Nappy Don sleepwalked into a new nickname. Bonus points for it having multiple meanings. Also - don't excuse the man with "court cases are boring." The majority of work that the President does is listening to boring briefings. If he's the type of person to fall asleep during his own boring trial, he's also the type of person to fall asleep during boring briefings he'd get as President.

It's not unusual for jurors to fall asleep, but Glenn Kirchner says that in 30 years of being a prosecutor, he NEVER saw a defendant fall asleep and certainly never every day.

Does anyone remember those private hours Trump would have blocked off on his daily presidential itinerary? His people tried to claim he used them to do important work but rumors were he just used them to watch TV. I'm pretty sure he was napping during at least half of them as well. Not that there's anything wrong with a midday nap, but considering the way he boasted about his stamina, it was another page to add to his tome of tall tales.

@@qwertyshblong so my glib retort would be: “guilty” is a technical term-my clients may or may not have engaged in conduct that may or may not arise to the level of a criminal offense, AND that determination is made by a fact finder after a trial, before that all defendants stand as not guilty-and I stand by that statement. That said I’ve tried cases that were “slam dunks” to absolute “woofers” (dogs, please forgive me for the aspersion casting) and all of my clients were alert and engaged. I actually recently tried two cases with the same defendant. One was a not guilty the second was a guilty (and both verdicts, in my opinion, were correct given the evidence). He was essentially the same in both proceedings. There are a lot of collateral consequences to guilty verdicts that can color how people think about the proceedings.

"Let's give the 77-year-old former president a break." Let's not even say that we did. You think if he's falling asleep in court he's not going to fall asleep during a national security briefing? He's been found in contempt of court nearly a dozen times already for violating the judge's gag order. Instead of putting him behind bars, the judge slapped his pudgy little wrist with a tiny fine that is less onerous to him than buying a cheeseburger from McDonald's would be for the rest of us. He's already getting more of a break than any two dozen people deserve. We need to stop defending his behavior. He's a narcissist who would throw anyone under the bus, including you, if it saved him from suffering even the most minor of inconveniences. He deserves nothing but jail time for the crimes he's committed against this country and we all know he won't even see that.

NO WAY!!! No normal criminal defendant would fall asleep during a trial that could take away their freedom. Trump has also had at least 3 days a week to rest. HE DOES NOT NEED A BREAK! If he was any other criminal defendant who was threatening the judge's staff and family, he would have been incarcerated by now. This attorney has now lost all of his credibility, albeit having gained some criminal defendants.

I’m only surprised that we are surprised. So far every accusation he made against others was actually a confession.
