Winters in Myrtle Beach are much better than Winters in Northern Maine where I live....50's and 60's are much better than single digits and teens for high temps. I will be spending my Winters in Myrtle in the near future.
I love the off season. My kids and I enjoyed everything then when there wasn’t alot of crowds and short lines. And the morning May start off a little chilly but by the afternoon we were in short sleeves.
Just got back from a weekend getaway. Cheaper rates and less crowds for sure. Less trafic and little or no waits at restaurants. Love it there this time of year. Going back for a week at the end of February.

This will be our 3rd visit between Christmas and a few days after New Year...love the Oceanfront Hampton Inn. This year after that Nor’easter yesterday so happy to head south for MB. Merry Christmas to you.
Very nice. Thank you. We are heading down in mid January for a month. Yes, it won't be 80 but it will be better than 20 below in upstate New York. I got a great condo on the beach for a great price also. We'll see how it goes.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yes it's cold here now but of course it's going to be warmer than OH by a long shot! 😎 It's very rare to find large shells at Myrtle Beach due to the rough surf. Most are broken by the time they make it to shore. The best shells I've found were at Huntington Beach State Park which is just South of Myrtle Beach. The way the jetty goes out from that park into the water I think causes more shells to gather there. I've gotten some beautiful whelk shells with vibrant colors from that park. The winter motel rates are among the cheapest in the US,maybe not quite as warm as Florida but how many motels or hotels in Florida have indoor swimming pools and you still have that Florida feel to it Palm Trees, Gators and Geckos!!Parking though unfortunately you may now have to pay in the winter also.
