My husband and I watched you when you last did the NEC and I told you (from the audience) just how great we think you are - and you are. You are not full of flash, trying to sell products to get money in, no big boobs flashing for click bate! Integrity is what you are made of - it is your core - you come across as a lovely, genuine man with a honest love of caravans and motorhomes. We will always follow you and shame on those that talk about giving you work and then putting you on radio silence. The Outer Hebrides will be waiting for you - but family is clearly important in your life - and we look forward to future updates. Continue to be the professional that you are - that is why we love you. 💜🧡
Awe Andrew 😢 It’s so sad when the realities of life get in the way of your dreams. Scotland will still be here if your circumstances change in the future. Your family are very lucky to have your love and support. I am sure they will be very grateful for your move south. We’ll continue to support your fantastic channel. Sending you our best wishes.
How anyone can say you lack integrity is beyond comprehension. It oozes from you, along with so many other obvious wonderful qualities. I wish you all the best Andrew.I'm sure everything will work out for you. And I will of course keep following you.
Andrew - I’m so sorry to hear your news and thank you for sharing it so openly and courageously. My wife and I have been fans of yours for a long time, so hope your move and future plans will still support your aspirations and dreams. Sending you our very best wishes. ❤
Hi Andrew. Several years ago, my wife and I were considering a holiday to the Outer Hebrides and a search on RU-vid introduced us to your fantastic channel. On the back of your recommendation we had a fantastic time in the Uists and literally fell in love with the place! Fast forward a year or two later and we were plunged into a pandemic. My wife was frontline in a hospital and as a teacher I was delivering parcels to our communities whilst desperately trying to learn how to teach online. Like most people we found it a miserable experience. One Sunday evening- feeling a bit isolated and nervous about the future, I watched your journey back to the Hebrides. The sense of optimism and escape that this provided was invaluable. The reason I’m rambling about this is because I want to say thank you. After watching your most recent video about leaving the Hebrides and I want to communicate our thanks and allow you to recognise that your channel has brought so much comfort even in the dark times. I know that everything will work out well for you in the end and want to wish you all the best.
I never comment but find myself commenting twice in a month. I ‘feel’ so much for your predicament and I’m going to say what most of your other subscribers say: do what your heart tells you. It’s a massive wrench but family for you is obviously paramount. Thank you for all your entertaining videos and your honesty.
I understand that as a single person, paying bills and supporting family. I love my caravan, and it's important to me as having some quality of life not just existing but I am honestly thinking I can not afford it. I work 30 hours a week, and with my physical health issues, it would be difficult to increase.
I am a frequent visitor to North Uist, and have been following you on RU-vid, I come up every year to help keep the geese off the Machair crops for the Crofters, I am up on the 26th August and was hoping to see you and have a chat, but it seems your on the move, I am about for a fortnight whilst they get the crops in, will you be back again to your house or have you sold it? Would have liked to have met you, I am from North Dorset so a long way from uist like yourself. I wish you well with your relocation, and hope you find some more substanable ways of earning an income, I have enjoyed your videos. All the best Barry Fudge.
As someone who also lived in the Outer Hebrides for over 3 years I emphasize with you completely. My reasons for leaving were pretty similar to yours. My family stay in the Central Belt of Scotland and I moved back to be closer to them. It's been a difficult adjustment to make though. Having to lock my house and car. No neighbourly chats in the local shop. Traffic lights. Road rage. My GP not really knowing who I am. No same day GP appointments. I could go on. Being with my family is a blessing, but a part of me will always belong to my Eilean Mo Chridh. Wishing you every success for the future.
I feel your pain Andrew. We all need to do what we can to survive these turbulent times. You are a genuine and lovely human. You bring joy to many with your RU-vid content and positive attitude. Onwards and upwards sir. Thank you for entertaining those of us who are unable to get out and travel.
