Earlier this week we invited Mike (Yes, THE Mike) to come into the workshop and run us through a training and familiarisation session on the V10 Type Balanced Hydraulic Rotary Vane Pump and explained why in the long run they are better than a gear pump.
Mike explains that all parts are fully interchangeable with Eaton, Vickers, and Cessna V10 Vane Pumps, in addition, these pumps are an ideal replacement for Vickers / Eaton pumps as well as an excellent alternative for cost-effective spare parts.

Mike's show and tell include the following:
time stamps
0:00 introduction
0:30 The differences between V10 and V20 series pumps.
1:11 A large number of input shaft options are available.
1:50 The 4 different porting arrangements
2:30 Pump End Cover options Priority (Hydrostat) and Flow Control and how they work.
3:52 Cam Ring and Vane Rotor explained
5:06 Pump-rated Flow in Gallons per minute at 1200 RPM is Clarified. The unique way the various optional flow Cartridges are sized based on flow at a constant 1,200 RPM
6:00 Rotation explained and the simplicity of a rotation change.
8:12 Advantages of Vane pumps over gear pumps
9:06 The Comprehensive list of spare parts available and how the model we have sourced is fully interchangeable with Eaton, Vickers, and Cessna V10-type Vane Pumps.
Parts available, end cover, valve plate, shafts, seals, cartridge kit, bearing, and bolts.
10:10 Mike goes on to explain how the V10 is ideal for low to medium pressure applications (up to 2500 PSI) V10 Vane Pumps offer a quieter, more flexible, and re-buildable alternative to the traditional gear pump. the V10 can also be used as a replacement pump when looking to change out a damaged or worn gear pump.
Calculating and ordering the correct V10 Cartridge size is a calculation based on RPM and Flow required.
Also, check out the video below that explains the inner working of the balanced vane pump, and why they operate with less noise, and vibration and generally have a longer service life than gear pumps and therefore are a superior and viable alternative or replacement to a gear pump.
• balanced vane pump
Important Note: All Cartridge Flow Rates are based on 1200 RPM shaft speed.
For example. The flow required is 8 gallons per minute (8 GPM) at 1500 RPM shaft speed.
1500/1200 =1.25 therefore 8 / 1.25 = 6.4 GPM
Ordering your pump with either a 6 or 7 GPM Cartridge will get close to your desired 8 GPM.
Hydraulic. online has all V10 models in stock including all part variations (shafts cartridges, end covers, and relief valves) readily available for quick assembly to your custom specifications and requirements.
Because Vane pumps are simple in design and re-buildable, maintenance and repair is easier, quicker, and far more cost-effective because every part from shaft to endplate can be replaced or swapped out.
Unlike gear pumps the V10 Vane Pump pressure cartridge is internally balanced this means that there are no internal radial loads applied to the shaft and bearings even under higher pressures because of this balanced design V10 type Vane pumps generally have a much longer service life.
Rotation changes are simply performed by unbolting the end plate and flipping the cartridge section 180 degrees.

¿Tienen sentido? How about this? Are they good enough ? Do they make sense?
