HI GUYS❤ Thanks for watching as always🥰 We're super excited to share this trip around countries 88, 89, and 90🙌 This was back in June so our video backlog is definitely growing...😅 We're doing our best to catch up!!
@@Nalesnik158 The occupation of Danzig by Poland was 100% illegal and violated all international law. Is this how the Poles explain the theft of cars to themselves?
I love Gdansk! We visit almost every year when we drive to the Open'er Festival. I've been to Poland many times, and it's a very beautiful and welcoming country. Great seeing your impressions :) Cheers from Lithuania, guys
It doesn't look clean and well maintained. It actually is like that in entire Poland. Bonus info for all from Americas and SOME (not all) Western Europe countries: If you ask Poles if it's safe there they will not understand the question. Like... why would you even ask? So don't even bother because they simply don't get the sad reality in places you live. It's completely different than in your countries and safety topic doesn't exist in public dispute.
@@paulie_one_eye I see people asking the same question about pretty much every city/country, like if it's safe here in Prague and if it's safe to travel around country when you are black and such questions. You are right that native people are really confused by such questions, if they speak English and know something about world, they will probably get what you asking for, but if not, they will be just confused, they will ask you to be more specific like if you mean safe like if we have some dangerous animals, snakes or something like that or you mean safe like if there is a lot of car accidents or something. The fact that in some countries, there are places in your city you can't visit is just bizare for us.
@@Pidalin yeah, I’m always very amused reading comments under YT vids made by Americans in Poland posted by another Americans like “yes, I confirm, very nice country and safe…”. I stopped being surprised. It just became funny. They are shocked that nobody will shoot them for their smartphone and wallet or - especially in Poland - nobody is going to cook and eat black people. But if you look at some documentaries from the streets of LA or Philadelphia you’re no longer surprised.
Gdansk looks GORGEOUS! It reminded me a lot of Amsterdam and the homes on the canals. I hope to visit one day! I hope the rest of your travels are exciting! Can't wait for the next vlog!
Amsterdam looks like Gdansk because in 16century Commonwealth of Poland there was huge export an enormous quantity of pinewood logs that were necessary for foundation enginering..Every piles were driven into muddy ground. More than 75% of Amsterdamse city is built for it..Placed on pinelogs from Poland. And people what traweled then exchanged building style.
@@quant2011 Well, Gdp ppp is always higher for small countries like Czech Rep, Cyprus or Lithuania. With this criteria, Liechtenstein is the richest country in the world.
@@bartoszbrown1322 that’s very true. However, I actually prefer people thinking that Poland is “less than”, it makes the rest of us who are smarter able to enjoy the country without it being overrun and overpriced. Poland is the best kept secret. 🤫
I'm glad you had a great time in Gdansk. I recommend you visit other Polish cities, eg Toruń - the city of gingerbread and Copernicus, Warsaw - the capital teeming with life. We also have gorgous mountains and lakes, Poland is beautiful.
I'm planning a trip to Europe sometime this spring... my first since covid but 6th overall (& first with two passports 🇺🇸🇵🇱). I will spend my time mostly in Poland & Austria catching up with my cousins over there as well as some sightseeing.
Hey guyz. Wow that town in Poland is so pretty: I live in IL lots of nice Polish people in my town. Very nice it looks like a town from a story book. I love those modern apartments on the river. Stay safe can’t wait for more content. 🥰🥰😄😄
Oh you guys are SO cute!! Bear in mind this is coming from a senior female!! Lol! Seriously though, I’m so pleased to see that you guys are NOT like 90% of the travel bloggers who rave on about travelling with only carry on!! Omg! I’m so over hearing about backpacks and compression cubes!! There are other ways to travel, so I’m thrilled you guys show that! Yeah, I loved Sofia too and am heading to Poland next year too! Happy travels! Cheers from Australia!
@@OskarandDan Lol! Yeah, I can relate! Not a problem for you young and fit ones, but my back can’t cope with heavy weights anymore, so backpacks aren’t an option for me I’m afraid! It seems like those other loggers all assume that if you aren’t up for carry on only travel, then you’re not seriously into travel! I bet to differ! It’s my passion and I’ve been solo travelling for years now and am obsessed with exploring new places! I’m off to Iceland soon, so am counting the days! Hope you guys enjoy Sofia! I was there in 2019 the day after their first snowfall of the season and it was stunning! Enjoy!
I cannot wait for the day I visit Poland! It’s been on my bucket list forever!! Seems like Bulgaria has been very much🤔 a vlogging destination this year in particular I’m looking forward to see what you make of it as well as Romania! I have to say the biggest surprise is Moldova!! What I know and have seen of it is not … not sure how to say this …it needs TLC and I’m usually one cheering for the under dog so I’m very curious 🧐 to see Moldova and meet its people culture etc remotely. I remember Bald and bankrupt little visit there 😳 Enjoy new countries Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
I've come to realize that Poland although a much poorer country in many ways is actually much more open to innovation and digitization than Germany or Austria where pen, paper and hard cash are still regarded in high value.