Dear Andrew, your integrity and professionalism is unquestionable and I hope you don’t let those that say otherwise take up any more time in your head or heart. I’m sad to hear you have to Uist. It looks amazing and it’s understandable that it will be a big change for you and your boys. I wish you good things and always turn to your videos for insightful, professional reviews. I hope the industry start to value your contributions more highly in the future. Best wishes, Anna
Hey Andrew, huge respect mate. You have taken a very courageous and selfless decision and I applaud you for it. People are precious and it's right we cherish them, I'm sure there will be plenty of time for more adventures . Prayers for a stress and trouble free move back down south and I'm very much looking forward to your next videos!
Andrew. Gutted to hear that you’re having to leave your dream home in the Hebrides. I’ve followed your channel for a number of years and saw how excited you were when you finally got to move to Uist. I wish you and you family the very best for the future….. P.S. ignore the idiots who try and degrade what you do. Trust me, your integrity is very much in place and I know there are enough of us in your corner to support you.
I always find it incredibly sad leaving the Hebrides even after a week's holiday, so can only imagine how you must feel having to leave your lovely home. Not everyone gets it but I've always felt strongly drawn to the islands, their sense of community and their barren, unspoiled beauty and peace ever since first visiting twenty years ago. Nowhere on earth I'd rather be if I could, but like you family must come first. Really appreciate your work and look forward to following future adventures.
Great video. Sadly, the world is filled with people who enjoy hurting others and having a public presence gives them more access to you. Don’t doubt yourself. You have more talent with your production values and personality than a lot of RU-vid caravan channels . You are an interesting and creative reviewer and the entire caravan industry is going through a rough patch post-Covid.
This is so sad Andrew, your channel and you have been an absolute inspiration to many folk, me for one... I'm doing exactly what you have done only without producing the content, I took your videos as inspiration and as I type this am sat on the side of Loch Glascarnoch, you made me see a vision and that it wasn't all about being sat in an office 9-5... life is on the road now, waking up in a different place every other day whilst I find myself... Thank you 🙏
Why do people opt to live solitary ,isolated lives unless, of course, they have a vocation of some kind?it goes beyond introspection and seems perverse ,at the risk if being glib ,it seems morbid...I have always thought that had god wanted us or made us to live on our own in inhospitable climes and locations he would have fitted us to do so ,and hence that more of us would be doing so
Your story resonates with my situation back in 2018. I retired early to spend time with my mum who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. I’m glad I did and have never regretted it, the precious time and memories I had with her before she passed will stay with me for the rest of my days.
You only live once, do what makes you happy. It takes more guts to give something a go and follow your dream than it does never to try it. All the best with your next adventure 👍😊
Sad news Andrew, and I feel your pain. We relocated from Portsmouth to The Isle of Skye in 2010 and made it work for seven years, but ultimately the distance between us and aging parents, plus the challenges of making a living there , plus I found the regular travelling utterly demoralising to the point I could no longer face the 693 miles. All the best for the new phase of your life, family comes first, and I’m sure you will find quality work or employment very easily.
It's a shame you are leaving your beautiful house, but heart-warming that you're moving closer to family. Houses are temporary, but the love and closeness of a family is forever. Stay safe Andrew.
Andrew, i can't even imagine how sad you must feel to leave your favorite spot. But when things get better...you sure have a place to go back to. It is a very wise decision to move closer to your family. I wish you all the strengths and lots of positive energy for the next month. i absolutely love your channel and you content is top notch. as are you. hopefully it will pay off soon again. a big hug for you and your two 🐶🥰
Very sorry to hear your sad news. It seems these days unless you're blowing up your van or having other improbable disasters, you don't get the top shelf on RU-vid.
So sorry to hear you are having to leave somewhere you love. My husband and I are avid viewers of your channel and can’t believe anyone has questioned your integrity. I hope things work out for you and look forward to following your next adventure. Stay safe. X
Andrew, such mixed emotions, so sad that you're leaving your lovely house and the gorgeous Hebrides you love so much, but so glad to hear that your brother is making a recovery and it's brought you closer together as a family, which is the most important aspect of all this. Take care.
