Still smh, the Tribute wasnt meant for Sponegbob directly, but for Stephen. Yes its awesome, despite only a 13 sec cameo. But what I hate more is how they teased it, how they selled it. You dont tipically do such advertisment for that just because of 13 *fucking* seconds. NFL is just as out of the touch with its customers. And attracting younger people definetely failed to do so, because we thats all we wanted. A complete rendition of Sweet Victory, not just a cameo. Early Spongebob Seasons were my younger childhood (just as for so many people that looked forward to the halftime show), but got dissapointed big time. Big companys fail pretty much advertising to younger audiences, because these are just all old people not knowing how to attract young people. Why do people think Fortnite got so popular? Not because it was revolutionary or extremely good, but knew how to advertise to young and old people ("old" i mean until 30-ish. Basically advertise to Millenials and Gen Z, mainly). Like Spongebob has one of the biggest age spectrums in TV-History. from Millenials to 90s "Kids" to "Transitional Gen Z" (1998-2003), then even the middle to young Gen Zs (anyone born after 2003/2004). Also Baby Boomers or even some pensioners (65+ years)

Luckily for Spongebob fans NHL (National Hockey league) Actually PLAYED SWEET VICTORY SO SAY YAYAYAYAYAY TO NHL eh!!!!

This was a huge spit to the face considering we (the fans) *NEVER EVER* ask the NFL for anything but they couldn't just do this. The sad part about that was Every last song they played sucked. It was all rushed to cram more content, sickomode stunk, everything was just trash. You can argue this was the worst halftime show of all time. Sweet Victory could have kept them in the conversation in a positive matter. This isn’t something I’m soon going to forget. The day the NFL and Maroon 5 ignored the suggestion and failed miserably!

Personally, it wouldn’t have been so bad if the NFL just didn’t bother with it and just posted Sweet Victory on their Facebook or Twitter or something like that. But the fact that they put in the intro to hype everyone only to abruptly end it was just a slap in the face. This was the ultimate ratings trap on top of an already lackluster game. As a resident of the Atlanta area, I’m ashamed that this was the Super Bowl that was played in my hometown. I always preferred college anyway.

You know I am actually sad. Considering Spongebob is my favorite show it actually kinda hurts they didn't play this song. :'(

You did make a good point at the end. The show is loved so much that over 1 million signed it. It wemt around like crazy. The show has been aound for 20 years is still loved. It hasnt died like others. It hasnt ended. I'm 26 and still watching and quoting that show. A group of friends and I will say lines and talk aboutt the show. We were playing a playlist of songs the other day becaues we love the show. Bands perform at the SB to get viewers and fans. Spongebob didnt need some event to be loved so much

Just saying that this super bowl was also the worst super bowl of all time, the score was 13-3, garbage, most people say the rams vs chiefs in week 10 Monday night football was the real super bowl, that games score was 51-54, rams win, that game would have been the greatest super bowl, also I don’t give a fuck if it’s only 13 seconds, we needed the whole thing, if you get Michael Jackson on the show, you should be able to put on a 2 minute clip, also thr NHL team Dallas sparks, I think, they not only went out of their way in just a regular season game, to not only did they play the clip, but they changed the clip so it would be the fans instead of the bubble bowl fans, they changed it to the ice rink instead of the field, and they even changed the uniforms to be green, also if the sweet victory full thing was played at the super bowl, the super bowl wouldn’t be forgotten (the exact super bowl) it would be known as the super bowl that payed tribute to him, Ohio state university did multiple spongebob things before his death in the halftime band thing, maybe even other colleges did the same, OSU even did a Michael Jackson tribute, and they made it moonwalk and lean, so Im not happy about them not putting in the whole thing. We should be grateful that we even got SpongeBob in the halftime show at all. I mean, it's not what we expected or wanted, but it's better than nothing. We should be thankful, not only for the NFL doing anything at all, not only for that one random person who decided to start the petition, but for the man who started this whole thing 20 years ago to begin with. Because of that man, we have created everlasting memories, made friends and grew up alongside our favorite sponge for the past 20 years. Because of this man, we are able to recognize that F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for you and me, and N is for anywhere and anytime at all, on land and the deep blue sea.
