity and accuracy. If this watch had the PT5000 instead of some unspecified caliber, that would change my mind. If water resistance is not important but 28,800 is, get a Tandorio with a PT5000.
I own the Quartz and Automatic versions of this brand and model. It feels so much like a premium watch and looks terrific! I honestly believe that one parent company manufactures several different brands of this watch. But who cares,...it it a great watch.
It might make sense that there might be one parent company but the substantial differences fit, finish & quality implies that there are several separate companies in the market.
Question please: I purchased this for around 35 USD, but it arrived with a dead movement. Don't trust the return process at all, and it's a pain in the butt. So I had the idea of buying a replacement movement. But which should I go for - which would fit the case? DG? NH35? I'd be grateful if anyone can help! Btw, great review, already subscribed 🧡
Just wanted to get back to you since I figured you'd be curious. I responded weeks ago with the accuracy of a new Orient Ray II keeping crazy accurate time. It still is accurate but is now running roughly 4-5 seconds fast daily which I'm more than happy with. I compare this to an atomic time. I'm sure it will continue to loosen or tighten up as it wears in ---but I absolutely love this watch. I like my Citizen Promaster better in regards to keeping accurate time. It's crazy accurate...maybe drifting 1 second fact after almost a year. stupid accurate. ., but I like the look of my Orient Ray II.
Nice one, although in my book, the Loreo still has the edge. You already know that I'm on a quest for the perfect Submariner homage, and so far, I feel the the Loreo plus doing minor mods is approaching the sweet spot. My reasons why I feel that this one is not as compelling than the Loreo are: 1) The case is the old Rolex design, and not the newer one with slimmer lugs, just like the 2020 Rolexes. Is my personal preference, but I do like the new one better 2) The quality of the bracelet looks questionable. Loreo's bracelet, although push pins and regular clasp is rock solid. The fittings on the end links also look a bit loose. 3) The Loreo's bezel doesn't even have a pip, but the bezel is 90 clicks and much more reliable and aligned. This one has a pip, but doesn't work? weird 4) I heard higher beat rate calibers are not necessarily more precise, but if they are not very high quality, they tend to wear out faster. Please correct me if I'm wrong. My Loreo's 21,600 Seagull is running very precisely, and it has been for several weeks. 5) I also heard reports of some getting mineral crystal instead of sapphire, so all in all, the watch quality is questionable from all fronts. BTW, my review of the Loreo is up in my channel, and I invite you to take a look at it (hope you like it). And the hands and bezel are in the way. I also purchased an Oyster bracelet on Aliexpress, although that might take a while to arrive. So I'm keeping my promise of documenting the mod process, and the final cost of everything, so we can compare with the offerings currently in the market. Wish me luck!
Thanks for sharing those detailed insights... sounds like you have put a lot of thought into it. No I did not know that you're on a quest for the perfect Submariner homage - have you considered Ginault? Regarding movement speed... if all things are equal, then a higher beat does generally confer greater accuracy. That can of course be a rather big "if". They gave a different (not necessarily inferior) movement to what was advertised, and yes others have reported mineral glass instead of sapphire, so I agree that the supply is questionable. Good luck with your quest! :)
I got one. It came with a butterfly clasp and I replaced it with a better bracelet from ebay. It is a greatly functional, yet comfortable watch. I did have one guy ask me if Im wearing a rolex.
Wowww...a poor man's homage to Pagani design. This watch makes Pagani & Parnis looking really good, ha ha thanks for the review, Ivan. if possible, can you do something more.... substantial and controversial or innovative? thanks and have a wonderful Saturday Night!!! in Perth!
Didn’t realise they’d been in business since 1856 😆😂😆🧐 never seen this before so something same same but different but too many fails to make it something you’d want to buy. Cheers Ivan.
Have a Pagani, a Loreo (best of these imo) a Parnis and also a Corgeut which is very similar to the actual specs of this watch - DG movement, mineral glass, but that's fine as I paid US$35 for it and it was sold as what it is. According to other reviewers LIGE are overselling the low spec watches as the high spec versions and assuming people won't check. Would like to see a follow-up of you taking a closer look at the specs as sold and testing stuff like the crystal!
I did test the crystal and it is indeed sapphire - I guess they may have sent me a “good” one knowing it would be reviewed. Not sure how to test the ceramic, I would if I could.
Not bad at $75 for a daily outdoor work watch, if you want the look of the Submariner. At three times the cost, the San Martin is probably a better long term value. The fit and finish and customer support make their watches a better value for me.