Much respect and love to you from us both. Life is full of twists and turns and your memories of Uist and the Hebrides will live with you forever. We are sure you will be reunited with your beloved Scotland in future. Meanwhile you have events to enjoy and precious time with your family which is priceless. Travel safely and embrace the change with your normal positive attitude. Take care 💙 Trev n Sue x
Safe travels on your move. I know how painful it is to make such a change. It’s always been very obvious how much the Hebrides have been home for you. And I hope that once you get settled down in Kent, you can still make the occasional trip back and bring us along for those adventures.
What a beautiful home you have there! It is hard to leave a home, I have moved 23 times so I can relate. One of the things you will be taking with you is the ability to make places into a home. I have seen it with all the caravans you showed us and it very much shows in this tour. I am certain your next place will become a home too. Thank you for your videos I have never seen anything but open transparency on this channel.
So sorry to hear you are having to move. It’s great that your brother is improving and I wish you all the very best. As for the idiots who commented on your video, well it shows what kind of people they are and how little they matter. Look after yourself and I hope your hard work pays off eventually. Regards Luke.
Andrew, this is all very hard, but putting family responsibilities first is so important. All my best to you and your wee boys! I wish I could purchase your lovely house!
Hi Andrew, sorry to hear you are having to leave your wonderful home. What an amazing view from your bedroom window. I wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life. And I understand your choice. Your family is important. You need to let them know you love them now. One day it maybe too late. As for Dougal and Ted, they will be happy wherever they are, as long as they are with you.
So sorry to hear you are leaving us and have total empathy for the difficult choice you have had to make as we have recently been wrestling with the same dilemma. We have been following you for years and found your videos about living full-time in a caravan very helpful when our daughter first lived out here before she got a house. Hopefully your future plans include the occasional holiday back up here and that we will once again see Dougal and Ted enjoying the freedom of our amazing beaches. We will of course be continuing to follow you and wish you all the best for your future. - Julia and Steve
Andrew, my heart goes out to you and your family. I’m so sorry that you’re put into this situation. I’m sure it will be hard and stressful in the short term, but completely understand your reasoning. Andrew don’t ever loose who you are. We love you and would watch you read a phone book. ❤
Hi Andrew, we've been watching you from New Zealand for some time now and love your work. We're very sorry to hear that you're having to move from your lovely home but hope the move to Kent goes well. Please keep doing what you do, you're an inspiration to lots of folk, lots of love Kay and Dave xx
Thank you for this video Andrew. My wife and I have recently become fans of your content through our love of the Hebrides and are only sad we found you so late! My mother is quite ill at present and I'm experiencing a sensitive time in life. I'm seeing more than ever the hostility that comes at us from all directions in life and as you quite rightly say, it is exhausting. Good luck to you in your move and we'll continue to support you and your wonderful channel(s) where we can.
Thank you Andrew, your videos have really helped me get into caravanning and have made a real impact on our family. We've been able to give our kids some amazing experiences and it feels like we're just getting started, in no small part thanks to the confidence instilled by your vlogs, tips, and reviews. Really sorry that things have been tough for you, both with your business and family circumstances, and that you have to leave the place you love.
A similar problem exists for people I know living on the islands off the west coast of British Columbia in Canada. The isolation from other family, medical services, etc. is simply unsustainable over the long term.
I live on Vancouver island, since 2006, and the gulf islands that you mention are beautiful, but some have very little on them, such as Drs etc. My friend is a chiropractor and he used to go to Saturna island on a Saturday , once a month. Island life gets harder as you get older.
