From an anthropological point of view the situation with porn and erotic material in general is fascinating. The one thing all mankind has in common: We all like sex. And interestingly enough, it's the one thing that is constantly censored and receives less founding and coverage than any other type of content in popular media. Our kids can't watch porn and I understand that, but they can see violence every time they watch tv or play games. We as a society think that it's better for kids to see people killing each other than people making love. And I share that sentiment, after all, I am part of this society. Maybe there's something fucked up with all of us, or maybe I am thinking too much about this.

Why don’t they use some of the income generated to hire moderators. If an account has paid for adult content then it needs to have its posts monitored.

I always hate social media platforms being responsible for the content created by other users. Its almost like saying because I got in a car accident then the state who created those roads are also liable. Personally I am glad that social media platforms are actively monitoring their sites as it does discourage and prevent illegal activity but if I post something illegal then only I should be punished.
