Weirdly enough, Constantine has her in a role that embodies that so well. She plays an angel, completely androgynous, like the biblical angels, and if you don't know her before watching the film, you'll be extremely confused
I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t seen her in anything other than Narnia, and she is amazing in that. I was able to appreciate her talent at an early age. She’s terrifying and magnetic at the same time in the film

It was obviously Tilda Swinton as the old man in every single shot and was super distracting. Not just make-up, but the acting was terrible. It was as if somebody who wanted to mock a man performed an old-man impression.
She did so much with her role in The Bigger Splash, and with barely any dialogue (Ralph more than made up for that!) but in We Need to Talk About Kevin, she was sensational. I am also partial to Only Lovers Left Alive - both the film and her character. ..when I was younger I just found her odd, but now she's a favourite.

I love how she is so well loved but not overly well known. Affords her some privacy in the Hollywood world but she is recognized for her skill. She's like a person out of time.

Have you read the book by lional shriver? It's brilliantly written and well worth a read or listen, what amazes me is the woman who wrote the book and had a big say in the movie never had children of her own, if you liked the movie I highly recommend the book, good luck

Truly one of the most luminous presences on film. But how could you leave Derek Jarman off the list of acclaimed directors? It was the most important collaboration of her career, how she got her start! Obviously he's not the household name that, say, Wes Anderson or the Coens are, but what a missed opportunity to help redress that!
Tilda Swinton is the bravest actor (and I do mean actor as she is braver the female or male actor) I have ever seen. She takes roles that most actors would turn down, because of subject matter or the weirdness of the character.
Even when tilda has a small role in a film. Years after watching someone mentions the film. And the first thing that comes to mind is Tilda she steals every scene in every film she has ever been in
because she's not a typical pretty face and it's her quirky appearance that is truly the breath of fresh air compared with many other female actors. Plus, she makes you believe her role is actually how she is. Completely convincing and thorough.

Even though she and Cate Blanchett both co-starred in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, they SHARED NO SCENES! They're two actresses I want to see play sisters or partners in something; like if they were buddy cops or assassins or something together, that'd make me so happy!
Her performance in suspiria is mind boggling and has to be one of the greatest in modern times she not only plays two main characters but one of them is french and speaks german/english/french the first one with a small accent while Lutz Ebersdorf speaks german free of accent but his english sounds very german. She also plays a third role but the previous reasons are such big commitment and in my opinion need to be credited!

Don't relegate her greatness to a gender. Who among living actors is better than her? Daniel Day Lewis, perhaps, but beyond him I would venture to say there is none.
What I love most about her is that she doesn’t care about fame. She mentioned in an interview about one of the films she starred in ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ that she was told she can morph into whatever costume she wears. And that’s true. She also said she purposely performs in Indy films so avoid attention. She likes being underrated cause she doesn’t live for the hype that the entertainment in the industry brings like the Oscars and what not. She’s robbed of a lot of Oscar awards by the way. Yes, she has worked with all of these directors and many of her most transformative roles have been from recent years. But you should have at least mentioned Derek Jarman and the influence these two had on each other in the early stages of her career and second half of his career as a filmmaker. She was basically his muse and he very much supported her desire to play wild and exagerated characters. While I like your video, it pretty much seems like you discredit pretty much everything before she started in Hollywood safe for a small shot of "Orlando" at the end of your video. This woman has been active in film and been known among film lovers for 20 years before she did Narnia, you know?
She can do things Meryl Streep can never do. Like play a man convincingly. Or a woman, or something in between. Or both, or neither. And still manage to be strangely magnetic and layered as a person. Tilda, Blanchet and Glenn Close can genuinely get me spooked.
She's also one of the most humble. She doesn't care about being directed by Steven Spielberg or winning an Oscar or being on the cover of all the magazines. She's also not annoyingly political and a virtue-signaler. She just is who she is and doesn't care what anyone thinks..
