I don’t understand why they don’t keep this game going. Put bundles back in the store, add rebirth, rotate Verdansk and caldera. They are sitting on so much money but they know they would lose another huge chunk of players (permanently) from wz2. They had such a good game with wz1. Wasn’t perfect, but really fun for people of all skill levels.
probably lose 95% of players and wz2 would insta die, after investing millions of dollars in the new game, I don't think they will do that. Probably only rebirth and fortunes keep is enough to make wz2 die, bringing back verdansk in wz1 there is absolutely 0% chance
They’d have to throw the towel in on wz2. I’m not saying that would be a bad idea, and it could happen, but they won’t make new content for both at the same time.
They're a business here to make money. They need people on wz2 to get em to buy mw2 to rank up the guns and buy the new skins. The most annoying part about wz2 imo is actually DMZ and raids, because those side projects that no one asked for, and only a minority enjoy, detract time and attention away from wz2, and leads to sub par design standards for everything, and poorly thought out and implemented systems, for example the mission to unlock raids being 2 player, and raids being 3 player, or cutting the player base off from doing new dmz content unless you get an rng drop.

That’s the thing nothing is fun about it. Wether competitive or not. You can’t fluently play this. Bugs and lag, not enough uav or buy access the buy system is bad. So many things on top of movement that still slow this game down. Ads is slow, no dolphin diving and shoot at same time. Too much realism for this to be called a competitive game, or even call of duty for that matter. It’s disappointing compared to WZ1
they don't play for fun I can tell you that, that's their job, if you go into their stream they are always saying how bad the game is. Most people found their job boring at some point but that is not a good enough reason to quit, especially when you make 100s of thousands of dollars a year, Huskers probably makes 2k per stream or more. I currently don't play wz2 because I found it boring, but if I was making 900k a year playing it I guaranteed you I would be grinding 8 hours a day.
I have been saying this since it was taken away. I would literally uninstall wz2 tomorrow so I could have more space for clips, dont think i taken a single clip since wz2

do anyone see that in warzone 1 you feel the very first bullet so you have a few milliseconds more to react but in wz2 you just feel the last 2 bullets before you are dead? and in the killcam you see they hit you with 15 bullets, lots of stuff i miss that was really fun to see here!

Love the idea of making Caldera part of your weekly content 👍. I do miss the movement and the quality of life aspects of WZ1. I don’t miss having to slide cancel 1000 times a match. I also don’t miss getting my camera broken by TTV and JoeWo sweats. I am actually starting to like WZ2, I just wish we had the option to have access to WZ1 and WZ2 full games and maps.

I got off warzone completely after a month of warzone 2. I tried giving it a shot, its horrible. I got on a game of caldera early January and fell in love with warzone again. I honestly haven't even been able to enjoy watching any warzone2 streams. only streams I watch are CDL.. this was a breath of fresh air to watch, thank you for the much needed great content !
I agree 9000% with the step by step process. I felt that since I first played, having a controller with back pedals doesn't even seem to have a purpose in WZ2. I loved being able to whizz around on WZ1 and won a lot of 50 50 gunfights using movement. On WZ2 I have to keep allowing extra time for the massive engagement process.

Here’s the issue and I can say I am also guilty of this. But everything that he said was great about Warzone 1 in this video are the things we complained about during Warzone 1s lifecycle. Personally since Warzone 2 dropped I’ve left COD but this brings back great memories. If they ever brought back the OG Rebirth Island like Alcatraz I’d never leave the game
Like what? Because the only people that complained about the movement skill gap were the ones that didn’t care to try and learn it. No one complained about the buy station unless there was a bug. No one complained about the portable buys either. And no one complained about the vehicles or shooting anyone out of the air.

