Russian President Vladimir Putin on June 19 arrived in Vietnam on a two-day visit. Putin flew to Hanoi straight from North Korea where he made a rare trip to meet Kim Jong-un. The United States condemned the visit, saying it risks normalising Russia’s “blatant violations of international laws”. You can search for it, but to summarize: at the same time China was invading VN, the Soviet military moved to China-Russia border, forcing the Chinese to move most of their military to the north. If not for Russia, Vietnam would have to fight a much bigger army.

@@Carol.Allison Ukraine was part of the USSR and so was Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia (and others). Part of the agreement for breaking up the USSR was that these nations would not join Nato. Nato has broken every treaty (like the Minsk Treaty) and they were intending to arm Ukraine and have it become part of Nato. This would surround Russia, and they are just protecting their border. Learn some history and not propaganda.
