As someone who flies the UMX TT Evo and other UMX's exclusively from water, I have a few hard earned tips. I can't say whether or not the electronics are water proofed, but once they are wet, they need to be dried completely. If it's fresh water, all the electronics will survive even complete immersion...after they're dried for a few hours. However, the servos are very likely to malfunction mid-flight if they get wet. The ailerons in particular are susceptible, so I always pick up the plane by the nose and let the water run off backwards away from the servos. I put a little bit of tape on the front of the aileron servo covers to shed most water. If the ailerons do get wet, they may.....start jittering a lot, stop working periodically, or worse....fully extend or retract and then stop. I have had a few crashes due to fully extended single aileron mid flight failures. So be careful about that. It took me a while to realize what was happening. If a UMX servo gets jittery or binds when dry, or stops working entirely, you can squirt a very little amount of CRC Contact Cleaner from Lowes in the mechanism where the linkage connects to the servo. Then gently roll the servo gear manually back a forth a little. This has recovered apparently broken servos for me multiple times! The floats are a big pain to assemble, so take your time. It's too easy to strip screws and deform the float mounts. I have learned that it's easiest to use small pliers to gently secure the strippy screws holding the metal frame pieces to the floats. Also I put a tiny bit of hot glue over the areas where the frame pieces fit into the plastic mount on the floats. This keeps them from working loose and getting lost over time. I absolutely love the UMX TT Evo. It's the best UMX Timber thus far in my opinion. Even with floats, it does everything I want it to do with mild sports aerobatics. It can even handle an HDZero Lite VTX and camera on a battery hatch with a rubber band securing to the plane. But you do feel the weight and it’s a little top heavy on floats. So watch the wind and turns when taxiing. Thanks guys...I'm really enjoying your videos. Have fun all.