Yes. Poland is much further ahead on digital payments than United States. (Not sure about Germany or Austria) You still have older folks in US using checks and some companies are paying people in checks. Cash is king in US. Also, United States still uses chip in cards most of the time. Contact less is an option but its rarely used, doesn't work in many places, and is super slow. Even random bakeries in Poland have contact less that is always fast. People also pay with their Apple watch or phones. Very rare in the United States right now unless you are maybe in San Francisco.
Yes! Once we wanted to buy tickets to a concert in Berlin, and we could not, for the love of god, find the option to receive the digital ticket copies into our emails. Finally, I called one of my friend in Berlin and she explained that you have to mail them by post (obviously, you have to be a local Berlin resident for the fees to be cheap rather than mailing abroad). Apparently this is pretty common thing in Germany still. So strange :D
@@Pievineju1993 I went to an event at the National Stadium in Warsaw for the first time and everyone had a printer out ticket. I guess it is out of old habit because I easily got in with my phone. A weird situation where the stadium is ready for new change but the people are somehow stuck in the past. Hard to explain since everyone is all digital for payments.
The Eastern European countries have been very eager to modernize after the Cold War, while Germany is far more conservative in some ways. I remember some years ago I visited Gdansk, and they had contactless payments everywhere, before it was introduced in my homeland Norway, which is a very digital and cashless country.
Ooh I'm so excited for your Bulgaria video! I visited a few years ago for a week - went to Sofia, Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo. It was AMAZING, there's so much history and incredible nature to explore 💯 I've never been to Poland, having seen this video I'll need to visit next time I'm back in Europe!
It is, I've been there many times bcus my family lives there, but so far I've only visited Gdansk in winter once. And it was great, the atmosphere was somewhat dramatic? I mean, imagine walking in an old town, passing by all those ghotic buildings, in a stormy very dark weather. I spent around a week there, this year in January. And I was lucky enough to get 4 hours of snow lying on the ground (our winters aren't really as cold and freezing as it is portrayed in media and coastal areas tend to be even milder)
during snow yeah but gdansk doesnt get as much snow as say the polish mountains. Would recomend places down south ( close to the mountains) if you want a winter wonderland kinda vibe. Zakopane is the most well know but its also the biggest tourist trap and most expensive but there are others just as great if not better but less well known
Lots of fun. I had no idea that Poland was a beautiful as you showed us. The background music you played going to and being in Poland was just electric and had trumpets playing. Would you please tell us the names and composers of the two pieces? Thanks gents 😎
Poland on track to become wealthier than the UK by 2030 and was voted European Best Destination 2023 - Thousands of Poles are leaving the UK and returning home to Poland's booming economy, the country is set to catch up economically with the UK in terms of GDP per person by the end of the decade. I love you Poland 🇵🇱 ❤❤❤❤
Hello Oskar & Dan, from TORONTO. Thank you so much, for this lovely video from Gdansk POLAND. Wow !!!!!!!, what a beautiful city. I wished I was there. Thanks
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Gdańsk and Wrocław the best 2 cities in Poland. People living there are so friendly, lovely and helpful. I love to play at saxophone at streets of Gdańsk old city
It so happens that the first Eurovision Song Contest I watched in my life was from Gothenburg, I immediately fell in love with it and I am its fan to this day, by the way I also fell in love with Sweden and I hope that I will manage to visit this amazing country before I die. Greetings from the south of Poland 🎶
Cool video. I love Gdansk. I wanted to live there and close to the beach when I was a child. Now I do. Just in a different country. Give us a shout if you're ever in Wales :)
How have I only just come across your video!?? I already love you guys, you are fun, entertaining and informative... now I've watched your first video (well, first for me), I'm heading straight to your channel - Gary 🙂
Hi!! First of all I love your videos and I’m so happy that you’ve visited my country. If I could give you any advice for your next trip to Poland, I would recommend you to go to Zakopane. It’s a city located in a south and it has a vibe you couldn’t experience anywhere else. It’s literally in mountains so the views are amazing and the colors, vibe, music, food and everything is just amazing. Love you guys!❤️
It seems your trip to "country 88" was a bit complicated ! Well, good news maybe for you is that Wizzair will be flying Stockolm to Sofia🇧🇬 twice a week from December. Enjoy and thanks for sharing your trips!👍
I think u were right in about Scandinavians visit Poland a lot, beqcuse my feiend was at border armed army aguard and he would say espacially swedds woudld visit Poland a lot
@@aiceya134 You are very positive person and it is (but not during the renovations). I think that there will be very nice by the end of the next year or in 2024. Now the first impression is strange and ambivalent. Cheers
Beautiful vlog guys! You two must come to Florida and go the Disney World!! I live about 2 hours from it and never get tired of it. I think you guys would like Epcot too 😊😊
Oh, and one thing you should do in Gdańsk is climb the St. Mary Church bell tower (largest all-brick Gothic church in the world, I think). It's _really_ something (and I climbed a few bell towers in my career, including the Paris Notre-Dame which is just _not_ as good).
What lovely guy's you both are. If you wanted to be in the entertainment industry, as TV show host's, you would be fantastic. In the UK, we have two fella's called Ant & Dec (personally, I'm sick of them) who do telly shows & you are sooo much better than them. Enjoy 🇧🇬 🇷🇴 & 🇲🇩 👍 👍