Hi, I was annoyed that the arm had an opening of mm during my diving in the Quarts League, I thought it was a manufacturing error, when I watched the video, I was relieved to see that it was also in this model... Teşekkürler
I have the cheaper Lige submariner Hulk homage with quartz movement. Cost me 26,46 euros shipped. Been using it for about six months now, works fine. I like that it doesn't say "design lige watch" on the face, it just says LIGE. Chinese watches have some pretty akward names but Lige reminds me of the Belgian city Liège, it has a somewhat more european feel to it.
Oh yeah and don’t get me started about their English language marketing… it’s often vacillating between unintelligible to downright hilarious! As for names, well so far FEICE takes the cake for me!
Thanks Ivan for a thorough & well done review! However, I agree with others that have essentially said that as of right now, Pagani has set the bar for cheap Chinese homage watches that are both well made, and have decent specs, and this falls short. For now, I'd much rather have the reliable, accurate, well made NH35a mvmt in these low price homages than a lesser brand hi-beat mvmt.
@@PerthWAtch I really wish that they didn't differentiate. I have a Pagani PD-1639 but not one with an NH35A movement because they seem to be backordered. While I find the Miyota 8215 to be kinda crude compared to the Seiko NH35A, I know that I'll get decades of worry-free service from it. My Invicta Grand Diver is 9 years old and that NH35A is still going strong. My LIGE-6801 however, the movement is 28800 and I love that about it but the date stopped working after only advancing twice. That should never happen to a watch.
First thoughts was that it looked really a whole lot like Pagani Design. With all the negative press on it, it's a shame had it actually been legit. I also have to say I am digging your collection of Transformers in the cabinet there! Masterpiece scale?
Hiya again. We live in a world now where " cheap" watches only go to prove how overinflated big giants take their cash.Sure there are going to be quality issues but for the average bloke these are fine? Sometimes if something costs a lot you assume its the best .In reality not always so.Cheers.
It’s a shame they need to advertise falsely, look at the ligewatch.com site. Seiko movement NO, sapphire crystal NO (proven on another review with a LIGE supplied piece) 120 click bezel NO 41mm NO..... it would be great if reviewers would pressure test the freebies to prove claims....
Agreed about the movement and bezel... I was surprised mine had sapphire though. I don’t know anyone who has a pressure tester or I might do that. Call it whatever you want - these aren’t “freebies” ;)
To be fair I think it's probably exactly the same watch as the pd 1639 with a lesser movement (can't beat the NH35) and a slightly worse name, at least I'd say Pagani design sounds better to most people!
For what these Pagani/Chinese homage watches cost... I’d rather spend my money on a pro diver automatic Invicta submariner homage which still ends up costing cheaper from Amazon!
I thought there was some tool to check the material of the watch case; in my watch I discovered it by pure chance when I changed the strap I scratched the bottom of the watch and the bronze color came out; if it is therefore difficult to evaluate for certain the material of the case or there are no instruments; thanks anyway it was only a suggestion to improve the quality of the reviews
Maybe the best thing about this watch is the spinnabillity of the box,,, lol,,, I can't stand homage watches any more, (even though my Invicta Sub, is good for +2.5s per day),, I just couldn't live with a watch that's +14s .... It would drive me crazy, !! (my Invicta, hasn't been out of the winder, since I got my (real) Seamaster, just over 2 months ago,,, ),, But maybe, a nice Pelagos clone, might change my mind back again,,, ha ha..
Initially the spec sounds incredible, but in reality it has it's flaws. However, value for money wise, it's pretty amazing. That movement could be regulated in five minutes, and DG movements are better than the price indicates. To be honest though, I would pay a little extra and buy a Pagani. Just wish the Chinese would stop giving us viruses, and stick to cheap watches !
It really is Amazing how much you can get for such little money. Hi beat, saphire crystal, 316L steel. They could really compete with Swiss made watches if they wanted. They could make such a high quality watch for $3k or $4k that would probably would put alot of $10k Swiss watches to shame. But they are making to much money selling millions and millions of cheao affordable watches.
It's a con job by Lige the movement is 3hz 21600vph not 4hz 28800vph and the crystal is not sapphire, the whole description of the watch by lige is a fantasy, and good luck trying to get a reply from lige when you find out you have been ripped off. It's not your fault but you need to be a bit more suspicious of a description that sounds too good to be true.
It’s true that they have put out variations on this William, but all my specs are checked - the movement is 4Hz, you can easily check that with a timing app, and you can confirm it is sapphire by using a hardness tester. Cheers ;)
@@PerthWAtch you have received the watch as described but I know of a few people who have not received the advertised watch and the movement is an nh35 clone it's still not a bad watch it's just the sneaking feeling of being played and maybe receiving old stock. Thanks for your response to my post and keep up the good reviews.