Best wishes for a good outcome, Andrew. I have an inkling of how much Scotland means to you in terms of place, language and the island culture through your videos over the years. I still miss Wales after leaving at the age of twelve when my parents had to move to England for work, but that great sense of place, people and culture always remained. Maybe the island mindset and sense of community will stay with you in some way…
I hear your sadness. But your love of mother and brother comes through clear and strong. You are a blessed and good man. Life is a journey for sure. And that being said we need an income to support our journey. I’ve watched your videos for a long time and hope to see more in the future. Wishing you, Dougal, and Ted happiness ahead!👍👍😊
So sorry to hear that you’ve had to take this difficult decision Andrew. Only you can make that choice, having been inspired by your videos I toured the outer Hebrides in my camper this winter/spring and am seriously considering relocating to the Uists while my circumstances allow. Good luck with the move, I hope all goes well for you and your family.
Sorry to hear your are leaving your beautiful home. You are an inspiration and a beacon of hope to many people. Your channel is fantastic. Send our love to the two lovely Russell’s as well. I hope you find somewhere equally special in your next home. It is courageous how you you are sacrificing your home and peace for your family but remember to try and care for yourself as well. Much love
Andrew, I've watched your videos for a long time and have always admired your honesty. Although difficult, you're making the right decision for the right reasons. I look forward to watching whatever you create in the future. Best wishes.
So sorry about your sad news . We absolutely adore the Hebrides and can imagine what a wrench it will be to leave 😢we often dream about living there too ( especially in this crazy world we live in now ) but so many things get in the way to stop us doing it ! Family and work and finances are the main reasons .It’s great that you’ve had the chance to live in your lovely home there and as always are such a kind and thoughtful person and feel you should move back home to be with your mum and brother and can totally understand that. Wish you all the luck in the world and your family and 2 beautiful dogs . Hope you manage to keep on doing the great vlogs and still are able to visit Scotland when you can . We feel your pain 😩. All the best Andrew x❤
@andrewjditton you do you, you be you, that’s why we support you. You are not like some of those other RU-vidrs who clearly were never taught by their parents that “when you have nothing nice to say then say nothing”. Keep making the videos and keep being the decent kind human being that we all know and love.
Wishing you a very happy future! Watched many of your videos! At least you lived in such a beautiful place, something many don't have the strength to try. Your doing the right thing.... You are amazingly 'open' I wish I was as much of an open book. Your mum is lucky to have you! ❤
You know what Andrew. back in 2017 watching your videos was the thing that convinced me to part with the best part of £20k. Since then me and my family have had countless wonderful holidays in our van. It strikes me that the leisure touring industry actually owe a lot to you. I can't imagine the extra value you have given to the two main caravan clubs, countless manufacturers, ferry companies, campsites , foreign road networks, foreign shows etc etc...... Just think it is wrong that you are not able to make ends meet when so many others are making lots of money from you. Andy
Andrew, I've been a subscriber to your channel for many years. You were a major influence on our decision to get into caravanning some years ago, which we have never regretted, and you helped us massively, to find our way through layouts, budgets and numerous other considerations with confidence. I still look forward to your films and love your no nonsense, fiercely independent, balanced style of reviewing and the realistic view of caravanning that you always offer. I particularly enjoy the way you like to show us the social side of caravanning, the reunions, the making of new friends, the shared times together. I remember you posting that joyous vlog "Dreams DO come true" in 2020, when you travelled to Uist and picked up the keys to your home there, and I've just re-watched it with a lump in my throat that I can't get rid of. That was such a happy moment, and I'm desperately sad for you that this dream has not worked out as you had hoped. In putting your family ahead, perhaps, of personal considerations, you are doing what all of us know in our hearts we should do, but many would not. That is admirable, and I wish you well in the next chapter of your life with your two loving and faithful companions. I really hope you can find a way to keep making these wonderful films for us.
Watching from New Zealand. Like others, I feel sorry that you are having to move. Having made films myself I appreciate the quality of your helpful videos. Best wishes, John Rothery (Tauranga)
All the very best Andrew, life move forward and sometime we don’t understand the direction, but it usually comes out right in the end. You may not remember me from Eurostar - I was one of the NOLI drivers who left in 1999 - but back then you always seem strong and optimistic. You’ve done well to carve your own path, and I’m sure that despite the bumps in the road you’ll become stronger. A few of our old colleagues put me onto your channel a while ago - ex caravanner now campervan family ( the wife, Minnie our JRT and me) - and love your content. Stay strong and keep up the good work.