Would love to see a weekly wz1 gameplay! Yesterday we managed to get the whole squad online for some ashika island for the first time since rebirth island was active, and when we were done everyone was like "nah fuck this game, it's not even fun, it's just addictive in terms of getting kills". I'm trying to convince them to go back to wz1 but they always hated caldera, they want verdansk or rebirth island, and i tend to agree with them that those were the glory days of this game.
- Verdansk into WZ1 - WZ2 down for 3 months while they fix the absolutely countless list of problems, balances, community feedback etc - Re-remove Verdansk and re-release WZ2 for season 3 with the issues fixed Between those of us that want WZ2 good and those who would spend the 3 months playing verdansk, there would be a massive player base ready to go for the re-release of WZ2 & they can actually get it right this time...
Once they bring back wz1 no one will switch back to wz2 it’s just a rat game whereas wz 1 requires skill and was literally perfect the game modes to the maps and the overall feel of the game was just better the best thing activision can do is simply just concentrate on wz1 and bring back updates on that game
Looks like fun Joe! I think what we will never understand is why they removed the movement mechanics in WZ2. Can you imagine all the QOL we eventually got in WZ1 as a starting point for WZ2 with a new beautiful map and the same fluid movement mechanics? Heck, they could have even made slide cancelling easier by adding a slide cancel function which could have cut the slide cancel keystrokes from 3 to 2 (33% reduction). The community would have gone nuts, the game would be on fire right now. Honestly, my guess is dev team leadership never really played WZ1 and they certainly weren't good at it if they did. So they are trying to nerf the skill gap. So we have the worst of both worlds, almost zero skill gap with a crushing SBMM. Everything about the game penalizes movement. It even gets worse in that the short range meta is now a fire auto shotgun which EVERYONE is using in both WZ2 and MP. Lots of people sitting in buildings with a Doof Doof and there's not much you can do about it but get a shotgun yourself. I hate shotguns because it takes zero skill to use it. Sick of complaining about it and reading posts from other people complaining about it. I love WZ but I'm almost done. I guess nothing lasts forever.
The devs get pressured by management into creating an "accessible" game for low frequency players because they mistakenly believe a game that is popular among casuals will make more money. What they don't seem to understand is that making the mechanics casual makes the game less fun and drives away the player base (which it did). Maybe things will change now that revenues are down.
@@curlyfryactual Good point! The thing the Devs seem like they don't consider is the fact that there is SBMM. This allows for a steep learning curve but still keeps the game "accessible". It's the whole point of SBMM. Casuals for the most part play against casuals. A large skill gap gives the game longevity, it makes it grindable. Zero skill gap leads to boredom and obsolescence. It just seems like their actions are hurting all players.

They falling off the financial expectation cliff, and will massively miss EPS targets. What they are making is not the issue at all, it’s missing financial targets that will cause heads to roll. I pray that with the new platform coming in the Fall (which is a full year earlier than originally planned…hummmm I wonder why that is??) that they will bring Advanced movement back. Based on how quickly they absolutely destroyed something that was so good in almost every way WZ1 v WZ2, I’m not optimistic.
What I dont understand is why games like fortnite and apex never changed their core gameplay and have been here for years but they did this to us the WZ community 😭
I miss Rebirth island the most. If they released it I would be back in a heartbeat.They won’t release it because the player base on warzone2 would really suffer.
Great seeing Caldera again. I get it wasn't the best playable map i.e but personally I loved the tropical design. Caldera clash was an absolute riot. And Plunder too.
I have to say as a more casual player. I’m glad there are not guys jumping around like this anymore. I miss slide canceling, but CoD is correct that ridding the movement sweats makes the game consistently more fun for casuals instead of getting those nights with movement sweat lobbies

I like that you can run over the loot and it automatically picks up what you need. Really miss that about WZ1. Of the course the movement was way better and the buy stations. All I need is rebirth back and I'm good.
Caldera was my 1st time trying out a Br game, let alone 1st CoD experience, fell in love with it and now to unlearn most of the skills I learnt is sad. Keep the gammeplays coming not finding much lobbies in South Africa
Everything about this game is just better. If you exclude the map itself, every aspect of the gameplay is more fun. Why did they try to change everything when all we wanted was all the QoL updates and changes at peak Caldera (end of WZ1) in a brand new map with brand new guns and none of the old stuff overcrowding it. You exemplify it Joe same as me. When I play this game I am having genuine fun 90% of the time. When I play WZ2 I’m mostly just doing it to play with my friends, and the gameplay is 90% boredom
PS Joe I love your stuff man and it’s a shame my favourite streamers are suffering because of a boring game. This video is fire and that clip of you flaming the team in the building beside lighthouse just again shows how fun WZ1 can be.
it drives me crazy how they had 2 years of learning and improvments to make warzone 1 at the end a really great game and then launch wz2 that still is a huge stepbackwards in every aspect, movemente, gunfight, no lootable perks, shit vehicles and so on