"My Adorable watch collection" channel . Recently do a review on this watch and found they straight up lie about the spec's... The Movement isn't NH35, The crystal is not sapphire, and the case is not 316l stainless.
How did he test the steel? I wouldn’t know where to start with that. The movement is a strange thing to misrepresent since it’s bleeding obvious it’s not an NH35 (although I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s inferior).
Hi, I did get this watch for review, I tested the crystal and it wasn't sapphire, the movement was listed as a Seiko nh35 and it obviously isn't. The bezel is listed as 120 clicks, when in reality it is a 60 clicks bezel. I never said anything about the stainless steel case though.
Yeah agreed about the movement and the bezel. The AliExpress listing they gave me actually said Hardlex but the Amazon one said sapphire. I was surprised mine had the latter.
Definitely NOT "astounding". Way too any QC issues and vague information about what you are getting. Looks a lot like a Pagani Design, but that brand does this much better... and even they have plenty of QC issues.
Can you please give me information on the duration of the watch's power reserve? if worn all day it keeps charging all night and in the morning it is still in operation
@@PerthWAtch not yet but a lot of people have been asking for it.looks exactly like a pagani which is the best thing smoking for the money rn but it costs less and has a high beat movement. Your gonna get a lot of views on this one
Hey Ivan thanks for the review...with respect to this watch vs the Pagani Design Hulk I have. The Pagani bracelet has fallen apart at least three times making me think I need to use thread locker on the screws. Regarding the glide lock...I have yet to get it to open properly...stiff as hell. The bezel has a serious amount of backplay and bounce. Lume well forget about it. So can this be any better/worse? Pagani, in the cheap watch enthusiast segment, inspite of what Jody says, isn't the best value for money by far....IMHO. Admittedly they cram alot into a cheap package...which won't fall apart if you don't wear it I guess. Then what's the point right? Take care and thanks again.
I agree with your comments actually... my Pagani definitely had plenty of issues! Hahaha “won’t fall apart if you don’t wear it”! That’s awesome... I’m gonna have to incorporate that line in future :)
This is a beautiful watch and I do love the high-beat movement but after only two days a serious problem occurred. I ordered the Smurf version and it's beautiful in all of its blue glory. I wound the watch, set the date (February 15th) and did little else with it. Unbeknownst to me, the date stopped advancing when it reached 17. The quick date set works but it doesn't react at all to the hands passing the 12 o'clock position twice. I spun the hands on that dial over and over trying to get it to advance to 22 from 21 but... nothing. Without reacting to the hands passing midnight, the date won't automatically advance which defeats the purpose of having the date complication in the first place. I realise that YMMV but I just wanted to let people know one of the things that can go wrong with this watch. It's really a shame too because this is such a beauty of a watch. I'll be sticking with Pagani from now on. Sure, they're out of NH35A-powered PD-1639s but I know that the Miyota 8125 in my PD-1639 will give me worry-free service for years. The Lige movement is clearly substandard (or at least their QC is). I got the watch for a really good price, $50CAD. However, it's not a good price if one of the watch's main function fails completely after less than two days. My Invicta #3049 Grand Diver is almost nine years old and that Seiko NH35A movement has had ZERO issues and probably never will. I wonder if I can swap a Seiko or Miyota movement into this watch. It's the correct dial diameter and date placement so maybe...
Sorry to hear that you've had a rather bad experience with the date function on the movement... is the movement otherwise working fine? And yes, I'm pretty sure you would be able to swap in a Seiko or Miyota movement if you wanted to do that.
@@PerthWAtch Yes, the movement is otherwise fine. I really love the watch otherwise. The 28800bph smoothness, the amazing lume performance, the blue colour itself and the indices all make this watch amazing. Maybe I should just take it to a watchmaker and see if something simple just came apart. They did fix the lume, it's all-green now, is so bright that I can see it during the day and it lasts all night. I have woken up with the lume still pretty bright literally hours later. Thanks for your reply mate. You're pure class! :)
Unfortunately a brand that can't be trusted it seems,by all means you may have received a legitimately "listed spec" example but that's probably due to the fact their deceit was blatantly revealed, personally wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole. but yet another submariner homage offering..yaaaawn. Love & respect to the channel Ivan but Lige are definitely a herring amongst the others.
Everybody can have their own opinion, but for me a NH35 is nothing special. So if actually this highbeat movement works accurate, its simply AMAZING. I want to have a accurate movement, fine sweaping. If hommage then like a genuine. And they are highbeat. Thats my own opinion. Others may think different.