Andrew you need to do 23 a month my mate has a fishing Chanel he does 20 a month he earns enough to pack his full time job 2 videos a month no wonder why Look at gadget John and Mandy the make enough to tour Europe 2 vans and live
I get where you are coming from and thank you. But I was pursuing a different model based on quality not quantity. Your mate's success tells me where the dollar lies.
Andrew, anyone who knows you will realise this move is going to break your heart but it says so much about you as a caring, considerate, amazing human being that you will give up all that you worked so hard for to help your Mum and brother. Thinking of you, and wishing you peace and all the success in the world. xx
Sad to hear you are moving, you’re such a lovely chap putting your family first. All the best with the move, safe travels, and I will look forward to watching your future adventures.
Sorry you have to leave your lovely house and the Hebrides. It warms my heart to hear how you are going to be with your family. You are a wonderful son and brother. Take care Andrew! I will continue to watch and look forward to seeing you soon!
Very sorry to hear of your troubles, the worst part of social media and the online community is laid bare, makes us all vulnerable in a way that we wouldnt normally be. Family is everything, you are doing the right thing. They will appreciate seeing more of you (and Dougal and Ted!), and that will be fulfilling. You can visit the Hebridees as a tourist again, whenever, so all is not lost. The silver lining is you will be able to travel the continent more easily from Kent. We have so enjoyed your videos, that we now have an Activ 422, you have inspired the next generation of caravanners! It was lovely to bump into you in Uist last year! Amazing coincidence!
Hi Andrew, Sorry to hear that life has caught up with you (so to speak). A number of years back my wife and I had to making a decision about our life and our aging parents. We chose family and have no regrets. I hope things pick up for you with the videos and you enjoy time with your family. I wish you all the best in the future.
Absolutely gutted for you Andrew! I remember watching your video of your move to North Uist, realising your dream, and it was so inspring and well edited. I've long time been a lover of Scotland and would love to someday make the move myself, but like yourself, the ties of family prevent me from doing so right now. It's also been a joy to see Dougal and Ted featuring. As for integrity, I don't think anyone can fault that! I would say that your production values and skills have also steadily increased. But if I can be permitted to make one small observation? I got into your channel as a result of a love of the trips across Scotland and your adventures in the Hebrides, however, I kind of got lost with the caravan shows and reviews. Would it have been worth maintaining focus on both, whilst not necessarily compromising, by creating two separate channels, each devoted to that particular aspect, so one for caravans, one for Scotland? I have nowhere near as many subscribers or views on any of my videos on my youtube channels (both of which are very fledgling channels), but I felt early on that I needed to keep a focus on the aim of each channel, and as such, split them up. I don't mean in any way to criticise, but as a keen subscriber to your channel, I wonder if this may have helped? Regardless, best wishes for your future endeavours, and I am sure that in time you will be back doing what you love.
Aah, Andrew. You'll be so sad to leave your lovely home, but you're doing the right thing for your family. We understand completely, having been in that situation ourselves. Bless you all, hope everything works out for you. Dougal & Ted will be happy with you wherever you are. Best wishes to your Mum & brother. Wishing you all well🙂
Oh Andrew, that's so sad to hear and see. Hoping, you have a smooth moving. At least, you were able to live your dream, even when it was limited this time. The experience will stay. And wishing to be with your mum and brother in this situation is absolutely understandable. I'm happy about every new video, that you share with us. Whenever and wherever that might be. Safe travels and take care.
Maybe some voice and image work? After 1 minute of viewing this, excitement is not really the part. Like the dog, almost invisible, we drop off k.o.'ted by dullness, snoring in rest...The Hebrides for sure have some snugger interiors, exciting wild seas and places to run the dog free, your voice covering the love of it all, or clear disgust, emotions is what conveys heart to heart communication.