I think the changes they’ve made recently are a good step in the right direction. It is nice to not have to slide cancel across the map. This being said WZ1, even on release, was always miles ahead where WZ2 is now
If they brought back rebirth island on warzone 1 warzone 2 would die 100%. I honestly think the developers just don't give a fck maybe they have been taken over by people who want to destroy the brand. All they had to do was transfer warzone over to warzone 2 all of our skins the movement, the balloons, loadout guns coming out of loot, easy loadouts, and then add in the new stuff from warzone 2, new map, being able to shoot on zip lines, better graphics , new guns, new store items, improved anti cheat, ranked modes... very simple stuff and they had plenty of money to do this very easily. I don't understand how they messed this up the only logical thought is that it's on purpose by people who have taken over the company somehow and got hired and want to destroy the brand.
I think fundamentally it comes down to being punished for trying to make large movements in combat. I think they should bring the slide cancel back maybe slightly toned down but just make sure it doesn't reset tac sprint thats all. So you don't have to slide around the map. But also don't punish people for sliding or jumping.

I went back and played it yesterday and had a blast honestly! Hearing yourself and other content creators say how they miss the movement makes me wonder something though. Why do most creators seem afraid to admit they wish slide canceling was in the game. I always see people say they’re glad it’s gone but the complain about clunky movement. We need the crackhead movement back and ADS times and wZ2 would be a lot better off. Fuck the bots and their complaints
Yea I notice this too.. They don't want to admit it because there's usually a sector of the fan base that will call them names for wanting it. I personally liked everything about WZ1 besides Caldera map and hackers! If they would've just given us the new map and fixed the hacking like they ultimately did and kept everything else the same it would've been perfect. Why does it even need to be a WZ2? Fortnite never had to go through that
This game is honestly way more interesting to watch people like Joe play because the movement leads to crazy gameplays. That being said, I don’t miss slide cancelling or dealing with people that can do that to me at all lol

The reason the dev team fixes things that aren't broke is because someone gets a promotion or a end of year bonus to develop new crap. Then even if it sucks they stick with it so they don't have to admit the bonus or promo wasn't warranted
Man it feels so good to see Joe play wz1 again. It was such a perfect showcase of 2 years of quality changes of life that were implemented into a game for them to flush that all down the toilet for wz2. Jgod summed it up perfectly on his video. Warzone felt like a cod game with a battle royale attached. Warzone 2 feels like a battle royale with cod attached.
this is actually entertaining to watch because of the finesse, movement and fluidity that Joe is talking about. I find myself bored of WZ2 gameplay because its just not as *artful*
@@7henoble1 takes skill to hit head shots, doesnt take skill to sit in a corner with a one shot pistol or shotgun. at least ttk and movement let you have a chance of finessing around those situations. (including one shot headshot snipers from wz1). nope open door, corner camper, done for. id rather get quick scoped by a skillful player then die to a bot camping with a broken not so skillful weapon.

It still doesn't change the fact that 1 and 4 is contradictory. In WZ one, most of the kar98/Swiss quick scorers was absolutely trash. They only got thir kills because those weapons didn't have flinch, yet had the same range as a HDR. Once they put that finch on the weapons, they wasn't a problem anymore, and many of them quit 🤣.

Portable buy stations are super slept on. Could refresh inventory, give the opportunity for more buys on the map, and they cannot be camped when deployed.
The difference is that there’s a way to get better all the time in this game. I felt, even towards the end, that the game challenged me, the players challenged me. They threw in so much stuff like the balloons to play around with. Now its like: oh well, all the cars are in Al Mazrah city so I will use the next five minutes walking through the open field below observatory. They need to change things fast cause WZ2 is dying. Just look how fast they nerfed snipers but how long it takes them to handle the broadside 25 round two-tap dragons breath… I mean come on
