Maki is sharing her experience of traveling to Ghana for 2 months as a volunteer for one Czech organization. Disclaimer: Maki's opinions are her own personal opinions and they don't reflect the opinions of the organization she's volunteering for. This interview is about her personal opinions and experiences sharing her travel and the video by any means doesn't represent the organization and its beliefs. Maki is a guest in this interview as an individual, not as a representative of the organization.
We actually shoot this interview some time ago so now Maki actually really moved there as she planned to.
Maki is talking in this episode about preparation for her travel, and what vaccine is required for entering the country, she's also mentioning some typical cuisine for Ghana and she was also able to share a real "behind the scene" video with us of how a typical dish is made. It takes a really lot of effort to make it!
It's really interesting to hear about traditions and customs from her and about her travels around Accra which included a lighthouse in Jamestown, Aburi Garden, the first Ghanaian Cocoa Farm, and Maki also visited the local Zoo, and of course, a couple of beaches.
This is just the first part of our interview and 2nd half is coming out 2 weeks later, so if you're interested in hearing more about Ghana, press the Subscribe button and click the bell, so you get the notification when an interview is up and don't miss it. :)
Have you visited Ghana by yourself or are you planning to? Let me know in the comments! :)

I just moved back to Ghana 🇬🇭 after I lived in Brooklyn NYC for almost all my life about 28yrs They called me Obroni too when I first got here just cause I spoke English like a foreigner even though I spoke the local dialect perfectly well the moment I started speaking English they see me as foreign so hence the Obroni name not specifically for supremacy but to show love ❤️ 😊this is almost how we treat every foreigner very polite the poorest Ghanaian will invited you to eat with him if you encounter him eating no matter how small it is also you can’t hand anything to ppl with your left hand it’s disrespectful its a very different culture then other African countries cause we even call ourselves Royals Every Ghanaian is a royal that’s how we call each other in the Akan language so remember politeness is the key when you visit We say Akwaba( Welcome Home) to anyone who enters the Gates of Ghana 🇬🇭 cause that’s literally how we feel so I will sign off here saying Akwaba to you and Ghana will see you soon❤️🙏

@@deejay5102 The good part is that everything sold in a Ghanaian market is open for bargain so no matter how foreign u may sound, as long as you know you can bargain, u just start bargaining from any amount quoted and make sure u try to slash the quoted amount in half to commence your bargain. For the police part, we don't have such experience to share as a foreigner cos we are locals.

However, l want to educate you on one thing, we don't treat foreigners good because we see them to be better human beings than us but because we have a rich hospitality for all mankind. When someone visits you, we believe that person can be from the past(ancestors), the present(relative) or the future (messenger). It doesn’t matter the colour of your skin. African Americans who are our brothers and sister are equally treated nicely. We understand the value of fortitude love peace and leaving in harmony with all people, tribes and nature. Ghana is a true democracy. A country where the political leaders aren't trouble to the people. It is an asset for the whole Africa. This is why the European Union shouldn't come to tell us that the the 60-year-old dynastic tyranny at East of Ghana, is the chief negotiator for countries of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific in the framework of her cooperation with all these millions and millions souls. Ghana would have been the appropriate choice. Because we in Africa can be represented by what we have as best, a good. The European Union shouldn't come and encourage the evil among us.

There are new ways now which as peeling off the cassava and plantain and cutting it in bits and blending it in a blender. Once that's done, you can strain the water out and then put it on the burner and continue to stir and turn until you get the right consistency. Look it up on RU-vid.

Hello Lucie, at 16:59 in your video when your guest spoke about Cocoa, you showed a picture of a Coconut. They are not the same. A coconut has a super hard shell (like in your photo) with a soft or semi hard membrane inside it with lots of liquid (like water or milk) but full of vitamins, natural sugars, amino acids, and other minerals etc. Biological name: Cocos Nucifera - Latin. Whereas the Cocoa or Kakao that your guest is talking about, is used to make chocolate. The kind of sweet creamy product you’re accustomed to in europe. Like coconut, Cocoa is a tropical plant from the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao) which happens to produce cocoa beans or seeds which are dried, roasted and milled into powder form. This is then processed further with sugars and cream to produce your favourite chocolate. Enjoy!!!

What is "wrong" for someone, can be "right" for someone else. 🙂 But shortly - Petra, who is Slovak, had quite big culture shock in Germany and she experienced some crazy things in China from a European kind of view. So she decided not to stay in those countries, and now she's happy in Vienna, Austria (I don't have an episode about Australia yet, but maybe one day I will ☺) with her Austrian boyfriend for a couple of years. 🥰 If you're interested to hear about living in those 3 countries, I I recommend you to check out the interviews with Petra. @@colorsofheartlucie I've given up, and so have many others. Historically at best, the relationship between Europeans and people of color has been functionally toxic. In any troubled relationship the first step to healing is honesty, and addressing the wrongs. And this hasn't happened. Colonialism is the most abusive system human beings have encountered and like rape, it is the gift that keeps on giving. It has infected the minds of the original colonizers, their descendants, those originally abused, and their descendants. The only way to heal when constantly being bombarded by toxicity is to obviously remove one's self from the environment poisoning them, so healing can begin.