Family always come first and I deeply respect your decision. Could you not rent out the house as a holiday home so have an income and stay with your mum.
HI Andrew. We are sorry to see you leave your lovely home. Will continue to watch your great videos they encouraged us to pick up a camera. This helped me after retiring from a stressful job and its impact on me. We wish you and your family well and I hope we meet again soon. Phil & Juliet 🙂
I'm so sorry that you have had to change your plans and are leaving your beautiful home in North Uist. I enjoy your videos and I've found them insightful, informative and utterly genuine. How someone could question your integrity is unfathomable. I wish you, your brother and your Mum the absolute best for the future. I'm sure that things will turn around for the best and I'll look forward to even more great videos in the future. Take care. ♥
Must be heartbreaking to leave there, when you fell so in love with the place. But you have to be very proud of yourself for having the strength to follow your dreams in the first place. Remember you can always visit Uist again as a tourist. You should feel blessed your family are closer as a result of some terrible circumstances. Hopefully life back down south will treat you, and the dogs and your family kindly.
Sending you the biggest of hugs Andrew and thank you for being so open and courageous. We love you to bits and wish you well in your move to be home and near to your loved ones. Love to you, Dougal & Ted. Adriane ❤
Goodness. That will be difficult in one respect yet probably the right choice for the family. We will continue to watch and support you whatever you do because your content ( and you, Ted and Dougal) are wonderful and create compulsive viewing together. Good luck. In the meantime ignore the Trolls and weirdos and give the caravan manufacturers hell; they have made hay throughout and after the Pandemic producing the same old unimaginative under engineered vans whilst increasing prices 50%. Like you did with the ferry companies, start telling it how it is and start an innovation riot. Love to you and the family. Cb Washington
Oh Andrew, having watched this, I'm having a wobbly moment on your behalf!! I feel so sad for you to leave your beloved Uist but it is totally understandable. I hope that your move makes life easier and I'm sure that your family will appreciate you being closer. Sending love xx
Sorry Andrew about you having to leave, so sorry, can I ask if you have thought about a holiday home or Airbnb with it so that you can return? Wish life could be simple but it’s the very few happy moments that we have to cherish more than anything 😔🥰❤️
Andrew - we recently travelled to North Uist and Harris and largely inspired by your excellent videos and obvious love of these beautiful islands. I am sure you have done the same for many people and we are all enriched by the experiences we have since shared - you do such a great job of sharing your love and joy of travel and of caravanning. I am sure there will be many adventures ahead and by putting family first you will always succeed. Take care and all the very best for the future -
Oh, so sorry to hear your news, Andrew, however I totally understand. I agree with other comments, social media can be so negative, ignore FB warriors , jealous folk who are totally unprofessional, cyber bullying, and take comfort that your excellent videos are so enjoyable to so many and that you run your business with absolute integrity. You will be welcomed back south, enjoy your family, and look forward to visits north in the future. Take care of yourself, Andrew and Dougal and Ted, lots of love Janet xxxx
Andrew, so sorry to hear your life choices have carved this change of direction. Family first as the honourable person you are. Your vlogs have been educational and entertaining so please do not give up despite any negativity you may hear or receive. You can look back knowing you have delivered truth, heart and soul. I hope Lady Luck follows you and we wish you much respect and love! The ‘Heleewwww’ Andrew trademark is often repeated in our house and greeted with a smile!! So you keep smiling fella, kindest wishes n love Carl n Catherine x
So sorry that you are having to leave the Hebrides and return to Kent, but you are right, family have to come first. When I moved to Gloucestershire from London in 2002 I had to move my mother with me as she was beginning to exhibit the early symptoms of dementia. She actually died last year at the age of 100. It wasn’t easy but at least I was able to support her through the last 20 years of her life. I’m sure your mother and brother will appreciate what you have chosen to do. Best wishes, Andrew.
