Shawn, as always, stellar content! I’ve been thinking of doing the same with my D25 for grins and giggles. The D25 has been amazing since I took it out of the box, spent 3 minutes tweaking the tone stack, and then played a gig. I appreciate your insight and talent, especially with the gear reviews, as it gives me a tone target to shoot for.

Thanks so much! Glad to hear the D25 is working out well for you.

Shawn, I got a D25 a few weeks ago and I've really been enjoying these videos. They've helped me dial in some great sounds. I don't have the same pedals as you but I can still use the same principles. Thanks!

Very nice intro & gear breakdown. I know little about pedals, but your explanation & demo of each was quite helpful.

Dude. Change the title of this video. You literally talked about everything BUT the reason for using an extension cab with a combo. This video is useless. Just some dude talking about his signal chain.

The D20, G20 probably as well as D25 sounds great and massive with WGS Veteran 30 speakers.

Yeah, the Vet 30 is a good-sounding speaker for sure.

Can you use both the internal speaker and an external cab at the same time to have a little more of everything?

yeah but does it actually make it louder?

Shawn, Nice sounds for sure, I’m a fan of your playing ! You’ve actually inspired me to play with more intent , kinda focusing on getting my ideas out cleaner and more precise ,but without editing what comes out too much, Im finding there’s a balance with this..? Hope this makes sense. keep up the good work man! Even these random “plug in and go “ videos offer some great little nuggets of goodness ! Thanks 🙏

Thanks so much! Yeah, there's a balance to everything for sure but it's also difficult to establish a scale because it's such an individualized thing. That being said, playing with "intent" is important.

@@ShawnTubbs like if one were to have a triple power amp … each with its own master volume you could WDW and level blend to perfection!!! P350 612 triple 212 cabs or triple mini stack4 6inch per cab ??? 😀

Is bright into dark stacking significantly different than dark into bright stacking for gain stages?
@jakollee
@jakollee Год назад
I think the conventional wisdom is that the EQ of the last gain pedal in a stacking situation dominates, so a dark pedal into a bright pedal will sound pretty bright, and vice versa. But if I’m mistaken, maybe Shawn or someone else can weigh in on this?
@ShawnTubbs
@ShawnTubbs Год назад
I tend to lean more towards low-gain to high-gain stacking and not so much the tone of the pedals themselves. That being said @jakollee is correct in stating that the last pedal in the chain would tend to dictate eq. Not always but more than not.