@@PerthWAtch Im not a big fan of Seiko NH35 movement. Some are accurate but often theyre not. For this price, to get a highbeat movement, so accurate thats special. chinese art of making movements is not appreciated enough.
Like said before Lige is fooling their customers by saying theres sapphire glass and a seiko movment, but there isnt... 75 Dollars for sapphire is not really realistic too... u can expect sapphire coating.
@@PerthWAtch for actual sapphire i had to pay always minimum 100 euros, idk how many dollars 100 euros are exactly i think around 120, so in my opinion 75 dollars are to good to be true
@@PerthWAtch I'd love to get one. Torn between green n blue. I got several black ones. Allibaba usually takes me 3 weeks or more and I've seen invictas n others with different movements, they kinda scare me. Amazon has one for $89-free shipping. NEXT DAY delivery! I feel better paying the extra $15 for next day and a solid 30 day Amazon warranty and 2 years manufacturer warranty. I really like this one.
@@PerthWAtch yea cause measuring, buying and installing would cost as much, likely more even without problems. I bet it's nice, I could sell a few of my collection that I never wear. Cheers.
Personally I would never buy a Lige watch in the middle /upper budget range. They are known for not fulfill the spec's in the advertising! Buying a low budget Lige just for fun or as a mod sacrificial is okay.
You have to take everything Lige say with a large pinch of salt. I bought one of their dress watches which was described as having a Swiss movement but then showing a picture of a Seiko NH35. I still don't know what the movement is but the second hand action on the watch is very smooth which suggests it's a high beat movement and the watch is remarkably accurate, just a second or two a day fast. They've changed the brand name to Lige Design .. I wonder where they got that idea from? I was looking at that Subby homage but there was too much suspicion about the suspect description, it's clearly not Swiss and it's clearly not an NH35 so I'll pass on that one even though the dress watch seems absolutely fine and worth the £50 ($65 US) I paid for it. I did message them about the false description of their watches and the answer I got back was 'Are we wrong?'!!!
Yeah no doubt a lot of suspect dealings with Lige based on all the comments coming through. Easy to find out the beat rate if you wish using a timing app.
My Affordable Watch Collection channel tests the crystal and it is NOT Sapphire. Also the movement is NOT what they advertise. It's a shame because they are one of the few Homages that gets the blue colored dial correct and doesn't have purple tint. Also he points out the bezel is 60 clicks. Yuck. WTF can't the others do the dial color right? I mean they're only producing millions of these things. Both Pagani and Loreo get the dial color wrong. Geez...
A very good review but.....2024 the becel is not line in correctly, no Seiko NH 35 clockwork, no sapphire glas, 60 click becel only, a very cheap bracelet not a screwed one, many things on the product offer is therefore a real fake! If you'll get one under 30 €/50 AUD it is maybe a good deal! Best of all is the 28.000Bph DG clockwork under 2 s/d, really exactly working and the shining dial. For about 60€ you will get a better Pagani Hulk! A shame to lige!
Let's face it, this watch is crap. It's an accumulation of QC issues, even at this price point. There are brands like Pagani Design offering better quality at or around the same price.
One again a unreliable watch brand. It is all about the looks and not about quality. Starting with an unreliable, unknown clone movement, working not so great new, but in 5 years? The clasp looks ok, but is not. It is cheap, but is is worth buying?
I like your channel from Perth. I would like to buy chinese watches. But if I would order I would loose money and time (10 h) on customs bureau. Nevetheless thank you for great presentation.

Actually one of the main connotations of click bait IS being misleading. If you’re referring to the thumbnail text here however, everything there is true!
Can't say I was blown away with this one to be honest mate. But as always each to their own. Looks an ok purchase if what you want is a cheap Rolex Submariner clone I guess. As always good review
Fair enough mate... I was at first annoyed that the movement clearly wasn’t the NH35 they said it was supposed to be, but then surprised it was a high beat movement!

Interesting but potentially stupid way to do things - this could raise a whole lot of headache. Many product listings on AliExpress stipulate sapphire and NH35 for example, and it wouldn’t be difficult for customers to find out it’s not (if that’s the case) and raise complaint and demand refunds.
Don’t buy this tat the company are con artists the way they sell on AliExpress & AliExpress no about it & let them get away with it so don’t buy these watches
Interesting... well it seems just a phonetic name without specific meaning. Not sure if you noticed but I’m Chinese, and I would’ve said it if I saw it beforehand ;)