Hi Andrew, having been put in the situation of carer just when I retired from work I can relate a little to what you are going through. The fact is, if you love them then you do whatever you can for family. No-one knows what the future holds for any of us. But I’m sure that if you can keep positive you’ll be OK. And I just know that Dougal and Ted will help massively, especially when the wobbles come. Good luck with the move👍
Your vlogs Andrew, are those I look forward to the most. So sorry about your situation but I believe that everything always happens for a reason. Stay positive, stay strong. I’m sure in the end, it will all be for the best ❤ xx
Surely you didn’t think working 4-6 hours a day ( as per your previous video ) was going to make your channel successful enough to afford you the lifestyle you wanted.
I don’t always comment Andrew, but I always watch and ‘like’ your videos. I am so sorry you are leaving your beautiful home but I fully understand your reasons. It’s very lovely to hear how much you love your Mum and brother. I am very close to my brother too so I can appreciate everything you say. Sadly Mum died just over a year ago so I am sure you will cherish your time with your mum and brother. It will be a wrench leaving your beautiful home but you will enjoy being closer to family. Scotland will always be there for you. Take care. Hope you keep making videos wherever you are. X
Andrew, Only just started following you as we are new to caravanning, love your channel and very professional content, didn't even realize you lived in such a wonderful place, so sad to hear you have to leave, maybe one day you could go back, thankyou for sharing and please carry on producing such fantastic videos, love to Dougal and Ted, Neil and Julie.
As always, your authenticity shines through and having followed you from (what I think was) your first article in “Caravan” magazine, with your Renault Megane Coupé and little sporty caravan, about twenty years ago, yours is the only channel where I enjoy truly unbiased content, presented with honesty and integrity, zero click-bait, and no self-serving, sycophantic BS. Life will throw curve-balls unexpectedly and I have the utmost admiration for your resilience, courage and ability to adapt and change direction in response the challenges you have faced. Keep up your amazing work and keep that content flowing!
Katrina Closier, a couple of comments under mine, seems to have nailed it with her comment. All I can add to her wisdom is that the jerk who doubted your integrity needs to be in your past. Someone who can assist you to monetise your great work needs to replace the person whose doubts sound to me to be little more than someone trying to blame you for the project not bearing you the profits you deserve. Either way, your mum, your brother and your friends will be thrilled to get you back. I hope it all works out for you and we get plenty more of you when fate permits it. In the meantime, much luck to you. Finally, remember, that which fails to break you, will make you add hopefully you will get back to your wonderful aspirations in due course, and with the advantage of much experience that you now have from your experience up here you might just find an even better house is in your future. If your brother can get through then so can you. Just think of all this as being an ongoing adventure.
So sorry you have had to make this difficult decision, but family comes first. You have clearly had a marvellous time in the hebrides, and you have been so lucky to experience it as ‘almost a local’. Wishing you all the best for the future 🥰🐶🐶
Ohhhhhh Andrew I'm so sorry I know what it has meant to you to be up in Scotland. Coming to this decision must've been hard for you and I salute your openness and honestly .......as ever. You have inspired me and my new van is on its way. I truly appreciate your channel thank you x
We lived in Lewis for 2 years and 2 months. It was with a heavy heart that we left our big detached house for a small terrace ex council house in Hereford. Nice experiences and memories though.
Hi Andrew, we are sorry to hear this news. Sending love to you and your family. We have been huge fans of your channel since our son discovered The five ferries challenge vlog in 2017. We will continue to support you and your channel. Sending lots of love and luck your way, Matthew, Angela and Joe (he never smiles either! :) ❤
I wish I were in a position to purchase your home and allow you to visit it when you wanted. I’m in much the same situation as you as I have moved back in with my parents to help care for them. Sorry to also hear of the harsh realities of being a RU-vidr. Shame on those people who become “crickets” after seeming so enthusiastic about a collaboration with you! They should have the courage to let you know they are taking a different tack.
I imagine you considered keeping the house as a holiday rental and living there in the off season, thus being able to spend time with family as well as receiving an income and keeping your home...
