This is going to be a long comment but please bare with me. I'm a 19 y/o woman and lately I've been feeling discouraged because it seems as if your beautiful marriage/relationship is virtually unattainable nowadays. It feels as if these modern men collectively have commitment issues. I say this having no experience whatsoever, having never been in a relationship, you can just tell from social media and day to day stories. I don't want to be used, I don't want to be referred to as someone's "ex", I want something intentional. But it feels like an unrealistic desire. Wonderful video, God continue to bless your Union. Talking about the man being the leader, how can one address a situation where the guy is Spiritual yes, but in the other areas of life he does not express any form of leadership. The only time he is focused is when it comes to spiritual things, lacks seriousness in other things like improving himself and becoming better. When he is not proactive, will not apply for opportunities by himself until you send him and tell him to do so.

This is a fantastic question. Now, a man who truly applies himself to spiritual leadership would eventually learn that as is the spiritual so is the physical. So spiritual excellence would have to translate to physical or natural excellence. Responsibility cuts across every area of life. A responsible man is one who takes care of or pays attention to his spiritual growth, finances, emotions etc. So to the guy who is only spiritually focused, before any conclusions are made as to if he’s just a lazy or laid back person lacking self motivation, a “hard conversation “ on the topic should be held between you guys. If he sees his actions as not up to par and is willing to improve, that’s a decent man that one can watch and help. If he doesn’t see the need or even have the drive to improve other areas of his life, then the so-called spirituality is just a mask to cover up his self imposed inadequacies, then really that’s a man to steer clear of. Pastor Kenney responding here Now to your question, I explained from the beginning to my parents and my dad was cool with my decision although my mum was worried if it wouldnt distract me from excelling in school.. I proved to her with my results it wouldn't. For my wife, I met her mum early in our relationship and she had no objections after I told her my plans.. I did meet my father in law about a year later and he drilled me which was very good for me because he wanted to the sure I wasn't playing around with his daughter.. So if two young people can be really clear about their relationship and define what they want it to be such that their parents can see the certainty in them, then most parents wouldn't give problems. Is this clear?
