If you look at a lot of his new music, live shows, and interviews you can tell that Tyler is a very different person from who he was when he first started in the music industry with OF, but he still has that undeniable creativity and uniqueness. Tyler is still creative and still him, he just changed as a person and took his pent up rebellious energy and evolved it into creating unparalleled and totally different music. Tyler isn't popular or trendy because he rides trends, he's popular and trendy because he's authentic and makes trends based on what he fucks with. Tyler is selling out arena tours with live shows like no other artist and creating music that doesn't sound like anybody else. He never sold out and you can tell. He is one of the few true creatives left.

This is a great video. Love seeing smaller channels hit the right algorithm. Also I think Tyler was the biggest one out of OF who really wanted to go far. He’s been obsessed with music since his childhood, and he tried so hard to get his shit out no matter who cared. I’m happy to see his progression both musically and as a person, and I’ll always be excited to see his next drops. About Cherry bomb, I REALLY did not like it when it dropped. Only a few songs hit with me, but two years ago i gave the album another chance and I love mostly 80% of the album, and the production on it is phenomenal. You can tell Tyler was so proud of what he created with that album, and I hope the hate doesn’t make him despise the album too much as referenced on CMIYGL.

I love Tyler and his growth as a person. This was something that inspired me and I wrote my college essay about Tylers development from controversy to someone who was able to change, adapt and became a completely different person over the years. I used this growth and related to my own life and how I devopled into a person I could be proud of despite all of my struggles and own controversies in my life. Tyler truly inspires me and It may seem odd to say but I'm glad I discovered him as if not I am not sure what I would have written my essay about.

He definently wasn't outcasted by hiphop , maybe the like mainsteam music. this dude had a track with Pusha T, Game and Lil Wayne before goblin even came out . He was getting love Eminem and MF doom early on as well. He was just obscure af and didn't make radio music that's why it seemed like no one fw him cuss not a lot of ppl were listen cuss up into flower boy he was making music for his core base and whatnot.

Man I’ve been talking about this topic for a awhile now and I’m glad others feel the same way I’m glad hip hop is really embracing him more. I loved his feature on west side Gunn pray for Paris project, his feature on Freddie gibs something to rap about and maxo creams big persona is sooo amazing. Watching this video made me realize that I am officially an old head. Kendrick Lamar is much older than me but I’m clearly an old head. Tyler is great but I honestly didn’t get the hype for Tyler. The novelty of Tyler was what EMineM was doing back in the day. The dark humor, the shock value, the homophobia while also using homoerotica, the outcast/oddball energy, the large band mates, and I think Cherry Bomb is when Tyler finally became himself and not a younger Slim Shady. Like Tyler said, reference points, my reference point was Slim Shady, KanYe, and indie horror core artists. I never felt like he was outcasted. I feel like many people were simply not impressed until Flower Boy. Many people put Tyler in the Slim Shady doppelgängers list like Jarren Benton, Hopsin, and others. Cherry Bomb was the album when he didn’t sound like a younger version of Eminem. His music was also subpar to me. I know the youth loved him, and I say youth although I’m the same as Tyler because I remember seeing kids younger than me love him. But the music was subpar to me. Tyler himself says that he listens to his old music and cringes because he’s so much better now, and I agree. He can actually make music that meets the standards of today. That being said, he was also, like, claiming that his music was different because it didn’t sound like everyone else, which I can agree with, unless you also listen to other indie artists. I think he’s cool but never felt like he was outcasted. It was more like he was put into the box of Hip Hop weirdos like Eminem [>

He wasn't big during earlier in his career because odd future was deemed horrorcore/Eminem rip offs. In the early 2010s the radio was not pushing anything hardcore. What was left of the underground scene, was split on odd future due to their edgy yet childish style. Tyler got a buzz with Yonkers, and didn't get any real attention, until he came out as gay, and released Flower Boy. But Tyler never really gained radio tractions, he's selling better than most artist that are on the radio ironically.
