Worcester Safe Space was developed following the first successful assessment for Purple Flag, assessing the businesses' demands during the early hours and the potential vulnerabilities that naturally arise during unsociable hours. Investigating ways to reduce pressures within venues, for the door staff, police and the NHS service.
As a city, it is important for our night time economy to thrive and feel they have the support, should incidents arise.
During the first 6 months Safe Space has cared for 945 people, 75% of whom were city residents with 54% in the age range of between 17 - 24.
Our city venues' number one priority is customer experience, ensuring they have a safe and memorable night. The Safe Space adds this additional support, ensuring if something were to go wrong, you would be taken care of instantly and still leave feeling that it was a positive experience within the venues and city streets.
