As one who has served as an NCO (Noncommissioned Officer) in the US Army for 23 years, please allow a few criticisms: 1) I assume the young gentlemen carry swords are officer cadets - almost to a man/woman, their belt buckles were not in line with the buttons of their tunics. 2) The tunics of all participants in dress uniform needed to be better tailored. They hung on the cadets like sacks. 3) The standard bearers in the color guard need to be drilled in the correct way to return the colors to an upright carry - very sloppy 4) All participants wearing berets need to be taught how to wear a one properly 5) It would seem that the senior officers in the audience would show the parade participants a bit of courtesy by at lease watching the parade instead of looking at the floor. Comments 1 - 4 are the results of the UPDF NCOs not doing their jobs! How did their cadre NCOs of the cadets allow them on the parade field in such a state? Shame! I would encourage the senior officer of the UPDF take a serious look at NCO training and if necessary bring in some outside advisors. While the marchers seem well drilled, the shortcomings in their appearance unfortunately causes me not to agree with the title of this video - they are certainly NOT the smartest Army in the world
Yes the appearance is sloppy and for goodness sakes someone really needs to teach that entire army how to wear a beret. There should be a sense of pride when wearing uniforms. I feel like the uniforms aren’t even tailored, they just made them in sizes S/M/L. The NCO is swinging his arms above his head 🤦🏾♂️ it should be no higher than shoulder height, that just looks weird or as if he has some kind of disability. Don’t get me started on the dressings I won’t even begin with those uninterested looking officers sitting outside with their caps off. Training standards has to be low.
They play the music very proffessional. And you hear sweetness of the Song Very organised no other Army you can tell me can match like this in the World
@@jero7 You are right. I had my K9 Team from Kenya attached to UPDF back in 2013 in C. A. R and for sure I saw the true spirit of a soldier especially the infantry
I commend their efforts, but I was disappointed to learn that they could not at least prevent Joesph Kony's LRA from mutilating and killing a lot of Ugandans, and at most capture him and bring him to justice.
I only look at the face of our president en say yes east Africa oyeee, Uhuru oyeee, magufuri oyeee, paul kagame oyeee, salva k oyeee,en all east African leaders well done
Joshua you are absolutely right. So should the rest of the 14 constituent provinces of the Uganda Federation, each one of them with a local government empowered to ensure the social and economic wellbeing of the constituents. Districts scattered all over Uganda today are simply incapable of doing it. They are not administratively progressive, nor are they economically viable. By calling them local governments does not make them so. We should therefore stop creating any more of them. Had the first regime in 1962 carried out what was agreed at independence on October 9 that year, by enabling the local governments of each one of the 15 Uganda provinces to be set up and to function as they were meant to, Uganda would be far ahead of where we are today. Since the regime in power has refused to reinstate the Uganda Federation and the 1962 Constitution of Uganda in which it is enshrined since they gained power more than 30 years ago, we have no choice but to get rid of it. We simply can no longer afford a government that is simply fooling around in Kampala, pretending to be leading the country forward when in fact they are doing the opposite. Failure to empower our rapidly growing population of Uganda to take their of themselves, we will not succeed as a country. The "demographic dividend" we are hoping for will never materialize until that happens. The Uganda Federation is what was agreed at independence. It should be reinstated now.
@@apolokaggwa7619 you have explained to this, thanks. But in the so called country of Uganda we don't have a government, these are military personnels who entered politics in the name of democracy. They are known for violating speech freedom and things of the kind.we must curse British government which refused to offer that all we desired. Almost our traditional values where lost. And it found this government opposing MENGO
Well, the Baganda say that "Omumpi wakoma wakwata,' meaning that one cannot expect anything of substance from anyone not up to it. Literary, a short person can only reach but so far and that the taller one is the higher one is capable of reaching. I never expected this regime to manage what they had taken on in 1986. Once they had won the mandate to govern in their first election back in 1996, I expected them to ask what had gone wrong with our country since the disastrous failure of leadership in 1966-67. Instead, they have looked the other way for years. Never mind that Uganda had been under an illegal republic since then, which had been imposed upon us by force. The abrogation of the Uganda Federation and the 1962 Constitution of Uganda in 1967, both of which had been agreed at independence, was a political blunder. It meant that this regime would have had to come up with some other form of governance acceptable to us, upon gaining power in 1986, by asking the question: "How are we going to govern ourselves?"By refusing to address the outstanding national issue of the governance of our country, that had been raised by the people in 1986, they have by default become a dysfunctional regime. Worse still, by harassing and attacking the opposition, they are making matters worse for themselves. Hence, you are right that "we don't have a government" in Uganda, since this regime has failed to address the fundamental issue of the governance of our country. They were never up to it back in 1986, nor are they today. "Omumpi wakoma wakwata."
Correction: Failure to empower our rapidly growing population of Uganda to take care of themselves, we will not succeed as a country.... is what I meant. Please ignore the word THEIR.
@@apolokaggwa7619 Bro if u want to live as a Ugandan but not a muganda, you just know that ever you will lament on today's politics of stupid democracy the white people introduced
Drill is smart but the Dress is shocking. Never seen so many badly fitted uniforms. Ties loose and the Sam Browne’s are ridiculous. The Buckle should be centre of the body not around the side as in most cases seen.
which world are talking about? not even in east Africa. Maybe they are smarter than Burundians but don't mention world. Do you have an idea of Korean or Chinese parade?
Smoking weed is extremely bad to your life, now you're busy proving to everyone that you have lost your common sense. How many countries have you traveled and see or what do you know concerning the army stop smoking weed.
You still can't convince the world that this is the best army when their drill is poor, they are not even marching but walking casually...the tunics are so pathetic. No dressing no alignment, the head dress is not properly worn. I think this was just a rehearsal but not a full dressed one.