Oh Andrew you must feel sad leaving your beautiful home but family is so important and when they become sick or elderly you realise even more so how precious time is with them. I'm sure you'll return to the Highlands with your caravan and see it all with new eyes. Us caravaners are so lucky we can literally pitch our home wherever we like so we can have sea views, riverside homes or relax among the trees. Currently sitting in our lovely caravan overlooking the sea at New England Bay, it's only for a week but after being ill myself recently I appreciate it so much. Keep the videos coming when you can. I'm sure Dougal and Ted will be happy wherever you take them.🐕🐶
So sorry to hear you're having to leave Usit. You inspired us to take our Eriba to the Outer Hebrides this June and we had the most fantastic holiday, like you we totally fell in love with the place. We also only bought the Eriba and returned to caravaning after an 8 year gap after seeing your video review on the 320 Eriba. We love watching all of your videos and you are such a genuine person Wishing you all the best for the future and please take care of yourself as well as your family. Julie and Steve
Thinking of you very very much, and can only tell you how heavy my heart felt watching you share something so hard with all of us. Please know how special you are to all of us 🤗❤️ and how much it means - even in just a very small way - to be part of the channel 🤗
A heart felt video. Thank you for explaining your reasons for leaving. You have had a special few years in the stunning North Uist. I’m pleased your brother pulled through and these events have brought your family closer together. We wish you well. So lovely to see Dougal and Ted xxx
Hey its family and we all need a living Andrew - as much as we are your on-line community family is family. Here is hoping more journalistic opportunities on the way when you move south - all the very best.
My heart goes out to you ❤️ What a lovely house, but that's because of you. You made it lovely and you will do the same with your next home. At every ending there is a new beginning ❤️
Sorry to hear it Andrew! Your videos really inspired me to visit the Outer Hebrides a few years back and I loved every minute! Best of luck to you mate, your kind character will surely land you on your feet
We have so enjoyed the quality and content of your videos and the honesty and integrity of you as a person. So sorry to hear that you will have to leave your lovely home in the Outer Hebrides, and although it is a difficult decision, it looks like it is the right one. All the very best for whatever the future direction of your life is, and we hope that in some way at least, you will still be able to chronicle it here on RU-vid.
So sorry to hear this news. Since deciding a few years ago to expand our Scottish sojourns to the Outer Hebrides your videos have been both informative and inspirational. Numerous trips have ensued with more planned. Hopefully your YouTubing will continue. Your move south to be with family is most admirable. Wishing you and your family all the best.
Hard times Andrew but can understand your reasons. The love for your family comes first and the financial reality of trying to sustain a RU-vid channel are clearly not easy. You're going to have to find a new way in all of this and I wish you well. I'm not going to be the bit surprised if one day you return to the Outer Hebrides. Best wishes
❤ Best wishes and admiration from the States Andrew! To borrow a phrase from Zig Ziegler “Sharpen the saw.” 👍🏽 There is a way, the only constant in the universe is change, we humans have one innate skill… we can adapt. Take a breather, change your focus, and know you have an audience that cares for you more than you know. Once you’re regrouped… consider a change in tack (pick equestrian or sailing references) and adapt!
Just sending love and prayers for you and yours Andrew. Ignore anyone who isn't on your team- you have more than enough going on. Know that you are well loved and take super good care of yourself, your wee dogs and your family. May your heart be filled with love and may new horizons blossom to heal the wrench of leaving Uist. Be blessed xxxx
Well done Andrew, you are doing the right thing. You only have one mum and she needs you now. I looked after my mum when dad died and during her following illnesses and subsequent death in November last year, but not before having some great times and laughs.I don’t regret a day and neither should you. You are full of integrity and your videos have provided us all with great insight and confidence to Caravan/motorhome and even consider EV towing! I hope you manage to maintain your excellent vlogs when you finally arrive at your new home.
That is an amaizing house. Oh yes, you are going back to gods own country lol. I live in north yorkshire, but i am from maidsfone. Good l7ck m8, hope everything goes well for you and your fammilly.
